Freddie Mercury and Rod Stewart have used a similar "stick mic", fun fact: Su's stick microphone has a DNA helix pattern on it that is repeated in the introduction to "Babymetal DEATH" from the same show. The Virgin Mary statue is in the likeness of Su-metal..nothing controversial there #notacult.
This concert is Legend 1997 and was in late 2013 and it's a defining early concert. It's a celebration of the lead singer Su-metal as she was born in 1997 and the concert was the day after her 16th birthday. "Headbanger" is a bittersweet coming of age story about a 15 year old school girl going to a concert and braving the mosh pit, while knowing the freedom of the moment won't last long. It's used to celebrate BM birthdays and both Yui and Moa have taken the lead in it for their birthdays. The song probably resonated with Su because she had also recently graduated from school and the idol group "Sakura Gakuin", Yui and Moa were both still members, and started working full time with Babymetal.
In Legend 1997 the energy of "Headbanger" is followed by the emotion of "Unfinished Akatsuki" and the insanity of "Babymetal DEATH" and together they tell a story about growing up and accepting sacrifice and change. You might like to watch the videos of those songs in order and you'll get an idea of how theatrical Babymetal can be. Su starts "Unfinished Akatsuki" from where she collapsed after "Headbanger".
This concert is called Legend 1997, its the birthyear of Su-metal and it was her 16th birthday on that concert
Freddie Mercury of Queen frequently used mic stands with no base, but I don't think his ever was bejeweled like this

Good reaction. There are a few good videos from this particular show and I think they're all safe for reactions (as a rule they have been at least).
'Headbanger' is a particular favourite of mine and I was so happy it was back on the set list when they toured the UK and Europe last year - I finally got to see them do it in person. No smoke cannons when I saw them but every bit as much fun.
I will second RoadRunner's suggestion for 'BABYMETAL Death' and the link he has provided. That was the show finale and you need to see it to believe it ... and the statue is there for a reason. We will explain after you've watched it if you're still not sure what happened.

I suggest looking up the "Gans Tomas" channel on TH-cam, go to playlists, and see virtually the entire concert (13 videos) under "Full Live Legend 1997 Su-metal Seitan Sai". The concert happened on the 21st of December, 2013 before around 9,000 fans at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, Japan just outside Tokyo. Kitsune up! 🦊🤘

BABYMETAL is a very unique metal unit born from Japanese music industry of idols. The big difference from existing Japanese idols is their talent for singing or dancing. Moreover, it is outstanding. So with this intense heavy metal sound, they can sing and dance. This is awesome thing, and The members of Kami Band, their back band for live shows, have recognized it and respected girls. This kind of music have never been before even in Japan.
Btw, the statue behind them is not Buddha, is St. Mary, I think. Thank you from Japan.

Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register.

'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits.
Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when this was first recorded.
It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was performing on stage, rather than attending concerts.
She had just turned sixteen the day before this December 2013 'Legend 1997' show.
I wish she got more straight up rockers like this one, she can certainly deliver them.
BTW, there are a few workarounds for copyright issues with reaction videos.
1. There's the "link & sync" method. That's when you include a link to the original video in your video description.
You don't include the video (at least not the visuals) in your reaction, but you tell your viewers to open the original video in another window, and provide a "3, 2, 1, click!" countdown.
That way we can start the original video playing at the same time you start watching it.
Just don't pause, since it throws off the timing.
2. Use videos from the "Babymetal Reactor Resource II" TH-cam channel.
They provide watermarked videos for you to include in your posted reaction videos, and versions without the watermarks (an overlayed logo) so you can see the whole unobstructed video you're reacting to.

Headbanger is a must for any new Babymetal reactors because it took them by surprise. The crowd even simultaneously sing alongside Babymetal. The Pikachu in the middle of the crowd is a Legend along with the White T-Shirt guy from Sakura Gakuin concert. Babymetal preformed this song at their first gig in RockMayKan in Megaru to a crowd of 150 but the energy and professionalism is top notch. Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance (and still 2 more) ? In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 06:11. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!". This shout comes out wherever they go on this planet and whenever Su-Metal directs her mic towards audiences. BABYMETAL performed this song in each and every show of "10BABYMETAL BUDOKAN CONCERTS" of this year. So I am sure that you will see this song played in the online program.
One thing you can do that another reactor did was put up a random video here and put a link to bitchute or whatever with the actual reaction. He put up random Babymetal reactions here like behind the scenes funny moments or videos of the girls before Babymetal. That way you still get the views.

There is a copyright safe fan made thing out there I have heard of. Someone may have mentioned in already in the comment. I believe if you search BabyMetal copyright safe it comes up but I could be wrong. Failing that don’t use the official channel, stop and rewind a bit now and then seems to work ok. Also can try a light overlay but I hate that myself.

Statue is image of 'Our Lady of Akita'....which was a trippy apparition and prophecy of the Virgin Mary in Japan. But I think they just use it here to represent another goddess figure out of which SU becomes ...theyve tended to use Catholic imagery in their things I think because of Japanese see that as Dark Gothic and medieval.
