Yes Moa can sing, she may not have Su's breath control or power but she has a lovely voice. She has said she doesn't want to be the centre or lead vocalist though and has concentrated most on taking the lead role in the choreo - which is equally important when it comes to BABYMETAL live performances. Talking of which, did you notice how Su stepped into Moa's place in the choreo and performed that like she had always done it? 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday - 15 is a significant age in Japan as it marks the end of compulsory education in Japan and the first step to becoming an adult. By the same token 20 is the official coming of age in Japan, at 20 you are officially an adult. This was Moa's 20th birthday concert (or most of it was - this was a compilation video with clips from other shows spliced in to get past copyright) at the Legend M concert on 4th July 2019 - which was why she took over lead vocals for this song ... and the lyrics were changed to "... this special night of my 20" from "... this special night of my 15". At shows near their 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Koln/Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' in exactly the same way with Su handing them the mic and stand and taking their place in the choreo. There are fancam videos from both those shows, so the quality isn't great, but they are still special.
Moa has pretty good breath control but remember she had done her original choreo for the first part which is very hard like usually she doesn't breathe that hard she does smaller parts so she has time to catch her breath
All three of them can sing, dance, act, play to the camera, and command a stage... brought up through enormously tough training in the performing arts from a very young age. Moa isn't given enough credit for her vocals, which are amazing, as you saw. You do hear a lot more Moa isolated and more towards the front of the mix in the newer songs on "The Other One" as just like Su, she's just been improving and stabilizing over the years.
Moa is a good singer, but Su is a next level singer. This is nice, actually more than nice for we all love Moa. And I agree that we need more Moa singing.
On a smaller live show/stage, at the start we can sometimes see the Headbanger microphone stand on stage somewhere and thus we know what's coming. We don't know the significance of it, could just look cool. Some think it might be a reference to Queen's Freddie Mercury, who had that often.

Great reaction, loved your enthusiasm. 😁 Yep, Moa has a beautiful singing voice. And yes, all of them are trained singers. Even the Avengers... and they don't even wear mics. But you know, BABYMETAL was formed around Su-metal's vocals and her no holding back way to perform live. You really need to do the guide (there is a good one on CrypticMisery channel), so you will have a better context to the whole thing.
Regarding Moa's vocal ability let me remind you they were very popular Idols before Babymetal. What do Idols mainly do/known for? Singing and dancing! All three can sing/dance like nobodys business, but what we get with the group here is only a fraction. Pretty much the chief complaint of most long term fans has been why they have not done too much and still dont do more with the stable of talent consistently available. Pretty soon you will be out of babymetal videos to react to, and most likely will be requested some of the Sakura Gakuin (idol) videos, just to get more Yui and Moa action~

Its kewl you noticed the Mic and how its bedazzled, as well as her teeth. Freddie Mercury had a similar mic stand and he had an overbite which he could have fixed. He didn't as he was worried it would affect the sound of his amazing voice. Similarities and acknowledgements and tributes litter Babymetal songs. They have shown great respect for other musicians.

Yes this was 1 year after Yui left, this is from 2019. This was a special preformance for Moa it was her 20th birthday, they also changed the original lyrics also to reflect it. Originally the lyric is special night of my 15th year but changed it to 20 for Moa. Their is also a fan recorded version of Yui singing Headbanger on her 15th birthday. its not the best quality but still worth checking out if you want
As they've gotten older, Moa's done a couple of the formerly Black Babymetal songs alone: "GJ" and "Onedari Daisakusen" (those were done in 2021 for their 10th anniversary). She also did "Love Machine" solo when they were a bit younger for one of her birthdays.
Would suggest BabyMetals best and hardest song, "Catch Me If You Can" live at " Black Night Legend Doomsday show" is best, has Kami Band Intro, 3 Guitar Solos, Drum Solo, So cute, and so metal, is Outstanding!
When Moa raised her mic, and did the famous Moa grin/smirk, alls right in the world. Headbanger is a song about coming of age and going to a rock concert, so the girls tend to sing it for bday milestones... Su's done it, Moa's done it, Yui's done it sadly only once and the only shot was fancam. 😓🤘🦊🤘
A "Headbanger tribute" would not be complete w/out the "Official" Video. Everyone seems to say that "live BabyMetal is the best BabyMetal", but their music vids are great too and Headbanger is one of the best. It was one of the first BM things I ever saw and the opening scene was a WTF moment that I will never forget..
In the Black BabyMetal and Sakura Gakuin Mini Pati videos you can see and hear Moa and Yui singing. They have about ten songs. 🦊 Moa grew more and more beautiful. In the 2021 concert, we saw that Moa has become a Kawaii and beautiful woman.♥️

As others have said this was her 20th birthday concert (actually 2 concerts) in her home town of Nagoya (just as Su had her 20th concerts in her home town of Hiroshima - titled Legend S Baptism XX). Your 20th birthday is Japan is very important - you are considered an adult. This concert was titled BABYMETAL ARISES - BEYOND THE MOON - LEGEND M. Interesting fact they had performed on the Saturday the week before in Japan at 2 concerts BABYMETAL AWAKENS - THE SUN ALSO RISES in Yokohama Arena on June 28th and 29th, 2019 (this would have been Yui's Legend Y concert for her 20th if she had still been around). That night they flew from Japan to UK, on next afternoon (the Sunday) - they performed at Glastonbury (available on TH-cam and pretty good visually but from the dreadful sound issue), then on the Tuesday (2nd July) a concert in London (which was my first time seeing them live), they then flew back to Japan for Legend M for Moa on July 6th (Sat) and 7th (Sun), 2019 in Nagoya Port Messe. In between on 4th July, Moa had her birthday. That is some punishing schedule!!
Loving your vids! I'm 46 and just recently getting into Babymetal. I still haven't listened to about half of their stufffl but I've done the deep dive on their emotional (good and bad) but powerful journey. REALLY loving all the new singles and excited for when you react to the Metal Kingdom official video (studio audio, live visual). It's the most epic mind blowing thing, and I cam be a bit of a musical elitist dork (Dream Theater is my favorite band of all time). These ladies have captured the hearts of a lot of folks and rightly so!
About the dancer: she is one of the "Babymetal Avengers", a set of dancers to go on stage, on rotation, to complete the dancing coreagrafies. For a brief moment after Yui left, they used about 5 dancers on stage at the same time, on live concerts. They did not sing, at all. Well, until now, as one of the Avengers, Momo, had been confirmed as the new official 3rd member of the group in April 2nd, and she is doing backing vocals at the concerts, now (scream, as they call)

Trilogy? Although it isn't of great quality, there IS a "Yuibanger" version as well (why does everyone consider Yui a "has-been"?!). And, in my opinion, this version was performed by BABYMETAL A.Y. (after Yui). Yui's last performance with BABYMETAL was on October 15, 2017 and she officially left the band a bit more than a year later (Oct. 19, 2018), apparently for health reasons. And this isn't the first time that either Moa or Yui had done a "solo" version of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!: the first time for both was in July of 2014. Their first album, "BABYMETAL", was released February 26, 2014; their second "Metal Resistance" on March 29, 2016; and their third "Metal Galaxy" on October 8, 2019 which was the first album without Mizuno Yui. Evidently you missed it but Su-metal used the "Freddie Mercury" mike-stand in the Legend 1997 Apocalypse version of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" that you reacted to a while back. BABYMETAL has four songs without Su-metal singing and they're duets with Moametal and Yuimetal (a.k.a.: Black BABYMETAL) "Song 4 No Uta", "GJ", "Sis Anger", and "Onedari Daisakusen". All four are on my top twenty list and most of the One agree that they are arguably the most metal songs of the BABYMETAL repertoire. And, although they do not appear on any BABYMETAL album, both Yui and Moa have solo songs, "Chocotto Love" and "Love Machine" respectively. Also, Moa has performed Black BABYMETAL songs solo after the departure of Yuimetal. Personally, I think many of BABYMETAL songs that have Yui and Moa being the "Greek chorus" are among their best. And don't get me wrong but I kind of doubt that neither Yui nor Moa would be part of BABYMETAL if they couldn't sing. In fact, you may want to check Wikipedia for BABYMETAL, and how they first started as students of "Sakura Gakuin", and I think it would behoove you to take in a LOT more BABYMETAL before leaping to conclusions like Moa "just now learned to sing". You do her - and BABYMETAL - an injustice by assuming too much. 🦊🤘
Okay so you need to understand what being an idol means (Su, Moa and Yui are considered idols). An idol (アイドル, aidoru) is a type of entertainer marketed for image, attractiveness, and personality in Japanese pop culture. Idols are primarily singers with training in acting, dancing, and modeling. Idols are commercialized through merchandise and endorsements by talent agencies, while maintaining a parasocial relationship with a financially loyal consumer fan base. These girls had been training since young - Su was modeling at 6 (and yes there is a video of a very young Su modelling on TH-cam). She was in Actors School Hiroshima (aka ASH) by 8 (and yes there are videos of a young Su performing in ASH on TH-cam). Yui was training as a dancer again when young and both Yui and Moa were kids models. These women were brought up on a stage, all are trained professionally as singers, dancers, actors and models. I think you need to understand their background so might I suggest a reaction to "Guide to Babymetal" video by Criptic Misery. It explains A LOT including Sakura Gakuin, dark carnival phase and the Avengers (aka Riho, Momoko and KANO who filled in for Yui's spot during the 2019/2020 tours of Japan, USA and Europe).
All 3 came from a farm system like our mickey mouse club that made n-sync, Britney etc. So they have been trained since they were toddlers. All 3 were in a few J-pop groups then they tried this and it blew up
Moa's smile when she hears the crowds reaction to her singing absolutely melts my heart and tears me up. So so proud of her like an older brother or parent. She is an amazing human being. They all are, but Moa will always hold a special place in my heart. Su must have loved to just cut loose and dance while giving Moa the spotlight. 🤘🦊🤘
All the girls can sing. They were all part the the Sakura Gakuin Idol collective. Babymetal started as sub-unit. Yui and Moa were also part of another themed sub-unit. But when Babymetal blew up internationally, they decided to focus on this metal-themed sub-unit.
When Yui left, they had three young ladies that rotated in the third position at the concerts for a while before they finally landed on one permanently.
They never officially landed on a 3rd one. Monometal was doing most the shows later but that is because she was the most available. They even had all 5 girls on stage for several songs at their last concert before covid. As you see from all the advertising for upcoming album it is just Su and Moa.
Anyone from BabyMetal or Kami Band could go solo, but I hope they continue together. Moa sang in Song 4 and Onedari Daisakusen, but none of that shows her talent like this. I knew the "trinidad" (Su, Moa, & Yui) studied at the Actor's School Hiroshima at the same time and all joined Sakura Gakuin (an idol training "club" by Amuse Inc.) in 2010, so I shouldn't be suprised by how good she is. After Yui left in 2018 a group of four, named Avengers were rotated at live preformances. The 3rd lady seen in this video is Riho, who also attended ASH and did vocals for a J-pop group. The third album was the first A.Y. It was just Su and Moa. I think that The Other One will introduce a new third member. Some speculate that it will be Momo-metal.
I don't think so. It is the Su & Moa show from now on. Momometal would be in all the press and advertising material leading up to this weekend show and new album in March. They will have new avengers backing them up with momometal filling in one spot possibly.

Everyone seems to forget Moa and Yui both are trained singers. Even though Moa has said that she focus's more on the dance aspect she can hold her own against most vocals and even a little bit in the instrumentalist area as well. She went on to say that this afforded her an opportunity to pursue an older dream of a solo career and would do her best to meet us again as Mizuno Yui. Yui's statement to the fans is still out on the internet. I suggest you search for it and read it (or a translation) for yourself rather than take my paraphrasing.

Moa isn't given enough credit for her vocals, which are amazing, as you saw. You do hear a lot more Moa isolated and more towards the front of the mix in the newer songs on "The Other One" as just like Su, she's just been improving and stabilizing over the years.
this song celebrates their coming to adulthood, at the age of 20 in Japan, as its 21 in the USA. Moa turned 20, so this was her song to sing.
Moa is a good singer, but Su is a next level singer. This is nice, actually more than nice for we all love Moa. And I agree that we need more Moa singing.
On a smaller live show/stage, at the start we can sometimes see the Headbanger microphone stand on stage somewhere and thus we know what's coming.

Regarding Moa's vocal ability let me remind you they were very popular Idols before Babymetal. What do Idols mainly do/known for? Singing and dancing! All three can sing/dance like nobodys business, but what we get with the group here is only a fraction. Pretty much the chief complaint of most long term fans has been why they have not done too much and still dont do more with the stable of talent consistently available.

Its kewl you noticed the Mic and how its bedazzled, as well as her teeth. Freddie Mercury had a similar mic stand and he had an overbite which he could have fixed. He didn't as he was worried it would affect the sound of his amazing voice. Similarities and acknowledgements and tributes litter Babymetal songs. They have shown great respect for other musicians.

Yes this was 1 year after Yui left, this is from 2019. This was a special preformance for Moa it was her 20th birthday, they also changed the original lyrics also to reflect it. Originally the lyric is special night of my 15th year but changed it to 20 for Moa.

As they've gotten older, Moa's done a couple of the formerly Black Babymetal songs alone: "GJ" and "Onedari Daisakusen" (those were done in 2021 for their 10th anniversary). She also did "Love Machine" solo when they were a bit younger for one of her birthdays.

Everyone seems to say that "live BabyMetal is the best BabyMetal", but their music vids are great too and Headbanger is one of the best. As others have said this was her 20th birthday concert (actually 2 concerts) in her home town of Nagoya (just as Su had her 20th concerts in her home town of Hiroshima - titled Legend S Baptism XX). Your 20th birthday is Japan is very important - you are considered an adult. This concert was titled BABYMETAL ARISES - BEYOND THE MOON - LEGEND M.
Interesting fact they had performed on the Saturday the week before in Japan at 2 concerts BABYMETAL AWAKENS - THE SUN ALSO RISES in Yokohama Arena on June 28th and 29th, 2019 (this would have been Yui's Legend Y concert for her 20th if she had still been around). That night they flew from Japan to UK, on next afternoon (the Sunday) - they performed at Glastonbury (available on TH-cam and pretty good visually but from the dreadful sound issue), then on the Tuesday (2nd July) a concert in London (which was my first time seeing them live), they then flew back to Japan for Legend M for Moa on July 6th (Sat) and 7th (Sun), 2019 in Nagoya Port Messe. In between on 4th July, Moa had her birthday. That is some punishing schedule!!

Loving your vids! I'm 46 and just recently getting into Babymetal. I still haven't listened to about half of their stufffl but I've done the deep dive on their emotional (good and bad) but powerful journey. REALLY loving all the new singles and excited for when you react to the Metal Kingdom official video (studio audio, live visual). It's the most epic mind blowing thing, and I cam be a bit of a musical elitist dork (Dream Theater is my favorite band of all time). These ladies have captured the hearts of a lot of folks and rightly so!
About the dancer: she is one of the "Babymetal Avengers", a set of dancers to go on stage, on rotation, to complete the dancing coreagrafies. For a brief moment after Yui left, they used about 5 dancers on stage at the same time, on live concerts. They did not sing, at all.
Well, until now, as one of the Avengers, Momo, had been confirmed as the new official 3rd member of the group in April 2nd, and she is doing backing vocals at the concerts, now (scream, as they call)

Trilogy? Although it isn't of great quality, there IS a "Yuibanger" version as well (why does everyone consider Yui a "has-been"?!). And, in my opinion, this version was performed by BABYMETAL A.Y. (after Yui). Yui's last performance with BABYMETAL was on October 15, 2017 and she officially left the band a bit more than a year later (Oct. 19, 2018), apparently for health reasons. And this isn't the first time that either Moa or Yui had done a "solo" version of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!: the first time for both was in July of 2014.
Their first album, "BABYMETAL", was released February 26, 2014; their second "Metal Resistance" on March 29, 2016; and their third "Metal Galaxy" on October 8, 2019 which was the first album without Mizuno Yui.
Evidently you missed it but Su-metal used the "Freddie Mercury" mike-stand in the Legend 1997 Apocalypse version of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" that you reacted to a while back.
BABYMETAL has four songs without Su-metal singing and they're duets with Moametal and Yuimetal (a.k.a.: Black BABYMETAL) "Song 4 No Uta", "GJ", "Sis Anger", and "Onedari Daisakusen". All four are on my top twenty list and most of the One agree that they are arguably the most metal songs of the BABYMETAL repertoire. And, although they do not appear on any BABYMETAL album, both Yui and Moa have solo songs, "Chocotto Love" and "Love Machine" respectively. Also, Moa has performed Black BABYMETAL songs solo after the departure of Yuimetal.
Personally, I think many of BABYMETAL songs that have Yui and Moa being the "Greek chorus" are among their best. And don't get me wrong but I kind of doubt that neither Yui nor Moa would be part of BABYMETAL if they couldn't sing. In fact, you may want to check Wikipedia for BABYMETAL, and how they first started as students of "Sakura Gakuin", and I think it would behoove you to take in a LOT more BABYMETAL before leaping to conclusions like Moa "just now learned to sing". You do her - and BABYMETAL - an injustice by assuming too much.

Okay so you need to understand what being an idol means (Su, Moa and Yui are considered idols). An idol (アイドル, aidoru) is a type of entertainer marketed for image, attractiveness, and personality in Japanese pop culture. Idols are primarily singers with training in acting, dancing, and modeling. Idols are commercialized through merchandise and endorsements by talent agencies, while maintaining a parasocial relationship with a financially loyal consumer fan base.
These girls had been training since young - Su was modeling at 6 (and yes there is a video of a very young Su modelling on TH-cam). She was in Actors School Hiroshima (aka ASH) by 8 (and yes there are videos of a young Su performing in ASH on TH-cam). Yui was training as a dancer again when young and both Yui and Moa were kids models. These women were brought up on a stage, all are trained professionally as singers, dancers, actors and models.
I think you need to understand their background so might I suggest a reaction to "Guide to Babymetal" video by Criptic Misery. It explains A LOT including Sakura Gakuin, dark carnival phase and the Avengers (aka Riho, Momoko and KANO who filled in for Yui's spot during the 2019/2020 tours of Japan, USA and Europe).

In one of their earlier concerts Moa had a solo performance singing "White Love" Just her singing and dancing. She also performed GJ! solo once.

All the girls can sing. They were all part the the Sakura Gakuin Idol collective. Babymetal started as sub-unit. Yui and Moa were also part of another themed sub-unit. But when Babymetal blew up internationally, they decided to focus on this metal-themed sub-unit.

When Yui left, they had three young ladies that rotated in the third position at the concerts for a while before they finally landed on one permanently.
They never officially landed on a 3rd one. Monometal was doing most the shows later but that is because she was the most available. They even had all 5 girls on stage for several songs at their last concert before covid. As you see from all the advertising for upcoming album it is just Su and Moa.
Anyone from BabyMetal or Kami Band could go solo, but I hope they continue together. Moa sang in Song 4 and Onedari Daisakusen, but none of that shows her talent like this. I knew the "trinidad" (Su, Moa, & Yui) studied at the Actor's School Hiroshima at the same time and all joined Sakura Gakuin (an idol training "club" by Amuse Inc.) in 2010, so I shouldn't be suprised by how good she is. After Yui left in 2018 a group of four, named Avengers were rotated at live preformances. The 3rd lady seen in this video is Riho, who also attended ASH and did vocals for a J-pop group. Curious what Moa said as the platform starts rise that made her shirk?
The third album was the first A.Y. It was just Su and Moa. I think that The Other One will introduce a new third member. Some speculate that it will be Momo-metal.
I don't think so. It is the Su & Moa show from now on. Momometal would be in all the press and advertising material leading up to this weekend show and new album in March. They will have new avengers backing them up with momometal filling in one spot possibly.

Everyone seems to forget Moa and Yui both are trained singers. Even though Moa has said that she focus's more on the dance aspect she can hold her own against most vocals and even a little bit in the instrumentalist area as well.
