Thanks for watching and Hoorah! My brother was also Hotel Hell - Class of '97. He's currently the Professor of Military Science at El Cid. Glad you enjoyed the video.
An episode of Columbo was filmed at The Citadel. I highly recommend it if you have not seen it. Columbo was way before my time but my mom turned me on to it and really enjoy watching the old shows.
Thanks for watching and congratulations to your cadet. I still distinctly remember the moment I became an upperclassman. My brother will become The Citadel's Professor of Military Science next year so if your cadet is an Army student, he/she will have an indirect Luv Subbin connection!
@@AnnMarieMelendrez That's awesome! If your son gets a chance to take a course offered by COL James Collins, I would highly recommend it. I cannot guarantee he'll get an "A", but I can guarantee he will get incredible learnings from an outstanding officer and leader.
Thanks for watching! That's awesome that your son is a senior. Only a few more weeks and he will Wear the Ring. My brother just became the Professor of Military Science there so we are hoping to visit El Cid and Charleston much more over the coming years.
Thanks for watching! Your comment made our entire day (maybe even our entire week). Your son has embarked on an amazing journey and it will be tough - but it will be absolutely worth it. I hope you will get down there as often as you can while he is a knob but most importantly, in October of 2027, when he gets his Class of '28 Ring...

My parents took me to dinner at The Trawler on Shem Creek and it was so nice to be away - even if for just one night. My brother is the Professor of Military Science at The Citadel so we will definitely be back and check out your BBQ recommendation.
Hi Mike! Thanks for watching. As I pen these words, we are in one of the Top 2 states in the country. We are currently in Barnwell State Park near Aiken. Tomorrow, we will tow to Sesquicentennial State Park outside of Columbia to taste some bar-b-que. We love the Palmetto State!

I remember as a cadre corporal harassing a particular band knob. That knob was Randy Bresnik '89 who of course became a fighter pilot and space shuttle astronaut. Rich, sorry I didn't comment sooner. Congrats on this great milestone and thank you for your service. You'll forgive me if I don't cheer TOO hard - I was Navy and in 1988 I was already serving in the Persian Gulf more than a year before that little dust-up with Iraq.

Thanks for watching! The rooms do not get better as one moves from a freshman to a senior (with the exception of the Battalion and Regimental Commanders and their XO's whom get really sweet, huge rooms). The major "perk" of being a senior (at least when I was there) was that seniors are allowed to arrange the furniture however they want. This usually means the instant disassembly of the bunk beds and segregating the desks so that one has more privacy when studying. I graduated in 1988 so another senior perk was having a TV. With modern cell phones and WiFi I'm not sure what the rules are now. Other 80's era room perks was that 2nd semester freshman were issued a telephone (no more phone booths to call mom and dad) and sophomores/juniors were allowed a radio. Times I'm sure have changed...

The next tradition was to take an underclassman whom you respected and press the ring deep into their forehead leaving a sweet imprint for them to cherish. And yes, I can tell stories of Old Corps Hotel Hell that I doubt anyone but my classmates would believe. Enjoy your senior year - May 2025 will be here soon enough...
