Great build! I've been adding modeling clay inside the hulls of my builds to add weight. It makes the models feel more solid and also keeps them in place better if mounted on dioramas at an angle.
Thank you for making this video! I've got my own M51 in the works, and didn't really know how I wanted to paint and design it. But after watching this, I know what I'm going for. Thank you once again!
Sweet! I've seen this kit at my local hobby shop and I'll have to pick it up if it's still there on Tuesday. The mix of desert yellow and buff is a perfect desert color. As always your model looks fantastic and thank you much for sharing! Michael Truhett U.S.C.G. Veteran Semper Paratus 🇺🇸
I've watched several of your videos. It's really amazing what can be done with plastic, glue, paint and some crafty skills. The quality of your end result is just top notch. I enjoyed the classical music and you have also done a great job filming and adding commentary when necessary. I built lot of models when I was young, then would blow them up with fire crackers or something crazy like that. Too bad you don't have a website to sell your kits on line, I'd certainly support you.
I building my right now., its a sweet kit like all the new tool Shermans from Tamiya.. Im doing OOB with minor addition like jerry cans and pioneer tool tie downs and some stowage. The figures in the kit are really good.
OMG... I instantly love the M51 Super Sherman. In my favourite tank game, WoT, it's closest analogue is the M4A1 Revalorise, which has a 105mm gun but painted in french colours.
Hi Andy, I would just like to say that you have done a great job of the M51. I have got this kit in my stash to FINISH but have had a problem with it, I dropped the muzzle brake on the floor and promptly stood on it. I ordered a up-date set for the M51 but was not happy with the size of the M/B it seemed a little on the small side, but seeing your build I must get it out and finish the project. I will also subscribe to your site. Happy Modelling from Australia, Les
Andy, you got me back into models. I never painted models as a kid. I built this model but do not have an air-brush. I guess I spray paint it black. then desert yellow then hand paint things. I do not know how the painting process could be simplified?
Right on Andy , that was fun, one of the only Sherman kits I dont have, great weathering and detailing !!! Are you going to do a build review and paint on the new RFM M4A3E8? Thanks Andy !! Great work!
Parabéns ... seus trabalhos são excelentes ... perfeitos ... quero muito poder fazer um desses também ... vou me preparar para comprar os acessórios ... aerógrafos ... pinças ... todo o material ... tintas ... Tudo que for preciso ...
Hi Andy, Have you put together Dragon's version of this kit from mid 90's with the separate track links and a tiny PE fret? If so, what were your thoughts? Glad to see you're getting closer to 50K subscribers :)
Great work.....but if you could slow down a little when switching paint, that'd be helpful. On this Sherman, near the end you switch to xf ? 5, for shadowing maybe.Do you do figures? tank crew? Would like to see how you do that.
He Andy, I'm from the Netherlands.. Your videos are very nice! and it helps me to paint my military models! But, which colour green you use for the bags en the crates?
Icebobk the last time it was used in combat was during the second day of the Yom Kippur war when an Israeli reserve armored division counter attacked on the Golan Heights.
Greetings from Germany. I´ve got a problem, I want to build the CSS Virginia in the Scale 1:32. Does anybody know where I can get some cheap plans of the ship? Thanks!
I love and learn so much from your videos. Quick question on the painting. You showed both Buff and Desert Sand. Do you use one separately as a base and then the other as a lighter tone or do you make a mixture of the two? Thanks in advance.
A little bit of a late reply, but I think they are mixed. I recently painted up a desert vehicle with Vallejo colors similar to Andy's colors here, and it turned out very similar.
Hi Andy! This video convinced me to get back into scale modeling, and I was just wondering - What color did you use to drybrush it, and how did you do the tracks? Hope you see this! :)
Probably the best Sherman I've ever seen. Good job.

That is amazing.I need to get me one for myself.
I building my right now., its a sweet kit like all the new tool Shermans from Tamiya.. Im doing OOB with minor addition like jerry cans and pioneer tool tie downs and some stowage. The figures in the kit are really good.
Great build very detailed USMC !!
OMG... I instantly love the M51 Super Sherman. In my favourite tank game, WoT, it's closest analogue is the M4A1 Revalorise, which has a 105mm gun but painted in french colours.
If I was to build the exact same model, I would paint it in french blue colours.
Sweet. Watching this is really hypnotic. Subbed!

Andy, you got me back into models. I never painted models as a kid. I built this model but do not have an air-brush. I guess I spray paint it black. then desert yellow then hand paint things. I do not know how the painting process could be simplified?
+Thomas McCurdy Thats great , I use to just use a spray can as well but when I was done we usually destroyed them .
Very Nice!
Wow, great work! That must took a lot of time and patience to build it
Nice work !
very nice Video :) a nice modell kit !!
Looks great! Only thing missing is the rust on the end connectors of the track.
Great job !!!
Gorgeous!
Awesome Andy
Thank you
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters your cool
Verry nice build ,I supose the stowage wasn't included with the kit ? Looking forward to see more video's of your work. Thanks for sharing !
+Anthony Clemens Hi thanks for watching , no the stowage was all from value gear just grabbed all kinds of left over parts from other sets.
Right on Andy , that was fun, one of the only Sherman kits I dont have, great weathering and detailing !!!
Are you going to do a build review and paint on the new RFM M4A3E8?
Thanks Andy !!
Great work!
Very nice build!

Me: *HMMM MORE STICKY WATER REQUIRED*
This comment made my day 😂😂
What colour is correct for IDF super sherman ? Yours is a beauty
Most excellent!
Love me some Super Sherman!!
Where did this stowage come from? It looks great!
Well done about you built israeli tank despite the pressure from the B.D.S
B d s is liberal minded bullshit shame on anyone who supports it and especially all these liberal Jewish Americans
VERY NiCE! do the wheels roll?
Very nice build, Andy. Can you point me in the right direction where I might find the stowage you used please?
+TheMojophotos Hi i used a company called "value gear"
Thanks, Andy, I will check them out.
one qestion does it have ruber band tracks ?
Is the tracks working?
イスラエルの改造魂すこ👍
Hi Andy, Have you put together Dragon's version of this kit from mid 90's with the separate track links and a tiny PE fret? If so, what were your thoughts? Glad to see you're getting closer to 50K subscribers :)
Great build, thanks for sharing. Was wondering what you used for the antenna? Looks like metal, piano wire perhaps? Thanks
+ojdee Hi I use stretched sprue
I decided to buy the Academy one as it was cheaper and had more accessories PS could u send a list of all the u used Andy??
Great work.....but if you could slow down a little when switching paint, that'd be helpful. On this Sherman, near the end you switch to xf ? 5, for shadowing maybe.Do you do figures? tank crew? Would like to see how you do that.
Beautiful work, how many actual hours did it take to finish? NOT including weathering. Thanks.
Hi Andy, nice job with the sherman tank - what you doing with all your built tanks ? do you sale in your shop ?
Yes i do sell them in my store
Did that antenna come with the kit?
Andy I noticed you did not paint windows on turret.
He Andy, I'm from the Netherlands.. Your videos are very nice! and it helps me to paint my military models! But, which colour green you use for the bags en the crates?
I'm guessing dark green 2 (raf) xf81 paint would work
Andy .... does all the stowage come in this kit or is it another kit in itself
No it is separate from value gear resin
Thanks Andy
Did you use anything to show how the stowage is tied down?
I made this now , xf 57 with xf59 may I quess?
Is this a good beginner kit? And is this worth it for me at 30 bucks?
Was this tank used in the six day war?
Yes it was 🙂
Icebobk the last time it was used in combat was during the second day of the Yom Kippur war when an Israeli reserve armored division counter attacked on the Golan Heights.
Magnifique
Looks like this kit has 2 different exhausts, wonder hoe correct is it.
Greetings from Germany. I´ve got a problem, I want to build the CSS Virginia in the Scale 1:32. Does anybody know where I can get some cheap plans of the ship? Thanks!
Oh ... it shall be a watelline model!
Awesome videos! I've just discovered your channel. Which airbrush do you use?
Andy, where do you get the stowage that you put on the tank?
+Thomas McCurdy Its made by a company called value gear
Hi Andy! i just wanna ask where is your hobby shop?
Hi Andy, what type of dull-coat do you use?
+Marv 1275 Usually Tamiya but if out just testors
Hi Andy! This video convinced me to get back into scale modeling, and I was just wondering - What color did you use to drybrush it, and how did you do the tracks? Hope you see this! :)
Can you do an IS-2 ?
How do you use pigments ? I am new at this hobby and I was wondering what you mix with the pigment
What kind of glue are you using and what is the drying time? Do you have to let it set before moving on to another step?
It looks like he is using tamiya extra thin cement. I recommend it as it does the job really well. It doesnt take long for the glue to dry.
wait, is does the cupola hatch attach cuz it was falling off while you were painting it. Also does the roadwheels turn freely or no?
+Akib “Ak destroyer16” Lodhi hi the hatch is seperate, i just didn't glue it down , the wheels do not turn
Andy's Hobby Headquarters well the not wheel turning part is by far the most stupidest decision Tamiya made! :(But thnx for the info
