The combat system is a bit weird but not really that complicated.
Once you choose one style of attack all other styles get hidden. You can chain multiple styles using the green yinyang or the attack styles circled in green (those also transform the next style you choose).
The symbol with the 3 triangle thingies allows you to take 2 attack styles into the next combat round.
Took me some time to figure that out.

@@rickzamboni7739I'm mostly wondering how I can get more Weapon symbols into my selection. Everything else is pretty clear so far.

@Ic0nGaming Just checked. The possible icons are the number of icons on your equpped skills +1. You can look at it in the character tab under move counters.

You have a deck of moves to use in battle. The amount of punches/kicks and sword slash in your deck is determined by your equipped moves like Tortoise fist (give 3 punch cards in your deck)
If you only have the sword equipped, you only have 1 sword card in your deck, the rest are palms, kicks and punches. Fight Eagles to learn their specialty move which is 5 swords, equip that move and you will see more swords pop up.
There are some special attacks that are hard to learn because you can't stockpile the right amount of moves to pull it off

The martial arts experience are spent by going into your equipment menu, selecting a skill, and then clicking "Advance." The game was telling you to do that for most of the video, but it seems you weren't seeing the text scrawled across the bottom third of your screen.

Thanks! I discovered this in the next episode more accidentally than anything else. I really have trouble understanding the writing in this game. It's not as if it isn't translated, but the way the sentences are made up kinda confuses me badly.
Reading your comments helps me a lot, seeing what I've learned and you fill many gaps. Appreciated, hope other people will learn from these too =)

@@Ic0nGaming Yeah, if the game is telling you to press a key, just do it. It'll make the text go away, and you'll learn an important feature. Like, do bother parsing the machine sentence, just do it. Lol

You can pick up the bamboo mats by choosing the Recycle option when interacting with it. It does not dissassemble it, it only picks it up.

When you're in the exchange interface, you can click the scale in the top-center of the screen to add coin to balance the transaction.

As for money, you can plant up to 50 crops per farm tile so you can plant the flowers that are worth 5 coins each, when you harvest them, you get like 3 times the amount so you get up to 150 crops. That's 150 x 5 which is 750 coins every 24 hours.
Another way is to mine rocks. There's a map with a lot of rocks in a circular pattern which allows you to quickly mine a lot of Flint. Flint sells for 15 each and you can easily get 100s per trip.
You need to becareful as it's a lava map so there's 5 stacks of heat right there, you can put a bed in the mines to heal and with the Breathing skill activated, you can quickly recover vigor.
You should also keep an eye on your meridians as you can get fire damage there, several stacks of fire in a small area is not a problem, easily treated, just don't let it get out of hand
Another way of getting money is to have a begging monkey. You bring it to a place where there are a few NPCs around and as long as they don't hate the begging, it's a passive income earner.
The money is limited but that's several thousands at least. You could of course do the begging yourself but you need make a lot of broken bowls.

Love the diversity of things you can do to earn money. I am really wondering if this whole real estate business attracts new people into the map to interact with.

Great game that I also just recently started checking out. I recommend you constantly teach and learn skills with people to keep getting more friends and also to collect more moves. Saves you a lot of money compared to buying the moves from sects and many moves can only be learned by just finding random people who happen to know the move. Also, the more nodes active in your meridians, the higher your stats will be. The rest of your boosts are gonna come from specific passive skills, ranking up levels of active moves, gear, and challenge rewards.
Having high Qi is important for resisting status effects, and meridians are always very strong. Second boost you want is Vigor, probably. If those dont show up when you complete a challenge, pick w/e you want except carry weight. If remaking a character from karma, always rank up crafting skills with your free starting points. Clothing especially is important as it gives Qi and Vigor buffs.
The rest is grinding, but don't waste too much time on monkeys. Spar against people closer to your level. If you want real power, you'll need to hunt for Karma unlocks and restart yourself with better starting condition from Karma. Keep in mind that I have attempted to not spoiler here and just gave some helpful advice from my own experience, but if you follow my advice you may come across some interesting developments.
As far as using the combat system, you need to keep in mind that picking a move on the screen eliminates all other moves that do not match your initial pick. Picking Omni Move node reveals all remaining moves and lets you start over again. Guard Move lets you retain the next choice in the next draw of moves while also selecting it. Change Move will change the next move node into its depicted type and selects it. If you picked 3 different move types in the same turn, a new move will be drawn from your deck and placed on the board. if you pick 4 of the same move(back-to-back not needed), another of the same type will spawn immediately
So, tips: You can use the Change Moves as a poor man's Omni Move. Use these instead to pick their own type of pre-existing move is a way to save your Omni Moves. Building really long combos is an art, but sometimes you are better served by just breaking enemy stance. The base threshold is 3 counters to have stance break, but watch out as this works on you as well. Remember that every move you make is matched against an opponents move and you don't take or deal full damage on these moves. High combo above your opponent and stance break is how you deal good damage with basic attacks. Finishing moves are nasty because they cannot be blocked. If you see an enemy with finishing moves active on the right, try and break the combo immediately to prevent it. Simultaneously, always try and force your own combos to manifest

16:52 The reason those icons disappeared is because you chose to change to a sword move. The icons with a blue border on them are not moves themselves, rather they will allow you to change your next move to the indicated type. Since the icon displayed a sword, your next move no matter what is changed to a sword move. And since you can only chain together moves of the same type, all of the moves that weren't swords disappeared.

I really do not know why Chinese developers are the only ones that choose not to invest a small sum into a decent English translation. Japanese and Korean games almost always have it, even if it is sometimes a bit stiff.
Anyway, game looks fun but I'm not sure if I want to muddle my way through this incoherent text.

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yeah this is a massive mystery to myself as well. Parts of the dialogue in the game are sadly barely understandable and if you wanna get in for the story as well, it's not too good if you can't read Chinese.
Apart from that the game has a lot of innovation and good things going on for itself. Really hope the translation quality will increase in future versions. Cause right now it really hurts the gameplay experience, as it also makes some skill descriptions barely understandable.
