Id definitly recommend buying a stage piano. They are keyboards designed to feel and sound like a real piano. They most likely have weighted keys and a natural sound. Im also using a stage piano: the Roland FP-30. I love this thing and I can highly recommend it. If you want to get a lower budget one, you could for example go for the Yamaha P-45 B. But you should at least put in a few hundred bucks to get a good keyboard, because it's no fun playing with a cheap one. If you have the opportunity to try out some stage pianos before buying one, go for it. The most important thing is, that you like the feeling and the weight of the keys. If you get a piano that fits your style, you'll have much more fun playing it.
@@k3v352 I ended up getting a Williams Allegro III (williamspianos.com/williams-allegro-iii/) ... Thoughts? It feels solid and has weighted keys. The company is owned by Guitar Center too. It's not $600 like your FP-30 but it was around $300. They included a nice $70 stand for free too.
