From the (admittedly little) research I've done, Hiddleston actually played that part on the violin for that movie. I wouldn't be surprised if the director asked him to lift his pinky up high like that, too. Definitely no pro, but he also put more effort into it than most do.

Im playing guitar for around 8 years now, self taught (so nothing mindblowing), you guys inspired me to go into classical music on the piano (also self taught), it’s a whole different world where every tiny little thing grabs you and takes you on a journey, just beautiful.
Soon I’ll take piano lessons!
Update: I’ve started violin instead of piano, it’s brutal lol
Haha I also started out on guitar and the switch to no frets on a violin is very difficult to get used to!
Jesus Christ died for your sssssinssss
same !! Hope it working out for you guys !! :)
"Its brutal out here..." Jk, as a violinist who is learning guitar (self-taught), I must say, it is a lot easier with the frets :)
Dog it’s been two years; I hope practice has been swell
Hollywood should hire you two to coach actors how to mime playing violin properly.
That said, Tom Hiddlestone's done a pretty good job tracing a violinist's movement. You can tell he has been coached well, plus his knack for doing impressions.
Keith and Eugene are actually musicians. Keith plays the french horn and was actually given a scholarship to be a French horn performance major, but he dropped out of it. And Eugene learned the oboe as a child. They’re not really familiar with the string family but is familiar with the music community. Maybe that’s why Keith knows how violas are oppressed 😂
This needs more upvote
Anindya Drysca this isn’t Reddit
As a horn player I can confirm, Keith plays the horn extremely well! Nearly on par with a professional level.
So, if he's a musician, how the hell does he not know that two violins wouldn't both be leaders??
@@boredchika i do think that it is because they aren't familiar with string family. Some orchestra are using certain family (example: only wind, brass, or strings) but at least they know the stereotypes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At least she held it the right way around... I've seen so many people try to play the flute and the flip it for some reason... it's painful to watch, and they're not even playing, just holding it
I laughed so hard at "Asian stereotypes," and, "yeah, yeah, 40 hours a day!"
Saying both violins are the leader would be like saying that when you have two guitars in a band, they could both be the leaders. Nope, not how it works.
"That was okay, out of the 10 seconds that she played,"
except for claiming to play a specific song that was definitely not the song, fingers on the board being wrong, strings out of tune, bow placement, and bow hand being wrong. But, yeah, she totally did OK.
I kinda love when you guys point out when professional musicians miss notes in the music. That's why those people are playing music for movies and are not in renowned orchestras.

She was OK, mainly from the fact that she probably has never even seen a violon in-person before.

@@anii7741 - Music is a learned skill. It's about practicing and having fun. If you don't enjoy playing an instrument that's one thing, but the reality is that people have to cultivate their musical abilities through time and effort. A person can be born with a natural talent for something and never realize much potential because they they don't develop it through practice, and another person who was born with less of a starting gift can become amazing because they love it enough to really pursue it. A good teacher who loves what they do can make a huge difference. If you love something don't let the thought that you don't have talent hold you back. Doing things you love enhances your life in so many ways. If you don't love playing music, just keep looking for something you do love.
