The best thing about the evil queens song is that the actress Lana sang it like that as a character choice, she decided the grittiness would be best because the evil queen wouldn’t want to sing so she would be trying to fight singing at all hence making her voice sound like that. Hook's song is my favorite song of all of the musical numbers. I have to give Colin credit for also singing in Hook's accent which is very different from his natural Irish one. Colin is very talented. I loved how Powerful Magic had a typical Disney style to it. Josh did start out in musical theater and Ginny has such a Disney Princess style voice. they're great together My Second favorite song is definitely Zelena's. Rebecca Mader has a beautiful voice. I believe the writers tailored the songs to each persons voice, unlike ones like Buffy where they were really not fit to the actors voices

What I find interesting is that can actually pick out their accents in the songs. With Colin (Hook) and Rebecca (Zelena) you can definitely hear their British accent particularly with certain words like ‘enchanted’ and ‘granted’. And then with others you can hear their American accent. Because there’s words that Americans and Brits pronounce differently and therefore get sung differently too.

I generally dislike musical episodes in regular shows (unless they’re super well executed or really funny/clever) 😅 so this is a great way for me to watch them. Regina’s hard tuning and her sound kinda reminds me of Jessica Lange singing Life on Mars in American Horror Story.
