    Thank you for the video. I am looking to do the decapping for product waste purposes as well as keeping the needle as sharp as possible. If you are using the botox for multiple use, are you just using the rubber stopper? Is this sufficient to keep the botox for future use?

    Thank you. What kind of pliers are those that you use?

    Overcomplicating something that is actually quite straightforward. Introducing too many steps also introduces the risk of more errors.

    What do you do when there is not much product left in the bottle. It's quite unavoidable not get the needle in touch with the glass, isn't it? How do you do it in that case?

    What about 50 unit vials? The insulin syringe doesn’t fit into it to draw it up.

    Why not use the intended decapping tool, rather than pliers?

    If recon to 4units per .1cc then how does that translate in an insulin syringe? ie. what does each mark on the insulin syringe equal in terms of units of botox as it would not be 1:1 correct?

    • @PredationEducation
      @PredationEducation 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That will vary depending on which insulin needle you use, because (depending on the type of needle) 100 units will not always equal 1 ml.
      That said, if you purchase needles called "U100" then:
      - 100 units DOES equal 1 ml
      - 10 units equals 0.1 mls
      - Each "tick" equals 0.01 mls
      If then, you've reconstituted to a concentration of 4 units of botox per 0.1 ml,
      (ie. You've added 2.5 mls of saline to 100 units of botox),
      - Then there is 1 unit of botox in every 2.5 ticks (ie. 0.025 mls), and to answer your question:
      - Each tick on the needle (ie. 0.01 mls) provides 0.4 units of botox.
      Hope that helps.

    This is the "OLD", easy way to do this. It is NOT the recommended practice by Allergan! The easiest way to get a nice sharp needle is to use a large bore needle to add and withdraw the fluid, then switch to a different needle!

      Aren't insulin needles used though? How then can one change the needle?

    • @HankScorpio468

      What are you talking about? That can't be done. Botox needles can't be switched out. Learn a little before you criticise.

    why can't you just use a 21g to withdraw the botox and then a 30g needle to inject? Didn't know that in bd syringes the needles can't be switched

  • @jenwerqthatazzout7639
    @jenwerqthatazzout7639 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why not just backfill The syringe of the needle you are going to use instead of opening the products. Doesn’t opening the product expose it to air and make it less sterile?
    Thanks for all you do!😊

    As a consumer, the most frustrating issue is having completely different results based on how they formulate their toxins. Is the industry doing anything to address this? Drawing it up is one thing but the reconstitution seems to be all over the place.

      @@amylyon2673 There are universal guidelines for dilution of these neuromodulators. The issue is that providers do not follow them sometimes. One provider may be very strict and follow the guidelines exactly, while another may dilute the product to same herself money, which leads to less effective treatment for the client, unfortunately.

    wow, i can think of about 6 unsafe practices just watching the first 3 minutes of this video. this is not the correct way to do anything. no manufacturer would recommend this. please do not follow these recommendations. and Foodie couple, you are right you would never use an insulin syringe for anything other than insulin they are not calibrated for anything else. wish i knew who to report this to.

    Not the recommended way by Allergan. I use a 1 inch 30G to dilute and withdraw all the diluted toxin with gentle pull, without removing the vacuum. Then switch to a smaller 1/2 inch 30G needle and inject face muscles. I use it for dystonia.

      @@purplespaceship2417 The vacuum preserves the product by removing the oxygen. You can't use the product without intentionally or even accidentally losing the vacuum due to the reason he stated, that being, any syringe inserted will have its contents sucked out and cause bubble/foam and would be hard to get rid of.
