The Niners lost when Dre blew his Achilles after a week of training on a crappy practice field. Mahomes & Kelce kept exploiting the middle where a healthy Dre would've dominated. And the punt bouncing off Luter's leg was the killer on top of that. People keep harping on O-Line deficiencies or bad coaching. But ask yourself, how different would the game have been if a healthy Greenlaw defended Kelce, and if that punt was secured cleanly for a Niner drive. You cannot win the Super Bowl if you have bad luck. It's not just mistakes (both teams made mistakes), but it was unbelievably bad luck.
@@ShaunHensley I was screaming with rage when Dre blew his Achilles jogging onto the field. It can be traced directly to that wet sponge practice field they gave the Niners.
You forgot the 20+ calls the Refs did not make, there is a youtube video showing all the calls missed during the SB. The NFL has a fix to make MAHOMES the GOAT.
@@ShaunHensley An Achilles injury is not like a broken bone (caused by a nasty hit) or an ACL tear (caused by a nasty turn of the knee). Achilles injuries are a result of repeated straining of the tendon until it simply snaps. Imagine if you pulled a rubber band 1000 times, and it finally snaps. That's what happened to Dre's Achilles. It was undboutedly worsened by the mushy field that he had to practice on before the big game.
Great Video! But I think you also need to mention the O-Line. We all seen way to many times a couple of key injuries on that unit and any play maker in the world can not do squat. And here is one place the team do not have huge depth. But fingers crossed that this is the year.
I do think this is going to be a great roster. I also think there were a few players that will have big years who you left out. First of all… Jennings is going to have a big year. I can see him getting more opportunities at the third WR spot especially considering how he made a name for himself on third down. This means that the rookie will be working as the fourth WR. He should be able to dominate in single coverage against safeties and DB’s who barely see the field. The rookie RB will be a change of pace RB who provides this offense with the speed that it has lacked since Mostart was our back. This should also allow CMC to take a few plays off instead of being our work horse and risking injuries. I can also see Kyle moving players around prior to the snap just to keep opposing defenses guessing. On the defensive side… Bosa and Floyd will create a ton of pressure off the edges as they will be one of the best duo’s in football. Hargrave by all standards had a down year. However, I fully expect him to bounce back with double digit sacks. Opponents are going to have issues protecting their quarterbacks. I fully expect our run defense to be way better as well with the supporting cast on our defensive line. You failed to mention the free agent corner that we got from the Saints who happens to lead the NFL in pass breakups. I can see us starting him and Ward on the outside while sliding D-Lo at NB. We also signed a ton of depth on defense. However, the one thing that nobody is talking about is how good our Special Teams unit will be with all of the talented special teams players that we added.
Pearsol and cowing were drafted so when one of the Swiss Army knife pieces gets injured they can come in and the team doesn’t miss a beat. Let’s be honest any time Debo or kittle or Ayuik miss games Conley , gray, and Bell are just fill in guys. None of them have Star power capability they are ok but nothing special. Pearsol and cowing will allow this team to have a completely full stable of horses. I think Leonard Floyd was a great pick up too. And Malik Collin’s was good in Houston can’t wait to see him play with a d line like this. He is only going to preform better than ever. He will be the only one not double teamed lol he will have 1 on 1’s all season. Gotta double Bosa, Hardgrave and Floyd.
I hope this preseason hype over Pearsall comes true. Let's wait and see though. Who still remembers "Trey Area"? both of which are no longer with the team.
Sorensen knows this defense well, and was apart of demeco's staff in 22. Been coaching for over a decade and spent 7 years in Carroll's defense in Seattle. He should be lightyears better than Wilkes and has Staley to lean on as well.
Nice job. 49er defense got better the second Wilks left town. Schrader is a better RB2 than Guerendo, who will excel as a gimmick HBack type. The two new WRs will take the pressure off salary cap in 2025 when they’ll be ready to start. In 2024, Best OT, best TE, Best RB1, best QB, (that’s right) best FB, and 2 of NFC’s top 10 WRs
NFL playoffs are 1 decides everything. Different from baseball where the World Series can be 7 games. Having somewhat bad luck in a NFL playoff game is the end of the year. In baseball you would only be trailing 1 game to 0.
I think they picked up some pieces on OL who was really available in the draft or in free agency that could have been a guaranteed impact player on the Ol
Niner fans wrong as usual, too caught up in your own team to see…When Brock, Trey , and Jimmy were in camp that preseason , I told niner fans Brock was the best qb on that roster…( I was laughed at and scoffed and ridiculed , saying I didn’t know football) fast forward now and everyone loves Brock!!! LMAO, Okay he’s a good qb, but you put him on any avg team and you wouldn’t know who he was. He has potential but is the beneficiary of a great roster….if you pay him in the coming season and you can’t pay the Allstate around him? Then you will see…. We’ll talk again in a couple seasons… LMAO
All hype, 49ers will again disappoint. The HC suddenly loses his understand of game rules, in-game adjustment and going away from his team's strengths on the biggest stage. The 49ers SB window has closed.
@@eddielam5114 adjustments don't matter when the player you have on Kelce, who was keeping him from a single catch gets injured and can't play. Greenlaw doesn't tear his Achilles and the 49ers win that Superbowl soundly.
You need to give Jennings more credit. He was about to be the Superbowl MVP!
Right 👍
When everybody thinks they have a game plan to stop everybody on our offense Juan Jennings comes in and messes it all up
i honestley think if we had greenlaw we would of won hes big part of our Defense and houfanga
He had kelce so frustrated he was screaming at Andy Reid. 100% his injury was the turning point.
8 cheap points is what cost the 49ers that super bowl.Missed pat and a fumble on a punt return were costly!!!!!!!!!!!.
Dre going down was the turning point in the SB. Kelce was a frustrated non-factor in the game until Dre got hurt. After that, Kelce started to cook.
I think this is the best secondary weve had in a long long time. You didnt even mention Mustafa!
Best we've had since the 1 year we had deion.
I think the real improvement was at corner and safety.
I really think this is our year. We’ve made the right moves and we got everything.
