This is the way they come straight out of the box

Mine or my friends G3500 did not come out of the box like this.
They both went straight to the selected mode.
He just set his straight to the lithium mode to suit his battery.
I have seen reports of others having the same problem, that is why I posted this solution.

Instructions say must long press to get into advanced modes

      HI ksmarske,
You are correct in saying that the instructions say to use a long press (3 seconds) to activate your chosen advanced mode.
However if as in the video you are suddenly unable to access the 6 volt, lithium or repair mode you then unable to do this.
As you can see in my video the charger now jumps past these modes straight back to the first 12 volt mode.
If this unexplained re-setting happens, as you can see, a long press on any 12 volt mode temporarily brings back the missing advanced modes.
You can now select which mode you require and again using a second long press to set your selection ready for charging or repair.
I hope this clarifies what fault the video is showing and how to get the charger back working on all modes again.

Just to add my 2¢ worth regarding the Mode button. Having not changed the mode for a few years on mine, it seems the contacts became oxidized and they failed to close. So pressing and/or holding the button did nothing. It took several dozen presses to clean up the Mode button contacts on my charger, after which Mode changes could be made, and holds were also recognized.

So glad to be helping people not ditch their Noco G3500 for no good reason.
      Keep on charging!
