One correction: the Endor foils were officially named "Common foils", "Uncommon foils", and "Rare foils". (Which is confusing, because these foils came in place of the Rare in the pack, 1 in every ~9 packs.) In my mind, they correspond closely to the terms that were used starting in Reflections I: "Very Rare foils", "Super Rare foils", and "Ultra Rare foils", which is why I used those terms for them in the video. In fact, if my calculations are correct then the "Rare foils" from Endor (General Solo, Threepio, Tempest 1, and Tempest Scout 4) are way harder to pull than Ultra Rare foils in the Reflections sets (each having a 1 in 450 chance!). Yet, they are still less valuable than all of the other cards from this video.
I wish I had had a group of friends to play this with back in the day, it was my first collectible card game and I just loved it. Played it with my mom who was a huge SW fan.
I built that ridiculous probe droid deck (where you just deploy them for free and the star destroyer or Admiral Piett or whatever it was gives them the ability to force drain) lol, and all my friends stopped playing with me. I said I'd find use a new deck and then built an outer rim scout deck...
At 42 years old, and as a former player when I was in high school, this brings back great memories. I still have 4 binders full of cards (mostly heavily played), and though my set probably doesn’t have the highest value, they are priceless to me in memories.
Bro, I'm the dude who sold his regular, black border/ Japanese Premiere Darth Vader--- the Japanese rare, non-foil. After it sold everyone told me I gave it away. I had no idea it was in demand. I also have a massive set, including heavy amounts of Theed Palace. I guess that Vader was the rarest card in the SWCCG. It sold for a nice figure, but like I said, the community said I got crushed based on what it's actually worth. A few more sick cards would be a complete set of the AI cards -- I sold a Queen Amidalla for a buck, and A Panka AI. Cool vid.
Glad you like them! Yes, the releasing of new Star Wars content is (I think) one factor in the recent price increases for Star Wars CCG. There was also a big price spike around when Episode IX came out in theaters.
Thanks for the video Raffi - Interesting to learn about these cards! Do you have any thoughts on the 1977 Star Wars cards with the rookie/first appearance cards of the main characters? Those cards have also increased in value recently - especially as sports card collectors cross over to non-sports cards and chase the “rookie” cards.
Interesting! I did not know about that. Are those cards produced by Topps, or someone else? To me, the CCG is the "one true" Star Wars card game, but I know there are others out there, some of which also have great collectability.
Sweet! Do you binder for looking or do you play with these? Any more collecting goals or have you got your trophies? I have about two binder pages of cool looking Star Wars cards. None are foil, and most have white boarders. Is that similar to MTG alpha/beta/unlimited prints with black/white boarders? I only have one "6" and that is Obi-Wan Kanobi. Thanks for sharing this was cool!
Binders all the way! One day I may show my binders, I have one for Dark Side and one for Light Side, that each include every character and starship that I consider a "main". I am like 98% of the way there, I have all the versions of each "main" including AIs, tournament foils, and Japanese EXCEPT for a few Dark Side rares from Japanese Hoth. Yes, the white borders you can think of as Unlimited in MTG (in fact, the set was called "Premiere Unlimited"). But for later sets (A New Hope, Hoth, and Dagobah) the white border versions were called "Revised" and were actually printed LESS (we think) than the black border versions of those sets.
Hey, I believe I have boxes & boxes of unopened premier foil packs. Now, currently at 1am , I have no idea if my boxes are ‘limited or unlimited’ …not even sure if the information I’ve just read about is even correct. Tomorrow, I will shoot a vdo at my parents house and go to my old room as a kid, which has since been changed to my mom’s sewing & computer room and firstly see if my card collection stuff is still there , I strongly believe so and how much of that stuff I actually have.
i have unopened foil boxes of the premier box. first of all how do i tell if it is limited or unlimited ? and how much is an unopened foil pack sealed box worth?

I played this game in middle school / high school. So many great memories and I still have hundreds of them.
Thanks for the cool video! Always nice to see a variety of content!

What is the chance of drawing a UR from reflections III Display Box. Is a UR guaranteed in a box or what is that like?
Mandalorian Cards probably helped boost the values of these, looks pretty cool, that vadar holo looks pretty sick

I have a foil biker scout trooper from endor. You didn't show that card in the endorsement foils?

lol - I just looked at my collection and I still have the UR foil of P-59. I traded most to complete sets but still have that one...

KEEP DOING THESE VIDEOS. Pokemon is great, but love seeing other TCGs.
Glad to hear it! Will work on Part 2 sometime soon :)
What sleeves do you recommend for these cards?
I love that my first edition decipher cards are worth nothing now. Thanks WOTC! 🤬
