I have been to Udipi,Manipal, marvante beach and kapu beach in April 95 when my friends were studying at MIT ,and I came visiting them.Everything has changed so much in the last 28 years .thanks for refreshing my memories too.

Wave breakers this will reduce the land errossion by the sea . This strip has been facing heavy errossion for many years so all these rocks were put to reduce the impact of the sea cutting into the land . Also to reduce smugglers 😂 coming to shore

Maravanthe beach used to be very ferocious beach earlier and these big rocks, have made a silent beach. Other important thing is to save Sea Sand getting eroded (slowing sea erosion).

You have been to the cradle of cuisine i.e Udupi. You have missed pure veg breakfast at Mitra Samaj at car street (Krishna math). It is ndtv food time featured restaurant. No onion no garlic but amazing snacks. Then there is nagari canteen besides anantheshwar temple in car street. Again snacks are served here but it half the rate of mitra samaj.
You question as to why rocks are placed at the beach. The purpose is to break the impact of waves to prevent beach erosion.
Udupi is heaven. More than 90 percent of Mumbai fast food restaurants are Udupi restaurant.
But they prefer non veg only😅

The rocks are called breakwater. TO arrest the high tide which otherwise would hit the highway especially during monsoons or cyclones.

Drone shots are fantabulous. Which app you used to increase the drone height? I also have DJI mini 2 but it is having default height... and before purchasing any subscription I thought to check with you.
This is DJI Mini 3 Pro with 120m height by default. However for Dji Mini 2 use default DJI fly app and also Rainbow App. While DJI app is connected to Drone just before flying all set ... go to Rainbow app without closing DJI app and change the heigh to 120m as per laws on Rainbow app. Then come back to DJI app finding its height also changed. This is temporary till drone is not turned off and you do same again.
Note: Keep your internet off so that setting doesn't reset while drone in flight.
