This girl is fantastic. I have been following her for sometime and her selection of songs and rendering style are something unique. So pleasant and charming in her looks and attitude, she presents music to the audience in a very impressive way that you yearn to listen again and again. It is a great conversation. Sivasri is a blessed child and her talent obviously coming from previous birth achievements. I think she has correctly addressed the imporatnce of the Bhava when you sing a song. The purpose of carnatic music is to glorify the Lord as has been done by the great Thiyagaraja and many other famous musicians. So, in this context, we can't separate the divinity in the form of glorification of the Lord and mere singing for the pleasure of our ears. Sivasri is showing the way for the new generation singers as well as for the stalwarts to follow. For this age of kali yuga,Hari Namasankirtanam is the way to progress in our devotion towards Lord Sri Krishna.

I have been an ardent fan of Sivasri ever since I listened to her bhajan concert for Telengana day celebration in Hyderabad. Among various krithis sung by her on various stages I loved her rendition of ashtapathy (19) ' Vadasiyathi...' the most followed by Guru Raghavendra's krithi in Mantralaya. Pleasant surprise for me that Sivasri has highlighted these two as her favourites too. I thought Sivasri is an ardent devotee of Swami Gnananda Giri first. Wish to congratulate Sri Raghavendra for the excellent way nay, Gold class way of conducting this interview. I would have loved to hear his rendition of the mentioned pancha Ratna kirtana ( Samaya...) which would have served as icing on the cake.

I don't know why many Carnatic music teachers care only about the technicality of the swaras underneath but do not stress the importance of saahithya. This was an illuminating podcast for a Carnatic music beginner. Late Smt.Rukmini Devi Athai had stuck to the traditional tunes as Late Papanasam Sivan taught to our Musicians as Athai set the Gita Govindam Natya Natakam. Our batch learnt directly from Athai the production. The 19th Ashtapadi was known Sanjeevini Ashtapadi. The manuscript had the oil as Sri.Jayadeva was going for his oil bath after deleting that particular sahithya but Lord Sri Krishna rewrote the same sahithyam😢 . Sivasri is a phenomenal gifted singer. Difficult to believe that she took singing seriously only recently. My favourite of her songs is Poojisa lende Hoogala thandhe. I must have listened to it some hundred times.
Sivasri is an old soul. There are very few Devotional singers who can sing from deep within. Connecting to Divine and dissolving in the Divine Bliss while singing Bhajans. That is why Sivasri's Songs touchs everyone and we in turn can experience the Divine Bliss. 🙏🙏🙏😊❤

Hey man, what's your problem with yourself?? How are you affected with Shivashri's mother tongue?? Just be done with her music, if at all you like it, otherwise just forget it. Period. Why should she sing more kannada songs, for what purpose?? She may sing more French or Russian songs, what's your headache? Stop getting personal with anybody. That's her choice, she still is a young girl & she will decide on
her own priorities.

I am surprised that the 2 hour conversation is not at all boring. Even though I don't know anything technically in carnatic the way she answered is great. How she is able to sing in many languages with exact pronunciation..?? God bless both of you.
Loved the way how she sang so many kritis with Bhaava and without Bhaava. I don't know why many Carnatic music teachers care only about the technicality of the swaras underneath but do not stress the importance of saahithya.

Late Smt.Rukmini Devi Athai had stuck to the traditional tunes as Late Papanasam Sivan taught to our Musicians as Athai set the Gita Govindam Natya Natakam. Our batch learnt directly from Athai the production. The 19th Ashtapadi was known Sanjeevini Ashtapadi. The manuscript had the oil as Sri.Jayadeva was going for his oil bath after deleting that particular sahithya but Lord Sri Krishna rewrote the same sahithyam😢 . Sivasri is a phenomenal gifted singer. Difficult to believe that she took singing seriously only recently. My favourite of her songs is Poojisa lende Hoogala thandhe. I must have listened to it some hundred times.

Both the interviewer avaru & sivasri ji both questioned & answered respectively from their Bhaava. No questions were meant to be controversial but to understand the internal churn an artist goes through may it be breaking taboos, personal opinions. When distances oneself from their experences or idealogues @ look at objects or questions or answers without any prejudice such rare conversations happen. Sivasri your thoughts on Music especially on the bhava , lyrics and the uchchaarana are truly excellent. I also appreciate your special stress on thyagaraja kritis and the way they have to be sung and not 'rendered' as you rightly pointed out. As a Telugu I used to be pained at all the Tamil greats murdering the Telugu language. You are my favourite along with Shreya Ghoshal who sings brilliantly. Lot of respect for your thoughts and music. Please let me know when you will be performing in Hyderabad. BTW I too am Sivasri but a man nearing my 70th birthday
