Huntly Pipe Band march off playing "Dawning of the Day" through Braemar Mews in September 2019

Huntly & District Pipe Band, led by Drum Major Derek Dean and Pipe Major Ian Stuart, playing Scottish bagpipe slow air tunes 'Dawning of the day' and 'The Gardens of Skye'. The band march off through Braemar Mews as this concluded their displays at that location, opposite the Fife Arms Hotel in the centre of the village.
Huntly and District Pipe Band are a recreational band, formed in 1948 by Gordon Highlanders returning home from service in WWII, and the Gordon tartan is synonymous with the Huntly and District Pipe Band, having been devised by Forsythes of Huntly.

So refreshing to see a Pipe Band well turned out in uniforms that fit them and have obviously been cared for. As an ex Serviceman Turnout is every bit as important as how well you play. IMHO.

@@johnnichol9412 They're civilians, Perhaps you should have a wee look at some of the turnout and dressing of those Gods of the parade square The Guards Division.

@@johnnichol9412 I understand perfectly what is meant by "dressing" My point was they are civilians and one cannot expect the same standard. However my comment was on the dressing of our Guards friends isn't perfect either these days or perhaps I just remember it being better than it was 45 yrs ago .
