For sharing, the tutorial step by step. I have not made the tumbler. But, I will say; worked on the flag and it was not as hard as I thought it would be. I seen your video a looooong time ago, I will stop being scared. I am going to make this tumbler for my brother. His son is in the Navy 🥰

Beautiful tumbler! Just a word about the design: The order of the red and white stripes are symbolic. A white stripe always goes under the field of stars.

The only order that matters is that red is the first stripe and that there are 7 red stripes and 6 white stripes.

Fun project. Glad you got the stars correct, but it appears that the easier way to lay the stripes might be to lay all the stripes on the cup at one time after you cut them to size but before before you pick the 'red' stripe off. Lay it on the cup as a solid(but cut )and once in position, pick the red stripes off. Well done!

It looks great! I e been trying to figure out the stripes being off and finally realized what it was! Yes, the stripes start with red but there are 7 short stripes and 6 long ones. The first long one should be white. I hope this helps! Thanks for the great videos!

Your tumbler is beautiful! Thank you for such a great tutorial. I am not familiar with Cricut software, as I have always used the Silhouette. But I do have a question/concern as I was hoping to use your template but noticed that when sizing you chose to “stretch” the design altering the shape. I was taught to always pull designs from the corners, to ensure that the image remains the same, only changing the size. I was curious as to why you decided the pull the image from the bottom (elongating the stars), versus pulling from the corners, and once the stars where the proper height (which would have made the width too long), then use your cutting tool (I’m sure Cricut has this, just like the Silouette) to trim the width? Which would have kept the stars in their original shape. Again- I’m not familiar with the Cricut software, so please forgive my ignorance and please do not think I’m trying to suggest that your way is incorrect. As I am truly curious as to your reasoning to stretch the shape (minimally distorting the stars shape) versus choosing to edit differently. Would something else (that is essential) have been lost in doing it differently? Does your software not allow for it? Or would it have created an alignment issue, somewhere else? Or something else totally- that I am not even considering???? Just am trying to understand the benefit and/or thoughts in choosing the option that you chose, as I love hearing and learning, whenever I see someone do something that differs from how I “was taught.” I’ve found some really good “tricks of the trade/hacks & time-savers,” over the years, by asking others, why they chose the particular method to do whatever it is that they were doing (not necessarily related to editing images or even to do with cutting software).

To help with bleeding paint- your base coat is white and you have your stencil down spray it white again close to the edges (or the whole thing) of the stencil. That way if it bleeds it bleeds the color that is underneath. Once dried then spray it the color it is intended to be.

i keep missing something. when you uploaded to ds matt it was a print then cut then you clicked on the design access and pulled up another flag and then closed out that one and then your flag changed to a cut file. if its print then cut you have to print first and design space wont cut over a certain size your alert was on the flag before you pulled up the other one also. and like i said once you deleted the one flag your alerts were gone and it was changed to a cut. im lost.
