I'm so glad that Emily and other hostages were released safe and sound. I hope they all recover from their ordeal and the rest of the hostages will be released. No little girl deserves to go through something like that. The father & daughter bond is very strong which is lovely to see, he must have been through hell.

This dad's pain throughout the whole rollercoaster has been absolutely heart wrenching. The uncertainty, the acceptance and "relief" at her death, then finally being reunited.

I imagine when the bombing started, everyone stopped maintaining hygiene and things like lice and other infections probably started spreading like wildfire. I also don't think that shaving the captive's hair to prevent lice was a top priority when bombs were dropping all around them...

They even dug up miles of water pipes in Gaza to make bombs to kill more Israelis. All that they want is the genocide genocide of the Jews and to totally wipe out Israel. Israel has a right to exist and defend themselves.

It’s so heartbreaking hearing the stories of suffering and trauma, it’s not fair that children have to suffer the scars of War. Emily is lucky to have all the support to get her back. And I pray she does. I heard the story of girl called Hanna, who is also 9. whose whole family had been blown up as they were sleeping, she was buried under the rubble and after days found out she was the only surviving member of the family. The girl needed a double leg amputation and is now having no legs, no family, no hospital and no safe space is being forced and shifted from place to place hospital to hospital in Gaza becase there are bomb threats daily to even hospitals. No safe space for Hanna. No psychological support for Hannah, no mothers love for Hanna, no father love for Hannah, no carer to look after Hannah. No life for Hannah. But no one cares about Hannah’s story because she was born on the other side of the wall

I just imagine every child involved in this entire conflict will be experiencing unbearable pain and trauma. Each child is important. Young Emily should not have endured this trauma, nor should the 4 yo Palestinian boy who lost his parents and both of his legs and keeps expressing his desire to walk. The whole situation is abominable and has reached the stage where I do not care about right or wrong, it is all wrong.

It's frightening to see that some Israelite haven't any, any feelings about their traumatized Palestinian victims. What has happened to those babies that were kidnapped. Do they have any information regarding whether they are alive or not.
As someone with PTSD, I find it difficult at times to be around anything or anyone that stresses me out. Work, big crowds, I kind of live inside my mind sometimes. Finding things I love to do, collecting rocks, biking, going to the ocean. It puts my mind on what Im doing that I enjoy. Let her rest a lot, take naps when she wants to. The ordeal is very mentally tiring.

I and two of my D&D players suffer from PTSD as well. We play online exclusively. I think it is a social activity that is safe and feels very. very good. Not saying it cures anything but it lets us socialize quite a lot. Maybe something for you?

Some kids were beaten by mobs on the streets of Gaza. The elderly women are suffering from a myriad of issues since they didn't get medication. One is hospitalized in serious condition. This will be a trauma for the rest of their (and their family's) lives. Kids have been forced to watch clips of the horrors of October 7th. If they cried they were threatened at gunpoint to stop crying. They waved and saluted the Hamas "guys" since they were obviously told to (for the Hamas propaganda machine which you obviously bought). Most still have relatives (especially men/husbands/fathers/brothers) held captive in Gaza so what do you expect them to do (while surrounded by an angry mob and Hamas gunmen) - to curse Hamas?!

As sad as Emily’s story is, the stories of the thousands of Palestinian children tortured by Israel must also be told. Emily was at least treated well and kept fed. Palestinian prisoners (who have not committed any crimes) are not given water, enough food, or even a bedding to cover up during the winter. They are forced to live in overcrowded cells indefinitely as they are constantly beat and humiliated by Israeli wardens.
I am happy to see Emily with her father, and I wish them all the happiness and peace. But in doing so, to avoid hypocrisy, we must also wish the innocent Palestinian hostages peace and happiness too, and we must speak up against oppression

Replying to @yishash I am so sorry to hear that . Poor little Emily has already been through so much already , and also to loose her father's partner. There are no words to explain what she must be going through .That is just heartbreaking. She needs her dad and family and friends to wrap their arms around her and hold her tightly and give her as much love as possible . Just make her feel safe and loved . We have just had children in need in Britain on tv, one place they showed was a community centre for children trying to cope with various types of bereavement and they would use art therapy and play games with other children . Some builders renovated the building ( the communities builders come together and kindly offer their services for free Big Build DIY)so it was bright and cheerful and very cosey with comfy sofas and sensitive lighting , a lovely garden .They offered some respite and therapy but also enabled the children to build relationships , friendships and to see what they were going through they are not on their own. ( I know It does not compare to the trauma of being kidnapped and violent loss of loved ones ) but it perhaps give an olive branch of hope , some little light . Often the children can not even speak , so the art therapy means people can be together and just be with others and no pressure to have to talk . The doing of little art exercises give something to allow some expression of what seems to me , may be impossible to say in words , a way of releasing deep inexplicable , intangible feelings out of the body .
I am sure in Israel there may well be places like this.. I know Israel is very creative and pioneering .
If there is not , it might be worth contacting the BBC and ask about the children in need charity events recently , the Big Build DIY.
They might be able to give advice about how they run such a place . It's been around for years apparently .
So a lot of experience . Completely child centred . Sorry for rambling on. I was very moved by how much it had helped broken children to find some path to some healing . Also connections with others who understood what they had been through. But to bring hope and positivity not just re live the trauma , to lay seeds for the growth some joyful happy new experiences.
I am not an expert in this , it's just observations .
I feel so sad for all the people affected by what has gone on , and powerless .
Someone as young as Emily should not ever have to experience such horror . Also her poor father as a parent. What to do .
I sincerely hope she eventually finds some peace . The encouraging thing is she certainly surrounded by people who care deeply .

I am Palestinian and I am absolutely heartbroken by with this man and his daughter and entire family went through. These kinds of segments are important to show to the world. Equally as important, the world must see the suffering experienced by Palestinian’s day in they out in both Gaza and the West Bank both before, and after October 7.
The world needs more empathy. The world needs to put what is morally just before individual agendas.
Unfortunately, that’s a naïve wish as we have seen time and time and time again the powers that be will inflict as much misery upon people as is necessary to fulfill its agenda.
The truth of the matter is both pro-Palestinian, and pro-Israel Lise are manipulated by the various media they view, and people must take a step back and realize we are all humans. We have love, aspirations, fear etc.
we are being pinned against one another by the extremists in power. Palestinians deserve freedom, peace and security. Israelis deserve to also live in peace and security. But you can not infringe on the rights of one group. No matter what .

@ahmedahmed you are the FIRST Palestinian here on the internet so far, who has shown compassion and empathy for both sides, I've seen countless of Israelis shown compassion for Palestinians as well but not one Palestinian doing it, until now. I came to the conclusion that Palestinians are born without ability to feel anything for other people, like a form of what Asberger can be like. Or maybe just a thing no Palestinian has ever been taught by their parents and by generations it has stopped developing. You are exeptional, one in a million, take care of that empathy that you are able to feel and please try to talk about it to fellow Palestinians, tell them what it feels like. And tell them to GET compassion you also need to GIVE compassion.
I’m so glad the little girl is back home safe and so sorry her family had to live under the false impression that she wasn’t alive when she thankfully is. I also wish it was a different reporter covering this story. After so many lies, we’re craving truthful credible voices and sources.
What a lovely father he is. Very patient, just what this brave little girl needs. You can tell by his face how dearly he loves her. I wish them all the very best for the future.
There will be battle scars she will carry with her forever; but, she will heal. She will laugh again. She will grow and learn and love. She will have friends, meet a partner, and go on to have children of her own. She will eventually have hopes and dreams to strive for again. She will somehow recover. She is alive, and that is the miracle that we must all remember to celebrate her with ❣️🇨🇦
