It was actually based on the SLK platform of 1997-2004 model years (R170) so they only coincided for the 2004 model year. From 2005 onward the SLK moved on to the R171 platform.
5:58 NOPE. The SRT-6 only came with an auto cuz the Chrysler NSG370 transmission only had an input torque capacity of 272 ft. lbs. Not enough to handle the SRT-6 engine.

I have a NA Limited Roaster as well, and have the EC tune, larger throttle body and MAF housing. What a difference between stock and now! I did my tune in increments. I first got the Eurocharge tune. Power was noticeably smoother and i could feel a little more power. After i did my 74mm throttle body upgrade, i saw the car truly come to life. More instant power, a lot more mid-range torque Also, there is no longer a delay in gas pedal that plagued the NA. Sounds a little better too.

newb529 I find the seats in the SRT6 not as comfortable than a regular Crossfire for long distance traveling. But they are nicer looking with the suede!
Delay on the gas pedal is valid, its due to the E throttle. Good news is, it can be fixed with a tune on the vehicle which is recommended. I have the srt-6 model (coupe) myself.

My husband has a black convertible SRT6! It’s a lot of fun! I just wish they had the option of putting a manual transmission in!
philosophico Do you have any problems with your supercharger going in and out once the car is warmed up?
The six-speed manual transmission was not available on the supercharged SRT-6 model.
So neat,, i bought a non comfortable and feel too noticed with just that, cant imagine being even more looked at in a comfortable 😉

I have one in Black, 2006 w/44k original miles, one owner, garage kept! Nice little car. A little under powered unless you have the SRT6 but still a fun drive with the 6 speed. It's just and SLK with a Chrysler body. My biggest complaint is NO CUP HOLDERS! lol

I have a 2007 Crossfire Convertible. You have to be careful of the back glass windows. Sometimes they need to be re glued.
Jennifer Mill are you happy with it? Looking to buy a hard top limited. Any issues?
Inferno joe I have not had any problems with mine. Though with these convertibles it is known that the glass can sometimes pop out in the back and need to be reglued in. My husband has a 2006 SRT6 Crossfire and I had to re solder his driver seat module. The seat would no longer move front or back. But once I re soldered the seat module it worked fine. I have been told by other people they have had other modules go out too. But it’s a simple fix if you know where to find these modules and re solder them. Are you looking for a manual or automatic transmission?
Inferno joe Another thing to look out for is if the car starts fine but after it’s warmed up and you shut the car off, and it won’t start. That usually means the mother board has a wire that has come loose. Because they used bigger wires than what that mother board was made for and they put too little of solder on it. You can send it off for about $60-70 to get it fixed or do it yourself.
Thanks for the heads up. I am going to look at a couple in my area tomorrow. I live in Florida so the rains are bad here. So definitely are hardtop. Automatic preferably but if the miles and condition are right a stick is fine. I am a mechanic and good with wiring so that saves me a lot of trouble. I'm just surprised that researching these things to see they have very few problems. Other than minor things.
Hows the reliability? I might want one but worried about both Mercedes and Chrysler not so good reputation with reliability

Question: Why would a guy who speaks 1) very fast, 2) and in bursts, 3) and is inarticulate enough that to speak fast he has to slur his words and make them difficult to understand, choose a job narrating a vehicle review? It isn't because he has particular knowledge of this car which he doesn't. You could learn much more from Wikipedia. At least he doesn't appear too biased.

These have a great looking exterior but the interior plastics are absolutely horrible in quality as is the dash design in general. This car is a shining example of why the Chrysler brand is now dead, dead..and dead. The Mercedes aspect is cool, but was the first gen low end CLK and like many Mercedes it is also overly complex in systems. As a result of it being produced so fast by the oh so brief marriage of the two brands this car is also plagued with a lot electrical issues. You can pick one up pretty cheap but you'll pay 5x as much trying to fix all the issues.
@paul austin Well said, Paul. I own a 2005 coupe, blk over white and I find it fun to drive and very easy to maintain. I have a mirror camera front and rear that allows me to enjoy the low seating without visibility issues.
