@@joel9873 Yea but if a black car is ceramic coated it is much easier to deal with. My 2014 Camaro SS is black and has Shine Supply Beadlock Pro ceramic coating applied to it.
Absolute legend. That was such a satisfying conclusion to such an unsatisfying initial reveal of that car. The ending song was very fitting, because you indeed did, turn that car around.
S, I've been binge watching you videos and I don't think I've seen another U tuber detailer that cares so much about the quality of their work than you. You're work is incredible.
This has to be the best detailing channel on YT. Great camera work, use of music, and technique. After watching you work I would trust you with any car... wish I had the inside knowledge on someone near me.
All I can say is wow that was beautiful you are an underrated channel your editing style and music made the video so satisfying and awesome to watch will definitely come back for more. I would love to be able to detail that way it’s so amazing love the work you do!
Your work and your knowledge is stunning. It is a treat every time there is a new vid. it is just so incredibly genereous of you to share all of this with us.
This is incredible, watched the whole series and very very impressed with your work. I’m in the process of finding a zl1 and wish I lived in Australia to have you correct and coat it.
The difference from start (Video 1) to finish is chalk and cheese, and almost puts a tear to my eye, how beautiful it is after the treatment you did to it. It is a testament to your care, attention to detail, and unending patience in tending to the horrendous original state of this car's paint. Wow.... just wow!!!
So I think I already commented on one of the other parts but had to come back here and sing your praises. I just bought this same car in the same color (2018 metallic black, 15k miles) and i bought the car remotely. The car showed up with a significant amount of swirl marks and scratches, maybe not quite as bad as this one but similar. I went back to this video series and watched it again. I ordered some of the recommended products and went to work. I am a semi experienced detailer, but nowhere near your skill level but it still turned out amazing! THANK YOU!!!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing it was definitely challenging and I am quite certain mine didn’t come out as pristine as yours did, but still quite happy with the results.
What an awesome job, Sandro. You are truly a master at your trade. The Camaro ZL1 is my dream car and will someday buy one, but definitely not a black one. But your tips and techniques will truly help me with mine. I've learned a lot from your videos and plan to, one day, get myself trained in polishing, or at least get better at it.
Perfection from Sandro as always. What helped me the most as an aspiring detailer was your advice on doing a coating " first section wipe of light pressure wipe within the coated area second wipe off extend to blend in" out of all the videos I have watched you are the first person I have heard say that. Now I have the confidence to try a ceramic coating Thank u Sandro
Fantastic work, Sandro.👍 The depth of gloss in the finished shots is amazing, it really accentuates the beautiful lines and shape of the car. 😎 Thanks for taking the time to make and upload this series of videos, I have thoughly enjoyed them. It is very interesting to hear your thought process that leads you on, to deciding your course of action.👍
After watching a number of detailing videos on TH-cam, i must say your work is truly amazing. So glad we have such a great detailer such as yourself in Aus, keep up the good work!
spent years 18-21 working in a GM paint and body shop back in the day when the majority of what was done was lacquer. 50% percent of my time was buffing.....all we had was wool buffing pads....thick orange past compound....liquid compound.....and we use cornstarch when we needed a really fine polish................when i first seen that camaro, i thought.............OMG LOOK AT ALL THOSE BODY LINES AND SMALL ANGLED SURFACES........for no amount of money could i do what he just did...........no where near the patience anymore..............but that is some great work there brother.............BRAVO.
Amazing work Sandro and thank you for being so honest throughout this process, we detailers are not perfect and only do the best we can. I can understand the emotional journey of a 50 hour machine polish session though the worst I've had to do took 30 hours and it was a HSV W427 that had been waterless washed poorly it's whole life .. luckily Holdens paint isn't troublesome. I always enjoy watching your videos.
I appreciate that mate and it’s hard to always communicate and cover everything I should in these videos but I’ll keep on trying to make these videos better and more informative as I go!

Well Done ... Stunning Work as Usual .. I recently had a brand new Jeep trackhawk brand new with very similar issues...my PTG showed every panel repainted
Great job! I believe you had a few nightmares with this job! I had one similar, and was a challenge to just don't freaking out with that. I recognize you had a difficult work and I know how stressful it is. Compliments from this side!
Dayumm!!!!! That looks ridonkulous!!! 😆 i have to say i cannot stand seeing the red or orange side markers on camaros or corvettes. You can get the blacked out markers for under $150 us. Seeing your vids takes me back to that feeling after spending a good 3 hrs detailing my old camaro. I fortunately had some great detailers work on mine. I used ceramic pro premier. Such great products. Great work my friend!!! 💪😎
Absolutely amazing results. Bravo sir. As a detailer myself in las vegas NV I can say I have done several zl1 camaros and none of them had paint that poor or soft. This is most likely due to the car being made in Australia and possibly not the same paint or painting process Gm uses in the USA. Also I have measured thicker paint on the zl1 model compared to the SS I believe there is a difference possibly in the clear coat used on zl1 models vs the SS. I haven't done any lower model camaros so don't those measurements to compare.
I owned a 2018 ZL1, in basically the exact same setup... and this paint was exactly as the video shows you... it was a royal PITA across the board... but when it was done up pretty, man the car was beautiful to look at....
As always great video and great content. Results are always top notch. Soft paint is a pain to work on and coat. I need to find how to get this light into the states. I would not mind having it along with the Gyeon Prism light.
Hey Sandro, thanks for that video series. Really good watch and great end result. Bizarrely enough, I've recently seen a very similar problem - huge paint thickness readings but damn near impossible to work on ultra soft paint. In not saying its the exact same issue as here, but it is possible! It was a brand new Ferarri F8 Tributo. Paint depth readings all over the car in the 200 to 300+ range. It took major investigation, including a technician from Ferarri in Italy flying over, to figure out exactly what the hell was going on with it. He did a lot of back tracking of the cars build process and it turns out that, after the final clear coat stage in the factory, it had been failed by quality control because there was an issue with the shipment of clear coat they had been sent in that it wasn't bonding properly to the paint. So, apparently the clear was sanded off all over the car and it went back through the paint cycle again. The technician reckons thats what explains the huge thickness readings and the really difficult and touchy finish - its basically had two layers of base paint and then three layers of clear on top. Needless to say Ferarri took the car back to Maranello and replaced it with a brand new one. Which is good, because a sneeze in the wrong direction would have made the car look like it had been washed with a sponge dipped in a puddle!
This is the first time I’ve seen the application technique of blotting the coating in a number of places, then spreading it out. Do you use this technique on all of your coatings? Makes sense so that the area gets equal treatment. Another great video by a true master. Thanks Sandro and keep up the great work!
You always make it look so easy Sandro . I've only coated a few cars and hated it every time, very hard to get right for amateur mugs like me. Bet you'll be getting some repeat business on this one :)
Detailing like most trades is just something that if you do it long enough and are always trying to improve you’ll get a good handle on it, and it’s jobs like this car that make you better if you don’t give up even through it is quite a struggle to the end lol.
