You don’t need to change so much cash when going to Thailand nowadays as Faster Payment System (FPS) has already made its way to Thailand.
Hong Kong tourists can now make payments at over 8 million PromptPay merchants in Thailand via FPS. Whether it is shopping, dining, getting a massage or taking the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), you can pay through FPS.
If you see the PromptPay logo displayed at merchants in Thailand, you can make payments via FPS. You can simply scan the PromptPay QR code using your mobile banking or e-wallet application that supports “FPS x PromptPay”. After scanning the QR code, the screen will display the merchant name, the transaction amount in Thai Baht, the equivalent amount in Hong Kong dollars and the exchange rate. Verify the accuracy of all payment details carefully and then proceed with the payment. It is fast and convenient.
