The growth of characters in this anime is crazy, it's refreshing to see in a big shonen (multiple seasons of 25 episodes) so much changes in every characters
idk why but the english dub version of stain in that ending scene was much more intense
That civilian asked why Endeavor was there because this isn’t the city he usually works in. It’d be like if the Flash showed up in Gotham and started fighting the Joker
That is always funny in DC verse. I mean you have Superman and Flash in it which would do Arrow/Batman villans easy in their 15 minutes break :D

Genuinely love how Todoroki goes from “I’M NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS” to “oh my baby boo dropped his locash, gotta drop everything and get there NOW!” in like a week. Some anime protags use the power of friendship to win fights, Deku beat the power of friendship into this man’s soul.

Stain was and will forever be my favourite Villain of MHA. He's got ideals, conviction and will do anything to see it through.

This is the type of fights that everyone loves from MHA. High stakes fights with a very emotional undercurrent. Idia was basically acting like a bounty hunter when he went after Stain, which is obviously not great as he was basically willing to let the pro hero die if it meant he could get to Stain. By the end though he reflected but Stain is to rigid in his beliefs to accept that people can change. Funny enough he never actually tries to kill Midoria as he recognized All Mights attitude in him and wants more heros like him to live and be the examples. Todoroki was just plain in the way and I think he really wanted to freeze him but couldnt so he decided to kill him so he could kill Idia and the Pro and flee. This fight is one of my favs!
a low stakes high / emotion fight in the future is popular with people who don't just write off 2nd half of season 4
@@sea-envy3137 I think my favorite low stakes fight is when Deku has to fight a bit more Gentley* than he normally does. Is that the one you were also talking about? Trying to avoid spoliers
@@lego1591 but of course. calling his opponent openly by name would probably have been safe but spending too much time on avoiding spoilers is better than giving away big things. One reactor I watch someone dropped major hints about Brittney Karbowski's character.
big thing about Endeavor's instincts Shoto said "I got to check on something, send back up" and Endeavor does, he does not question Shoto he trusts that HIS SON knows what he is talking about
Stain has to be one of my top three villains, his ideology is one of my favs too
"I'm not here to make friends" to "My friend might be in trouble" thanks to a few words and Deku's persistence. It's not the last time we see it either. I'm excited for you to see the call backs to this later in the show!

I think "why are you here?" was said because heroes mostly operate around their agencies, and Endeavor's is not in Hosu. This situation was an exception though, as Endeavor went there to hunt Stain.
I'm not sure any villain in any show has given me the kind of visceral response that Stain gives me. He doesn't just tell me that the characters around him should be afraid, or that I would be afraid if I were there. But I, as a viewer, perfectly safe in my little chair at home, can still feel the pressure of his convictions.
The slow progression from a feel-good show to the students getting thrown into the thick of action is honestly fantastic. Very well done. That's what makes this show so good to watch reactions, too.
I think my favorite aspect of Todorokis growth here is if he never had that fight with Deku and kept to his idea of only using Ice, Stain would've killed him here because without Fire he has no good way to keep Stain back.
Stain’s speech at the end will always give me chills. And like most great villains, he had a point.

I can really understand the point of the Hero Killer about heros in this show. It´s very difficult to see Endeavor as a hero for example. Yes he has power but he is very selfish and not really a example for others.
But he took the most extreme wrong way. Nothing justifies to kill or hurt all these people.
He could have become a great hero, like All Might, or 13 . And than he could work to chance the system.
Sometimes I wish I could erase my memory and watch this show for the first time again. When I first watched these episodes I was so scared for the UA students I thought I’d pass out.

The song is 'Just Another Hero" and it (like all the music in MHA) is used first for one character/scene and then later cycled into moments for mood.

Stain arc changed how I felt about the show. It went from " oh another hero show , but wholesome kids " to " yeah this is actually metal as FAAAACK"
Seeing Endeavor fight like a showcase of what Shouto can do with his fire side
Endeavor being the number two hero has a location best suited for someone with the title of number two hero. Hosu City was typically guarded by small town heroes like who Iida interned with so the people in Hosu aren't used to seeing the best of the best just show up out of no where and save them.
Endeavor theme is my favourite one 🤍
This fight created so many complex moral questions within the My Hero Academia world back when it aired, and redefined the show and where it was going. Looking back on it now though, I'm still finding more little nuances here and there about Stain, his ideology, and how it fits with the rest of the story. Horikoshi (the author) really is a master at weaving complex societal and philosophical commentary into his story.

Honestly, the entire show always finds a way to have serious tension in some shape or form. Granted seasons 3, 6, and as of writing this, 7 seem to take it even further, but even "quiet" seasons like 2 and 4 are pretty tense in their own way.
Every hero is usually designated to a specific place unless it is needed to , fir example,here in housu , endeavour suspected the hero killer might be present ,thats why he is here. He is far from his home. Endeavour usually covers a large number of areas ,that is one of the reason how he solved the most number of cases in the history of hero association and made him the number 2 hero . All might is number 1 because of his high popularity and public opinion .
Watching it for the 2nd time got me emotional man, i guess i became more and more easy to get emotional bsc i watch some dramas like genre of anime lately
I find comments in the chat or here that hype up someone or something kinda sneak spoilery. like it creates an expectation. especially if the viewer is meant to go through that arc of emotions by themselves about how they feel about someone or a particular storyline

Fun fact not stated in the anime- the winged nomu was actually the kid with wings bakugo used to hang out with when he was little

and its a fairly significant spoiler to anime only watchers since the true nature of Nomus isn't revealed until much later but it's not like manga readers have ever cared about ruining things for other people.
@@gavinrad1 It's stated in the first season that the nomus are human though? Also, this is quite literally the chapter it's hinted at in the manga, it's not something that's shown later in the series so how is this a spoiler. That's like saying the author spoiled the reader by including it in the manga. Just check the extra page of chapter 56 in the manga.

Just a few things to note. These few episodes we got with Stain are very important to the show moving forward. Endever is the number 2 hero in Japan where the story takes place. This is when my mind got going on just how far Deku can go with this little hype boost just like yours I think. Just an interesting fact that I'm not sure you know but Midori menas green in Japan. Anime does this a lot. It sounds cool in English but his name is litterally Greeenya. And not to sure about this one but there is another character in an anime that litterally adds ya at the end of every name so not sure if that is just a joke or some kind of honoriffic. Japan has a lot of honoriffics depending on the circumstance. Like chan can mean kid or someone younger then you, san is neutral or senpai could be someone older or a teacher. English doesn't have as many that people use but maybe Mr., Mrs, or Sir as examples. Just studying Japanese a bit so not sure.

For all that Endeavor is a horrible person, husband and father, he is good at fighting villains and protecting civilians. Man didn't earn the number 2 spot by beating up kids.
It's like Demon Slayer and JJK with comedy all over but when the serious stuff starts it goes hard, so hard that you don't know if everyone is going to be fine by the end or not. I know one of my favorite characters whose death was in question in an anime I won't specify actually died in the last episode of the second season, when their death was abstract enough for you to go "but they can be healed right?" while waiting for the next season to know.
Spoiler, I looked it up in the manga and they actually died, so now I'm like I don't want to even.

This was peak MHA (i thought this was s1 tho FR) and after this, there still some good moments BUT they kinda start being less frequent. I stopped watching after around s4, after a certain fight, but know there are still some decent moments after but yeah, s1 and 2 were probably thr best

boku no hero stays away from the black/white, and even shades-of-gray, casting of people as righteous vs. evil. people's moral alignment isn't one dimensional; you can't characterize it as a binary value or a left-right slider. the show's clearly biased toward one 'side'; but neither side is categorically good or bad. the 'villains' are all human - just like in real life, every person's views and decisions are overwhelmingly informed by the developmental environment and experiences that they were diced-rolled into.

Not second best in the world. 2nd best in Japan. Japan’s heroes are a lot weaker compared to the rest of the world for a specific story reason.
In my opinion, this anime preserves its characters too much, after the experience of jjk, I miss death and destruction xd, it gives it more seriousness or something like that
