15:11 Yenyangs water Tools can be way, way worse for map making if you want to make a mostly flat map. Because Yenyangs water elevation is based on the height that you place it on. whilst the default tools use the actual map height to set the water elevation. which if you wanna change the depth or the underwater area or move the spawners around a bit troubling for the yenyangs atleast in my experience but hey im making North Holland as a map every height level counts! Also i hear ppl say you need to be really carefull not to flood your map. but when i work on my flat map the fastest way to get the river/lakes to work properly is just to 1st push too much water through and then just slowly lowering the height of the water spawners using the defealt tools so you can easily set them at the same height and just set the water sim to extra fast making the flooded water evaporate quickly, untill the river/lakes are not flooding anymore. that way your water flow direction is also correct right away. the other way around i keep thinking it was set but 2h in the water direction was still messed up,
yeah I ended up using the in game water spawners instead.. but thenmid at least gave me an idea of water level to set it at for the lake. The rivers are going to be tricky because it keeps flooding either way no matter what method I use. I will figure it out before next episode though
About the credit card topic - I just added an old credit credit card which is not active at all, and it worked just fine. I suppose you can also simply make up a credit card number and it will not really make a check if its real or not. So you can be sure no fraud can actually occur. About the video - I am stuck on city connections, I don't know how to do these, so I just hopes you covered this part as well... But all and all, good video, I made my home town thanks to your help :))
Right now I am trying to figure out how to do my rivers. Water is very delicate in the game and the slightest wrong amount can flood everything. They also changed up the Water Features mod so it works differently now in the editor.
I've been tinkering with map making myself. I also selected an area with a river/lake/dam. My goal is to actually remove the lake, creating just a couple rivers, but make it so that the player can build a dam if desired. Problem is I can't seem to get enough water flow to make a productive dam. The real life dam produces 75MW with an elevation drop of just 35 meters. I've not been able to come even close to that in game. I have, however, managed to flood my map a few times, which is painful! I'm starting to think that both the dam and water are a bit buggy in CS2.

I don't know if anyone has asked this question somewhere in the comment section, but when I import "Worldmap", the water around starts to flicker; almost looks like white noise. I don't know if that's because the water level outside the playable area is very low or if it's something else. I imported Heightmap and Worldmap and am building a city on Easter Island. Trying to understand correctly.. you started a new game with a map you created? or a fresh map from the game or you downloaded? I'm confused because if you starated with a fresh map, why was there a city in it already?
@@Kayambo974 You should only be building the city in the game itself not the map editor... the map editor is only for making maps that you are going to build on later when you choose new game and then choose the map.. There's a lot to set up in the actual map editor. Things I haven't gotten to yet. I'm not sure ... you got the png files? Imported correctly for height and worldmaps? I can take a look at your png files to see if thats maybe an issue... did you make sure to change it to cs2 on the terrain site?
Two things. The quality you get from that website, is poor. Buk ok, it's an easy, convenient way of getting a map made quickly. But next time, do it manually. I think the site sets water level, at a predefined level, that you can see on the options, on the website. There's no need to guess the water height.
Is there a map site you consider better? This is the one I found to be easiest currently. I looked around but didn't find anything. For the water I am ok with setting it myself as I am not doing a 1 to 1 copy of the area just using the map as a template.

It's ridiculous how it is so easy in Cities Skylines 1 to import heightmaps and then needing a scam website (NEVER give your creditcard info for "free" sites) to get heightmaps for CS2.
except its not a scam website.. its an official company that provides mapping info for developers and things like that. Its only free because you aren't using the sites data as much. The credit card info is when you start using a lot more data and then you are charged for going over a certain amount which is considered commercial use. In short though.. this isn't a scam website. Get your facts straight. I'm not promoting the company.. but this is the easiest way to do it and I have never ONCE not a single time.. been charged from them. Or had fraud on my card I used for it.
I don't get the $10 DLC only getting a "few" assets... Ya'll get doordash for $20 and its usually trashy, cold, fast food but you do it nearly daily and go broke for it. I would know this cuz I'm the guy you fools are paying to get you this stuff lol. So I make $50 in like, 1 hour depending on where I am at/if some sort of sports thing is happening that day. I'm also a chef, gotta love the grind, but I digress. $10 is nothing and if it is to you, maybe you shouldn't be playing video-games right now? lol But also, you have to think about the payroll. They need to keep employees paid right? not only that but they need job security, some way to keep a few years under the belt of work to be done. You don't just hire a handful of people for 2 years, make a game (like this style) and then tell them to pack up and find a new job. $10 bucks and their team gets to keep their families fed and minds at ease while they continue to work on the game? OK For less than 30 mins at my Chef job I make $15. DEAR GOD THE HUMANITY I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAD TO SPEND ALL OF MY MONEY!!! Hell! better yet I just found a $20 on the sidewalk the other day so I didn't even pay for this, I was paid! lol Do I think its a "good" DLC? no it really is lack luster they should have put more water front assets like Walls and beach things., I've spend $10 on dumber, 1-off things at a carnival, at least this is digital and lasts longer than my lifespan. And, I come from the era of cartridge games, that just work and don't need patches. But this new world we live in is different, patches and DLC and fixes constantly. Games are sold half a$$ed and don't pay off till a year later. You know why that is? INVESTORS. wants someone to b*tch at? go find out who funds them. They call the shots by threatening to leave if games are not out ASAP. Devs are not the issue here.
Thats definitely a hot take... and although I see part of what you are saying.... the other part is little out of touch. I,specifically.. don't use door dash. when I can save myself money and go get the food myself. And I am sure that many out there also do the same. I'm glad you make so much money delivering door dash. I did door dash for awhile, and was doing pretty good until it petered out in my area But I did well because of bonuses from DD itself not from tips. But that is beside the point. $10 for DLC is fine... when its something worth $10. What many people are complaining about is that what they got for that $10. Now I do agree.. that yes CO's employees do need to get paid and feed their families. But the decisions on the game, and the decisions on the DLC don't come from those employees.. and honestly.. the employees don't really see that money. The CEO's, and shareholders see more of it than anything. You hit on this some in your reply.. but honestly.. just saying people who are "whining" about the DLC because its $10 is dumb, Isn't the best position to come from especially after saying ohh.. I make all this money all day long delivering food in my BMW, I have because I'm a chef blah blah blah. Anyway.. What I am saying is don't brag about making money then say people who can't afford things shouldn't be gaming. That makes you sound like an elitist. Like.. Ewww look at all these poor people.. complaining about things.. It's not hurting me to pay $10 for something if I really want it but .. It's perfectly natural to complain if what you paid for isn't what I expected. Now I will also agree with the games being released are half assed, need patches right out of the gate etc. I too come from the OG console days. Atari... NES, etc. Games then were better in some ways because they were released finished instead of rushed out the door. One more thing I want to touch on is that.. I don't know why you chose my video to rant on. All I did was mention that people aren't happy with the game.. but in that same paragraph I stated I am content with the game and unlike others who are giving up on it.. I am sticking with it because I know that it will get better. This was a little small brief section at the beginning of my video. So meh.. whatever. I think you were just looking for a table to stand on to rant. But I digress. I let this sit here for awhile because I wasn't sure how to respond to it really. I know what I wanted to say.. but I didn't want to sound mean but it kept bothering me. Now.. as of yesterday.. Collossal Order themselves have come out and sad they rushed out a DLC that wasn't ready and not what it should have been and are refunding people. Proving that the peasants... as you seem to think people are who complained... were right.
@PHENIXXCREATES lol no bmw here. If you dont get door dash then obviously I'm not talking to you. So you save more money than most, k... its $10 bucks.

$10 bucks and their team gets to keep their families fed and minds at ease while they continue to work on the game? OK
For less than 30 mins at my Chef job I make $15. DEAR GOD THE HUMANITY I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAD TO SPEND ALL OF MY MONEY!!!
Hell! better yet I just found a $20 on the sidewalk the other day so I didn't even pay for this, I was paid! lol
Do I think its a "good" DLC? no it really is lack luster they should have put more water front assets like Walls and beach things., I've spend $10 on dumber, 1-off things at a carnival, at least this is digital and lasts longer than my lifespan.
