Thank you all for watching, and for the support. Thanks to Chris and Travis for the collaboration. This kit is in the back of the OLB 80 series right now and I know I'll be able to make a difference when needed. Quality medical gear is not cheap. Lots of questions in the comments about price. What you will find is that building your own on Amazon will be $146 MORE expensive than our price for Overland Bound Members! It will be $55 more expensive for non-members. Building your own costs more. Still, links to the item contents are located on our product page if you would like to build your own, just please be prepared! Get this kit or build your own before you buy lights! Don't be that guy with fancy lights who can't render aid when needed. -Michael
Finally, a practical kit geared toward real world use!! As an MD, I find most kits are geared towards "Wow" factor but skimp on the basics that are really needed. Dr. Solis has a pragmatic, real world approach which is why I frequently direct people to his First Aid Video. His advice emphasizes the use of simple supplies, in adequate numbers, that are easy to access and use. This kit is really expert advice with a product option. For those who want a readily available, complete, and appropriate kit, they can buy it. I can understand this as I'm a physician, yet I got stuck in analysis paralysis and took forever to put my own kit together. It's important to note that Overland Bound has made this advice and list readily available for those who wish to cobble their own kit together or make a smaller, simpler version. I commend Chris, Michael & Travis for what I know had to be a notable effort to bring it all together. Good work guys!!
The best kit is one you build yourself imo. I work in healthcare and advocate trauma kits for everyone but the vast majority of these premade kits are trash and most lack even a TQ. I always recommend someone get some first aid training (it's cheap!) and build a kit so it makes you familiar with its components.
I really wish people would take a First Aid classes. I would add a small tablet and pen. To write down info. The who, what, where, when and why. The more info you have you can pass it on if need be.
I rarely leave comments. Chris inspired my med kit I put together. I have to say the listed price is incredibly reasonable. Thanks Chis for preparing neighbors, friends and travelers.
The best... the one you train to use, and of course take with you. Practice with your kit. Simulate a laceration with ketchup and use some of your kit to clot, to wrap, and to tourniquet.
Chris - I'm a retired Navy Hospital Corpsman (26 years) and held EMT-Basic & Intermediate for years and even obtained EMT-WIlderness Cert through SOLO in New Hampshire. I climbed above all that with some Advanced Combat Casualty Care (SOF) training back in the day, also. I have 8(+) years of Ground Search & Rescue as well. I haven't touched a patient in over 20 years (PTS issues - which seems to be more controlled nowadays). Bottom line is that I miss having the ability when needed, but I'm also gettin' older and I've been busted up pretty good over the years. I've been thinking about putting together a good kit and have looked at many options. (I had a really one, I'd built over the years but it got stolen out of my vehicle many years ago. I like what you are demonstrating here and I may have to save some $$$ to snag that. I know that many protocols have changed and I really need to go back into the classroom but at my age, I don't know if I can (physically).
I like how this gives you a non BS base to work with and space to add to your level of your scope of practice / what you want . Only thing I think should be added to this bag as a base is an additional CAT tourniquet.
I am a 26 year medic last 18 as flight medic. I carry basically the same kit. The normal pre made kits are all fluff. Buy the kit get you a Free stop the bleed class and that’s step one.
Great video! As a combat vet, med kits are one thing you should never cheap out on. If a surgeon says it’s good listen! Great video and I will for sure be buying one in the next month. First time view and must say great content on this one and thanks for all the info. Be safe out there!
I just looked to see how much this is and it $500.00 +. I made 3 EMT bags for under 350. And it had everything they had in their bag that they are selling. I thought this was going to be cheaper than other bags. Amazon sells a full EMT bag with everything for every situation for less than 500.
Awesome kit!! Price not bad!! I spent over 100 dollars on just my oil spill kit alone. Think someone needs make nice little kit for oil spills/fluids that are not safe for the environment if something breaks! Helps keeping those trails open!!!
aaronsbraga I totally agree!!! Unfortunately there is no discount to bulk purchase of that and at $40ish a pop we couldn’t make it happen. We don’t even get a discount in the hospital and we use 100’s of units a month.
Awesome video! I have always used the Adventure Medical Kits as my base and then added to them (i.e. QuikClots and tourniquets) but this video definitely exposed some gaps in my system.
Earth to Mikey Earth to Mikey. I liked it a lot! Over. Another awesome video and a cool kit. Kudos to Dr. Chris and you. Although I'm rather partial to my S.T.O.M.P. kit. A small scale Hospital in a large field pack. Perhaps it's over prepared, but I rather have and not need. As an R.N. I can employ the full contents of kit. Cheers, Mate.

Snake bite is literally the scariest wound I've ever seen. It's so goddamn tiny, but you have to imobilise the entire extremity, and if at all possible the patient. It feels like freaking out over nothing. Except it is the exact opposite.
Yes I know A B C however....I have my M3 bag labeled Breathing, Bleeding, Broken and Tools (in that order) so anyone can grab it and know where things are.
Since I can’t get a response on the Overland Bound Forum I’ll try here, any updates on when we should be getting the final pieces of our Overland Bound 3-1 Kits?
They should be sent! Can you send your order number to support@overlandbound.com? I'm catching up over on the forums. You'll get a 24hr response time from support@ thankyou!
I ordered this first aid kit… never received the kit. Tried to contact for two months now. They canceled my order and still have yet to get my refund! Very disappointed!!

Doc surprised you didn't included something to flush an eye, a chem or thermal burn etc

A smaller car kit would be great. That big old backpack is too big for someone road tripping in a cramped car.
Awesome concept!
Your kit Israeli bandages(lots of) the red kit 4 pressure dressings (NAR). just saying.
Very helpful 👍
I would get one if I could afford it. But thank anyway
