- Honda made the XL 750 Transalp and advertised it as a road bike, despite having long travel suspension, 21in tubed spoke front and 19 inch tubed spoked rear wheels. No tubeless option and not even a 19in front wheel option like on the Suzuki vstrom 800 re. Despite this seemingly off-road design, I decided to take Honda at their word and put this midsized Africa Twin to the test as a road bike.
This is the first installment of my 24 Hours with the 2024 Transalp 750 in which I treat it like a road bike and only a road bike. I want to fine out, “if you never took this bike off road, is it still a good bike”. And I don’t mean to play nice. I rented this bike with my own money so I own no curtesies to anyone. I have no car, only have the means for 1 motorcycle, and it’s my main form of transit.
Make sure to see the first 5 parts in the playlist but, now, let’s just enjoy the raw view of riding the Transalp on the same road as the Tokyo Drift movie went on in Okutama Tokyo Japan.
Wait what? Japan has brake zones painted red on the pavement!!!❤
Lesgo another upload
Kool 😎 videos my dream to ride one day in Japan. I am from Los Angeles. Can I ask which you choose the transalp or the cb1100 ? I am debating whether or not? Both are gorgeous horses . I just plan to cruise not to Krazy.
These are dramatically different bike. Cb is an in-line 4 that makes less power (but in USA I think it’s even). Cb isn’t as comfortable and is heavier. But I’ve not ridden the cb. So ride both and see how you feel. The Transalp will be a better touring bike I would think. And I am a fan of traction control, it’s saved me more than 1 time on my tracer and helped 2 times in this video
@@KairyuRider thanks for much. Love the videos of the transalp what a beautiful Japan horse.
many youtube riders that say this bike dosent have much low end grund, either they are used to 130 ,and up, hp bikes,or,they dont know how to rev a bike.i d like to ask you two things...fisrt,do you know,as you live in japan, if this bike is 100% made in japan, and second what annoys you the most in this bike?
Yes, this one is made in Japan. I can say for 100%. Little thinks like lights may not be. But the important parts are.
Tubed tires make me mad, no cruise control too. Those are easy fixes.
The suspect was good enough. But I may want better suspension in the future, but by no means bad.
The only bad thing to me that can't be fixed, no oil sight glass. I don't like dip sticks. But that's not that big a deal
In isolation, it's my next bike.
@@KairyuRider what about tuareg 660?
@thodoris3790 my understanding is it runs a bit hot. But it is a technically better bike but with a bit less power. And not many dealers with questionable reliability.
Maybe in Europe it's okk, but in japan I'd be weighting months for parts.
And I find it very ugly 😅
@@KairyuRider hahaha,i have the same thoughts.i have an official dealer 15 km from my home(among other brands),but i dont think they can do anything if an issue come up.now aprilia ads plus two more years to the warranty in my country.but i dont plan to keep my new bike only four years...and yes the headlight is awful,as is to the vstrom..
@thodoris3790 my understanding is most bikes have all there trouble in the first few years. But aprilia is not very good with warranty claims for many people.
Their reliability seems to have gotten good for a European bike, but not honda good.
But if you want a bike to keep 10 plus years, my opinion is that honda will last more than 20
Try the Vstrom 800 DE please.
They don't do rentals or test rides anywhere I've looked. And I'm not interested in such a heavy bike.
Could i know what gloves you use and is there anywhere I can see the rest of you gear? Thanks in advance.
I have a playlist on KY riding gear.
The gloves are from "Five" but they don't make them anymore. I'm wearing a regular winter coat with the "pandomoto commando aaa" shirt underneath. Everything else is in the playlist
There is also a play list for the transalp where I talk about some gear in a few videos
@@KairyuRider Okay, thank you for the response and have a nice day! :D
The tracer is way better, oh lord i can only imagine my fj-09 100km all the time of course it's 900 but comom used tracer will be way more fun!!!!
I had a tracer. I've got videos on the same road if you wanna check those out.
I wouldn't say more fun. Different fun yes
@@KairyuRider Im in the unique position of having owned a 2020 tracer 900 GT and now own a transalp 750 since july 2023. It is fair to say u can not compare these two motorcycles. They are different in every way, and both bikes have pro's and con's. And neither is better or worse than the other, just different. For me personally, the tracer had a more fun engine but the overall comfort/easy to live with goes to the transalp. In the future i might switch to the new tracer 9GT but for now the transalp is nice.
@@Kevin97587 I had the same tracer. The vibration and build quality were behind the Transalp. The new tracer 9 is very much an improvement to the 900. If I was to assume I’ll be 100% a street rider, the tracer is the better bike and for no more money after we talk all the extras the Transalp is missing. But it also matters where you live. In Japan, 100km (62mph) is considered fast, that’s actually the highway speed for almost all the country. Back in the state I’d have to go for the tracer based on the bigger faster roads, but in Japan the tracer was just too much knowing every turn was a sheer cliff.
