🚆 4K Early morning rush-hour cab ride in Switzerlands biggest city (Switzerland | S21 to Zurich)

- Welcome aboard the S21 service, one of the few rush-hour only services in Zurich! These only run on weekdays during the morning and evening peak hours and make life easier for our passengers and ourselves. The S21 does not stop in Zurich Seebach and stops in Zurich Affoltern only in the main direction of travel, which depends on the daytime: On the morning trains inbound to the city and on the evening services outbound only. All this helps to relieve the regular S6 service on this route and enables a 15 minute schedule on the stations served, instead of the usual 30 minutes. It is also one of the shortest lines of the Zurich S-Bahn network.
That's the theory so far, now let's see how this works! We are on a morning service and you will notice how the day is getting brighter as we make our way from Regensdorf-Watt to Zurich. But it does not end there, I'll take you back up to Regensdorf-Watt, from where the train will make another run to Zurich. Enjoy the ride!

We are free to use any track in any direction. I don't know why we take the same in both directions though.

From the well trucks with chocks at the start/finish station there is a military vehicle contractor in this complex? With the platforms at Zurich Hbf being some 16 vehicle capacity is there times when short trains are stacked in disconnected multiples on selected track in the station to increase capacity? Is there signaling capacity to allow this to happen or does it need manual intervention (a man with a flag and a radio)?
EMUs get coupled and uncoupled in the main hall, but multiple trains on one platform isn't necessary in normal operations and would be very confusing for our passengers. It only happens in very rare cases, when everything else has gone wrong.

The 450 set interests me. The power car has this sliding door on both sides. at the rear. Is this to allow maintenance access to the motor?
It is the baggage compartment. An electric motor is barely any larger than a medium sized parcel.
@@RailwayEmotions interesting that a trainset used in commuter service would have a baggage compartment. I misspoke above, didn't mean the traction motors but all the equipment inside the locomotive like relay cabinets and such.
When these trainsets were ordered in the late 80s, baggage compartments were very common. Nowadays they are rarely being used. All the equipment is alongside the inside walls of the locomotive and there is a relatively comfortable path between it all. We can walk through the whole train, from cab to cab, with everything powered on.

That's the first time I've arrived at Zurich HB (virtually, that is) by that route, going round to the left of the entrance to the tunnel and coming into the furthest platform. That's more rare track ticked off!

Впереди только шпалы рельсы освещаемые фарами, и не видно очаровательной природы и не видно людей ! Вот впереди город и оживление! Море огней, знаешь что твой пассажирский состав кто -то ждёт на перроне и смотрит на Часы! А кто-то уже прибыл на вокзал и спешит домой, или в. Гости! А ты едешь дальше, прощаясь глазами с городом и едешь дальше, навстречу составы такие же пассажирские или грузовые и много много столбов с проводами ! Доброго пути тебе машинист! Пусть. Такой путь будет спокойным и пусть тебя после работы всегда ждали любимые глаза и радость! ❤
