Instructive as always. BTW in the second example I think Qf2 followed by Qh4 or Rh4 is mate in two and more straightforward than sacrificing the rook

For Black to move ...Qf2 is the fastest mate. And if White, there`s a defence - 1. Qc8 Re8 2. Q:e8 Kf8, so idea with qween capture looses as King has an escape square on f8. Or where am i wrong?

Wonderful lessons and a big thanks! Can you please change position two as the lesson has two mistakes in the analysis- missing mate in 2 and Qc8 Re8 looks winning as it stops the mate and black is up on material.

ok, good video and all but am I crazy or did you just neglect the fact that black had forced mate in 2 with (qf2+) (kh3) (rh4++).

the 2nd example is kind of weird - if it's black to move it's mate in 2, why would he care about white's threats?
