      @@GOLDENFLYWARRIOR I'm a cheap person. If I could find this car out the dealers door for $11,000 I would take it and drive the wheels off. (6 months ago that was possible.) I killed its big brother a 2010 Chevy Aveo with 178,000 miles, blew the engine and junked it. Biggest problem with the Spark is the 8 gallon fuel tank. At 200 miles you are looking for gas real hard. I am driving a Prius and my next car will likely be a Corolla. Maybe a hybrid. 13.5 gallon tank and 50 mpg at 500 miles you still have a 1/4 of a tank left. I lost the Aveo in a Naperville mall parking lot between a SUV and jacked up truck and spent 45 minutes looking for it. Panic buttons are nice for finding a car.

    I picked up a 2014 CVT version 2 weeks ago,, in Jalepeno green. Only 23,000 miles. My real observation here..just because it is slow accelerating, does NOT mean it can't go fast! It goes so slow, you forget you are accelerating, on the freeway, next you know, you look at the speedo, and going 95, and the CVT is only spooling 3.5 k on the rpm! Love this car. Solid, and planted.
    For anyone that doesn't know, the seats WILL FOLD DOWN FLAT. But you must remove the headrests first. Then flip down the main cushion, then you can fold the seat flat. :)

    • @dominiquedevereux7205
      @dominiquedevereux7205 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      YES. Every review I read b4 deciding on my 2017 said that it's horrible for the highway 🛣 in terms of acceleration in regards to trying to pass other cars ---- NOT true!! At least with my specific Spark, and again I have the base model LS in automatic. It accelerates easy to me & as you said, & I was shocked to discover how smoothly it runs at high speeds (people also said os drones loudly at speeds of 60mph & above), but thev1st time I got it on the highway 🛣, I thought I was going only 60mph & I looked at the speedometer and I was going 80 🤯!! It was driving just as smooth as my parent's Equinox & the Impala they had in terms of how smoothly it ran at high speeds without betraying its actual speed! Which is great in regards to the driving experience as a driver, but could get you into trouble with the cops 👮🏼‍♂️ 🚔 if not careful cuz it makes it easy to unintentionally go over the speed limit 😄!!
      In regards again to the loud 🔊 droning noise people complain about at high speeds, I wouldn't call it a droning noose, but moreso say it just makes the regular noise a manual stickshift transmission makes as the gears are shifting. Then when you reach whatever your constant/cruising speed is going to be (whether city or highway) then the noise goes away and what you're left hearing is just the low white noise of the road that you hear when driving most cars ---- even midrange & luxury models.
      Reading the online reviews made me wary to buy it, but after driving it, my fears 😬 were waylayed☺️. Which goes to show that N🚫THING accounts for personal experience!! And that's exactly why I could never purchase a car from 1 of those virtual 👨🏾‍💻 car dealerships like Carvana where you just pick the car you want online from their vehicle "vending machine 🤖" and they deliver it to your house without you ever having test drove it 😏. Yeah, I can understand it's appeal to people who may live in remote locations & car dealerships are 100s of miles away, or they are currently without a vehicle & have no one to take them to a dealership, but for me --- I'm one of those people who prefers buying things --- especially major purchases online so I can LITERALLY get a "feel" for them. Cuz had I just listened to the reviews, I would have passed on this car. "Driving IS believing!!"

Bumps scrapes, both my kids did their tests in it and got their licence!! Great on gas. If anyone tell you this car has no pep, they are wrong! She still goes 150 kms on the highway and feels like you're floating!! (Not that I drive that fast ever! Do not go over the speed limit!!) My car has 286,000 kms on it and still going. Almost time for a new one! Once I win the lottery I will be buying this car again!! Highly recommend this Chevrolet Spark LS! I also have to mention that this car has a ton of room inside. Don't let it fool you! More room than an SUV! Think you are too tall for this car? Nope!! Take it for a drive! You will love it! Your wallet will too!! Empty gas tank PTSD? Nah!! Fill it up!! Then go out for a nice dinner! You thought it was going to cost more to fill didn't you!!

I'll be getting one soon, I've also had a Camry in the past. I didn't drive it much at all and the battery would always drain out. Factoid: the driverss side door lock is electrically actuated so Chevy can unlock it for you if you accidentally lock your key inside (you call the 800 number or use the phone app). It also automatically locks the driver door when you drive away and hit 8mph or so, and unlocks automatically when you park and pull the key out. However there is NO remote stock or as an accessory. Chevy built-in the single door electric lock feature solely to deal with accidental lockouts.

    SAFETY: most accidents are single-vehicle - not car-to-car or car-to-truck. The predecessor to this generation did very well in IIHS (insurance institute) crash tests. As you pointed out there are 10 air bags! Knee airbags on both sides! If you want vehicle-to-vehicle buy the new Tahoe, if you want maximum fuel economy and easy parking, low buy in cost and long life, this is VERY well made and efficient, with very little required maintenance.

    Not a bad car if you get a decent price. In the us, some dealers will rip you and over charge for these so do your research. A dealer wanted me to pay 16 on a base model manual before tax and fees. Total rip so don't buy from the first dealer, do research ahead of time to avoid getting ripped off. Some dealers even call it a premium hot hatch to charge more. Out of 3 dealers I went to not one told me about gm incentives on a new one that would save me money. I didn't buy one

    The deal breaker is no cruse control. Having driven a Chevy Aveo 178,000 miles without cruse, I said never again. 9 gallon gas tank smarts across county. (One starts watching the gas gauge at 200 miles) In western Canada one would need a 3 gallon spare gas can. Out the door $11,500 or a used Corolla with safety sense would be better. Replace spare donut tire with full size bolted in spare tire if traveling. Tires always go flat on Saturday afternoon with no open tire shops till Monday.

I never carry passengers, and needed a hatchback, specifically to carry all my tools, for one of my jobs. Yes, there ARE definitely better 4 seaters (sedans) if that's what you need. But I don't need rear seats, just the stowability. So it's like a mini pick-up, that's covered. Again, depends on each drivers needs, and this is exactly what fit my needs.
