The person buying this phone (me), won't be buying it for games, internet surfing, facebook, IM. He will be buying it to do as a phone is intended, simply calls, long battery life and messages with the added perk of dual sim (useful for developing nations). If it's water proof then this is a plus too. I can't imagine how much money would would safe using old-school phones.
There are way, way, WAY better and cheaper feature phones for a person like you. New Nokia 3310 is not cheap, it's battery life is not the best in the category, it's not the most rugged and it's not even waterproof. It's a very mediocre phone in it's category, yet it's overpriced.
Okay, so which phone is better for people like me. :) I am very interested in buying a new basic phone as my recently died.
I just don't know what you expected from such cheap device. It's simple phone. Nothing special here, cuz main focus for Nokia is smartphones now. These features phones are somewhat marketing strategy or for basic needs. Seize your expectations.
I would expect sane pricing for such an average feature phone, given that there are better feature phones for less money.

I have some questions about the 3310. Older Series 30+ phones have the following limitations/bugs:
* Only 200 SMSs in memory at a time. Worse, it doesn't automatically delete old messages to make room for new ones; you have to do this manually
* Only 25 calendar items in memory at a time. No automatic deletion of old calendar items, so go hunt through the last few months to find the ones you forgot to delete before you can add a new one.
* No custom ringtones for individual callers or for calendar reminders.
* A weird bug where anytime you open a Java game, the volume levels of all of your profiles are set to 80%. This includes the Silent profile. It took me ages to track down why my phone was randomly ringing in meetings even though it was ostensibly on silent.
* The Bluetooth doesn't support connections to a PC for file transfers or for use as a portable modem.
* When typing an SMS, as soon as it gets to three or four lines long it starts getting really laggy.
How many of these are still around in the 3310, and how many were fixed?

I have the new 3310 and really like it personally. Sure, ideally I'd love to go back to the classic monochrome call/text only mobile, sadly the 2G network they ran on here in New Zealand was decommissioned a year or two ago......making those neat old phones obsolete useless paperweights 😭

Ahh those old days!! I still remember my dad's 3310 which he lost in 2006. But he still says that that phone was as tough as an iron rod. Infact, me and my father were so impressed by its durability that we named it as "The Terminator". Although he now has an iPhone 5s, but he still says that nothing as great as the good old Nokia.
Thanks sir for your review. This phone although is good in design, but surely seems complicated. Flashlight in old Nokia phones could easily be turned on by long pressing the up navigation button. Keypad also could be unlocked via star button. Infact my "retired" Nokia 1203 monochrome (which is still fully functional, was bought in 2009) is much more simpler than this!! As my college would be starting somewhere around mid July, I was thinking of having a less distracting phone. So I was thinking of buying this new 3310 but thanks to your video I am already cautioned out.
So can you please suggest me some basic keypad mobile phones which are cheap too? How about Nokia 230? I will be grateful.

Shortcut to the flashlight ist to push upwards
On the Nokia 225, which is also Series 30+, you can turn on the torch from the main screen using the "up" navigation button. Maybe the 3310 does the same thing?

It's a basic phone, just like they were back in the day. Personally, I like it, and will be getting one as a spare.

As a Nokia user myself, I can guarantee you that the Nokia 150 (2017) is way worse than the new Nokia 3310 (2017). Around 4 months ago, I bought the Nokia 150 and I absolutely hate that phone bc of how crap and buggy the OS is, limited features, ugly VGA camera (worse resolution than the 3310s 2 MP camera), no phone memory at all and the worst thing is that unlike the Nokia 3310 the 150's battery life is 3.5 days for me which is absolutely shit. After 1 month of using the 150, I sold it and bought the Nokia 216 which is more improved than the 150 as it has a selfie camera, dual flash, better battery life than the 150 of up to 2 weeks (though Nokia 3310 has 31 days of battery life), better-looking and easier UI and operating system than the 150 and it has more features (such as internet browsing, more games and a file manager) than the 150. I totally recommend the Nokia 216 over the 3310 (2017) and DEFINETLY over the Nokia 150 (Although the new Nokia 3310 does look kinda promising to buy but if you don't recommend this phone, then I'll just stick to my Nokia 216) :)

I got second thoughts after I tested the 5-way navigation-button after the initial release. It just too narrow and cramped. I never looked back. I stumble across this video and I realise that there was more to criticize.
There's always more but you see how many people got offended anyways.

A disappointment. Which is a small easy to use basic phone then if not this? Easy text messaging, calling and contact management - don't care about camera/web/music/games. Just want simple efficient usable phone with easy to use buttons/navigation.
There are loads and loads of feature phones from Nokia and other makers that meet your criteria and are better than this.
Im really glad i didnt buy it, it doesnt really look and feel nostalgic at all, and the price not really worth it for a dumb phone .

I have a 3310 the alarm is terrible you have to go to music to choose a certain alarm song and it doesn't play it for long only for few sec until it stops along with mp3 you cant do anything but playing and stopping them and you can't unlock your phone if you had a phone call if you put a password so you cant change the volume up or down phone numbers pop on the main screen even if you locked it and disabled the notifications without mentioning the terribly slow internet surfing and the TH-cam that always fails plus the Facebook app doesn't work you have to open it from Google it also work on 2g so not very good service and notes doesn't take much letters so you have to make more than one or two to write what you want so yeah it is not worth it ,get a nokia 3330 for 10 £ its better as a backup phone and cheaper than the 3310 old.

You are the only one who touched on the three things that made me decide not to buy this. I want a basic long battery life phone but I NEED to see the battery indicator. It makes me feel more secure! The orange theme. I hate the color orange and it pisses me off that there is no other theme option. I never played snake so I do not care about that. I wish they put more themes instead. THIRD... I hate having a difficult time prying open the back and the battery to replace my simcard. Grrrr....thanks for your very helpful review. You saved me money.

I don't see any reason to avoid to buy the new Nokia 3310. I've been watching so many video review of the new Nokia 3310 and most of them welcome it positively. It even stronger than the old 3310. So there's no reason to avoid such a beautiful feature phone. Unless you are really trying to compare it with a smartphone features. I think people like you never appreciate today's feature phones.

I also love the old Nokia phones, but you can imagine how expensive the old Nokia 3310 was compared to the new one with a bunch of features. The price might be too expensive in your country, in my country it only cost £42. And if it still overpriced too, we can always wait till it got cheaper. No big deal. Everyone happy.

Hristo Gunchev people gotta know the truth, because everybody here has a second phone for conversations only. 3T - great built quality, ok, display, ok mono speaker, great headphone output, great performance, ok battery life, ok camera. Conclusion? Get the Moto Z for £299 instead.
VoloKin Project In Germany Moto Z is 540 euro so get the Axon 7 better for 399 euros . I have seen a comparison between Axon 7 and S8 and was not a big difference between them in the terms of speed
Already got OnePlus 3T for 410 USD. I little bit disappointed by the battery life, but I was already spoiled by my MI MAX ;). The mono speaker sound is a little annoying. I had big doubt between Axon 7 and 3T because of that. Still missing the sound of my previous HTC One M8.
Hristo Gunchev I went with the Axon 7. I don't regret it one bit. It's a stereo monster. The stereo sound better than HTC
Glodan Mircea the SD820 still performs great, so you really don't need anything faster. They should work on improving the efficiency from now on and yes, for that price difference in Germany the Axon is the best option.
The idea of a Nokia phone having a camera, a video recorder, a flashlight, apps such as FaceBook, internet, a headphone jack, a slot for a Micro SD card, and even a radio makes my stomach churn... my first phone was a Nokia 3210. That was twenty years ago and it was perfect.
