It's honestly not too difficult to turn down a woman like Alicia when they are as transparent as her. The only ones who would accept her proposals are the ones really desperate for any kind of nookie.

Seven years ago my husband's best friend invited my husband to go out with him. My husband went, but he was back home 45 minutes later. Turned out his "best" friend was actually meeting up with a woman and that woman didn't feel comfortable going alone, so she let him know she was bringing a friend. So, he invited my husband so he could "entertain" the other woman while his friend spent time with the woman he was on a date with. In other words my husband's (now ex) best friend set my husband up on a blind date unbeknownst to him. However, the woman never went crazy like Alicia in this story. She was actually just as pissed off as my husband was.
We had been married 22 years at that point, so yes his (former) best friend knew my husband and I were and still are happily married. I think my husband was more pissed off then I was. But, have and still do trust my husband without question, and he with me. We've been married 30 years now, and we would not be married this long without trust.

Holy crap...a male lead who is loyal and has standards and the antagonist that is sooooo thirsty that she would sleep with the entire city full of men and still wouldn't be satisfied and thinks that streetwalking is beneath her.

Honestly, i like this ending. That girl is getting actual help that is desperately needed and is not left in an abusive situation. And the creepy guy is alone as he deserves. Karma can be highly entertaining, but i can't completely enjoy the endings where the idiots are left in a dangerous situation. Karma can be great and learning to not treat others like rubbish is essential, but learning by being on the other end of this kind of thing is not good and if the person is so dense and self absorbed, they're usually beyond hope anyway if they're that bad, so they learn nothing.

Um. None of this is a consequence of her actions, she is financially independant and a grown woman. Almost every bad thing happening to here is something she is either making a conscious decision to do or failing to extricate herself from. She didn't go to the police about her stalker. She chose to marry this guy who was all red flags. She voluntarily followed him to his parent's house and stayed there because she doesn't have to go anywhere with him. She had to go to the psyche ward of her own free will, since none of her behavior rises to the level of emergency intervention and absolutely nobody can 'make' her. She voluntarily stays in the psyche ward, because she is an adult who can, like, sign herself out. It might be against medical advice but they can't just hold you against your will without legal intervention.
Speaking of court orders, they had to have ignored a lot of mail and notices to get to a point of police intervention to evict them. The police won't just do that for anybody who tells them the occupant didn't pay their rent, and then they need a judgment to force back rent collection. Not that they aren't owed it, but again it doesn't quite work that way. They'd get their wages garnished if they refused to pay, probably.
In summary the epilogue is unsatisfying because it describes a person who has full power to improve her situation but inexplicably won't. It's not even like a long term learned helplessness situation. She's spent so little time with this guy and took care of herself before that.
For once a we see a good man thank goodness
