I am a Serato DJ user: Is this the answer to my frustration I have had for years & years... Here it is: My hard drive with the Serato music on it is a disaster. I have a hundred or so folders and subfolders with music in them. They are in all different places. Example: Feb17, Rock old, hiphop sub-record pool sub-august sub-must play.... Can you understand what a mess I've made. My Mac is starting to slow down. Now on my Serato software I have a crate named hiphop, rock, house, oldskl, etc... They are all looking good even though they are pulling from many different folders and subs on my drive. Can this Tip Jay has given help me clean up my mess?
@SeratoTutor I know u stated u shouldn't or couldn't copy all your crates to an ExtHD or FD using this method..This procedure is much easier than previous ways to copy ur library onto an external device so can I move 100 crates (65GB of music) onto an extHD this way or do u suggest not using this method?
Is there any possibility to SYNC the crate you've already copied to your USB flashdrive about let's say two weeks ago and you want it to update only the new tracks you've added to your crate on your main computer? In order to avoid deleting and copying everything over and over again.
I’ve transferred my crates onto an external hard drive. Out of my 11 crates, there’s literally 1 crate that the tracks are yellow. I can even drag the exact song within that crate for “all audio” and it plays fine. Just won’t play from that particular crate 🤷🏾♂️
I can't find the folder in the flash drive or my external drive after I copy the crate from serato DJ. I shows that its copying but the file does not appear in the external drive folder

Im assuming if crates are disappearing, maybe you need to go in "SETUP" and click on "Protect Library"...maybe this will help.

Hey Konix, what happens if you go to the "All" crate and copy it over?
This can be a great way to thin out your library as well.... Get rid of songs you don't play as often and such...
How do you transfer ALL of your crates to a new laptop? I have a lot of crates.. I basically want to just make an exact copy on a new computer.

this works on all version of serato or just the new one????
I did this. But my G-Drive (MS-DOTFAT) doesn't show up on to another DJ's laptop
