- I built 11 apps in 2024 and made a whopping $12.
Here’s what I built:
1. A social app to find the best budget-friendly restaurants in Vancouver
2. A website builder to help CS students create portfolios in 5 minutes
3. A job board to help new CS grads find junior-friendly jobs in a tough market
4. A tool to convert videos into SEO-friendly blogs in 2 minutes
5. A team-driven brainstorm app to make daily standup meetings more engaging
6. A news aggregator to personalize how people in BC read news
7. A Chrome extension to quickly fill out login forms with test data for .NET apps
8. A map to help tradespeople find porta potties easily
9. A platform to collect all things related to the number 37 for number enthusiasts
10. A tech venue aggregator to help people find event venues in Vancouver
11. A gamified quiz map to help people prepare for the Canadian citizenship test
Here are some learnings I’d like to share:
What I did well:
I learned how to ship fast, stay lean, and focus only on the necessary features to bring an idea to life.
What I need to improve:
I neglected marketing-severely. Marketing isn’t just one skill; it’s an entire craft. You need to hype your stuff up, build suspense, and talk more about your work. Deep down, I’ve always hated yapping. I wanted to build and let the product speak for itself. But in this digital era, I’ve learned that you need to both show and tell.
Here’s the harsh reality: even if you’ve built an amazing product, if nobody knows about it, it’s literal dog shit. No matter how optimized your code is or how innovative your features are, people simply won’t care if they don’t hear about it.
Looking ahead to 2025:
I’m pledging to focus a hella more on marketing. I’ll be sharing my wins and learnings as I go. To everyone who liked, reshared, or gave feedback on my posts - thank you.
No more hesitation, no more half-measures. This time, I’m going all in. It’s do or die.
See you at the top. 🚀

@@runbuilds Never heard of it. Thanks, I will look into it
@@XC11-t3s 👍
@@runbuilds Do you think you could maybe talk about it in one of your next videos ? I realy want to see it implemented in a real project. I'm struggling to understand how to host it, how much would it cost to host etc.
It would be really helpful, thank you.
@@XC11-t3s planned, stay tuned!
