its surprising not as difficult as ppl perceive...they tend to get them self riled up... but I would recomennd a 12 gauge to start lol.. at 9mm you basically have lil recoil to adjust to it

Hey taofledermaus you might want to try sealing them in the shell with wax to provide some resistance like a crimp would. just stick a layer of hot wax around the edges of the place where the shot cup meets the side of the shell. It may or may not work better but I don't think it would make it any worse.
that's so cool! it totally makes sense that you could just scale it down and still have it behave the same way aerodynamically and ballistically. I wonder if it could work in an even smaller format like a custom tooled 9mm cartridge. I imagine that would be absolutely useless because of how small the projectile would be, but it'd probably also penetrate much farther into the material because of its small size. it's so interesting how something that looks like it shouldn't be able to work at sub-sonic speeds flies amazingly at supersonic speed. the extra 5 percent or whatever might be just enough to drive it all the way through a 3/8 inch plate
In the past I have used contact cement and that worked ok. Wax doesn't stick very well.

Jared Conner if you literally scaled up the proportions, the bullet would be too large and heavy so it would either move very slowly or the required powder charge would destroy the gun and user
