How to drive Nurburgring by someone who knows what they are doing

- An experienced driver, Dale, from Rent4Ring taking me round the Nurburgring in my Nissan GTR.
At the end we catch up with a Porsche driven by an Italian who just won't move over until the end of the lap by which time we are going in anyway. Dale the instructor does his "Italian driver" impression!
The experience this guy has it's quite obvious, just seeing the way he overtook that car at the foxhole or during wehrseifen makes you realize you're watching a true nordschleife veteran at the wheel. Thanks for uploading this man.
It´s really nice to see somebody driving so fast and knowing what he does. And at the end he shows, that he is a real Champ, letting the guy in Porsche his "win". That´s cool! ;)
I enjoyed this video immensely as I was able to watch the throttle and brake application and the speedometer at the various corners.
Shame Dale stopped doing this, giving instructions from the passenger seat and also showing things from the driver seat. He only drives the Ringtaxi now, no more coaching laps from the passenger seat. He talked about it in another video, there were several people who drove like maniacs, but one in particular was driving very dangerously and wouldn't even stop when Dale told him to, instead saying "but i paid for it!". That was the last lap ever for Dale giving instructions from the passenger seat.
Dale is so competitive! Even holding back he sees a car ahead and goes for it ;D
What a nice instruction and nice drive. I plan to visit Ring in May so I appreciate clever videos like this.

Thanks, it was Dale who was driving as my instructor. He's very experienced and a great laugh. I have some vids of me driving but they are nothing special. I am going to Poznan in Poland in a couple of weeks and will be taking my Hero3 fitted to the front of the car so might put up some vid when I get back.

That Porsche needs to be taught a lesson.

Funny how people are hating on porsche drivers, while at the end there are 2 porsches that do let people passed ;-)

If you stop the video at 55 seconds in you will see the large frame work on the left of the picture. This was the week before the German F1 held at Nurburgring last year. They built a load of seating on part of the track that overlooks the F1 circuit. So all the track day cars had to use a slip road to get onto the track which slows everyone up and messed up the timings. You can see everyone going in single file to get on to the track at which point the GPS resets to 0 for the next lap.

Only if you never intend to drive the real thing. Forza and GT are great simulators but when it all goes wrong just hit restart. You can't beat watching and then doing it for real.

Great video. Ignore phillip he's obviously never been on a track before..You were very mature to let the porsche go. I hope he sees this video and realises you were cruising behind him on part throttle. Have you got any videos of yourself going for a lap time? I'd love to see your driving when you are on the edge.
Agreed. Not worth pressuring him, he might make a mistake, and always good to keep emotion out of the driving.

It feels longer because you are driving it slower than Dale here :-P
This instructional video is very conservative tbh... Why would you not use all the RPM's in a gtr? I know it has alot of low down torque, but still.... It was very quick though especially concidering how bussy it was and with 2 crashes...
It's conservative for a very good reason. The instructor wants the car owner to take in everything he's saying. You won't learn the turn in points and brake points if you're going flat out right away. Speed comes with confidence, confidence comes with knowledge, knowledge comes with slowing down and learning the yrack
