I bought this over 8 months ago, praying it would be something I loved. The price was right for me, and I thought the dials were exactly what is needed for getting the right pressure. I was not disappointed at all! I love it! It is the best machine out there in my opinion. :)
This video is 4years old. Please do an updated video showing how it works with the newer products like 3D embossing folders, the BetterPress system by Spellbinders and the glimmer system by Spellbinders. Thank you.
I absolutely love my 6" machine and choose this over both my Spellbinders Platinum 6 and my Gemini Jr machines for everyday use. I am a paper crafter and almost exclusively die cut and emboss cardstock ranging from 80 lb. to 120 lb. in weight. I get 100% consistent results every time. No disconcerting cracking sounds, no plate warping, and while the cutting mat does need to be replaced to do so is cost effective. I typically replace my cutting mat once a year. I also love the 13" surface. I can either many items or just put a few at the top and roll back and forth. Easy peasy. Thank you Bira Craft for creating such an innovative and reliable die cutting and embossing machine!

I just opened my newest toy... A Bira Craft 6 and 9 inch Cutting and Embossing Machine and I cannot wait to play with it. Since I felt it was lacking some major operating instructions I went to my computer straight away and found the above instruction tutorial. Thankfully Bira Craft thought enough of us novice card makers to show us the best and easiest way to use their machine. So thank you for that. Now I wish there were more tutorials to accompany this one. I learn much faster if I can actually watch how a machine is used as opposed to reading about it. Guess I am more of a right brain thinker but a creative one, too. Having said that I hope Bira Craft sees my comment and puts up more tutorials. I would love to see all the various and fun ways to use this embossing machine. Well... I'm off to my craft room to create more cards.

@@biracraft2791 I'm on here reading your replies, i feel that the Bira company should have offered at least one free die sample of some sort & definately some very understandable paper instructions, this way your customers wouldn't have to take time out searching for it online, like i know that i'll have to do, if i buy this particular machine? , just keep in mind there are quite a few die cut/embossing machines for us to choose from. But with this said, i do believe now that i'm right here, that these instructions above will be helpful. I saw that there was a magnetic platform for the 6” Bira. It wouid be nice if a magnetic platform was offered wirh the 9” machine and also available seperately for those that might want that as an option. I have the 9” machine and I love it. I love that it does it all! It can use the foiling and letterpress devices offered by other companies, as well as embossing, die cutting and it even works with steel rule dies! Up till now my Sizzix Big Shot was my primary machine ( I have several other machines that I’d use when I couldn’t use the Big Shot) but I think this 9” Bira will be my primary machine now! I have used 8 different die cutting machines , manual and electric, so I’m experienced wieh die cutting machines. The Bira is simply amazing! Great price, compact design, and does it all!
I've been putting my sandwich in backwards the whole time, with the cutting mat on top instead of the white platform on top 🤔 Yet I still got really good results in spite of it lol. I love my Bira Craft machine 🥰 And my Stamp Platform as well; it's the bomb! 😊
Yes, there are variations that you will discover. It's versatile. For example, my favorite, 3D embossing, can be done by removing the top plate and rollin it through, so we encourage experimentation---apart from the proper use of the cutting plate, that is! That's important.
Hi Jamiek, this is also Jamie K.. :) What is the trick for sizzix embossing folders? The Bira seems to kick the plate up and I'm afraid to force it through.. just got it today, don't want to break it, but its a tight fit.. any tips? or tricks?

I have one exactly like this, it is just called something else. I've had mine for about a year and it is my first embossing and cutting machine and I really like that I can use all thickness of dies and embossing folders in it. The cutting plate also seem to be sturdy and this price suited me.
This is my first and favorite die cut machine. But I do use it platform side down. Now I see this, I don’t know if it matters which side is up or why. It’s a nice big machine. I was naive and thought my dies would live in the little compartments but… ( look over at box overflowing with die cuts) I was naive if I thought I’d me satisfied with only a few.

How can so many people claim to have the NEW machine in their name when Bira plus others have their name on it too/ Who does it belong to? I have the Bira 9 inch machine & love it!
I just got the Bira 9" and love it! Have you run into any issues? Took me months of research to choose it and did see Gina Ks looked identical. To make sure I wasn't getting a lesser machine, I zoomed in tight on photos, compared weight, etc. The only difference I could see was color. I do think Gina K seems more motivated though. She does offer a 3 mo warranty, but I couldn't find one on the Bira. It is possible they use the same manufacturer. Son sells non-crafting stuff and he has his brand printed them -it's common practice.
I just got my new Bira machine today, 1st embossing folder went great, but the sizzix embossing folder did not. Seems like its too thick and I've made adjustments and it either kicks the plates up like its doing a backwards wheelie or there isn't any pressure at all.. Any suggestions?

I'm a a bit confused with the embossing die. Why do you have to run it through two times? I thought I just watched a video of the Sissix ( making Tim Holtz Village), and it only went through once. This was a big item I want to make and just want clarity. Would a embossed die need to be run through 2 times on any machine, or just this one?
Hello Katy. No, you should not have to run it through twice. Let us solve this for you. I'm sure you're using the setting adjustments and checking that the machine is set to 2D or 3D embossing. We also need to know the sandwich you are making and what kind of embossing folders (2D or 3D). Yes, it does, just remove the top platform altogether and roll it through for thick, 3D folders. Then you can adjust the pressure to tighter if desired. It is one tip we've been meaning to add to our video.
@@biracraft2791 l am having a problam with some of the folders blending over the paper where there shouldn't be anything. And if l go smaller to keep from getting them, then l don't see my 3d effects either.

Hello Lori. Yes, the cutting mat should get marks on it from the dies. But only the cutting mat. It is normal to need to replace cutting mats depending on use. Also, please be sure to flip over and use both sides as well as place the dies in different parts of the cutting surface for longer life. Hi I just got my 6 inch machine and happy with the regular thin dies cutting, however I had difficulties to run thru it with my 1/8" thick dies. I could not use the regular base platform nor the adaptor. Please help.

I got this as a gift and was soo looking fwd to use it. However, my excitement did not last long. In the 6 inches box embossing silicon pad is not included, neither I can buy in Canada. I contacted the Bira's customer service number, a girl who answered phone was soo lost and I realized she was pretending she was writing down the info I asked her about. She promised she will figure out how to help, she NEVER called back, she never send an email...I do not know what to do, since on Canadian amazon silicon pad is not available, basicly my machine is sitting on my table useless...and it is not cheap product. Very disrepsectful attitude towards customers after sale.
If you're still looking, I couldn't find one anywhere for my 9" machine. The silicone pads for sale are 2mm thick, so got a (clear) 2mm thick silicone rubber countertop pad and it works great! (Whisper, and it's cheaper so you can buy big and have extras!.)
@@cococho2767 Tried to answer, but it disappears -maybe because I mention the Big A? Can search 2mm thick translucent silicone mat. Use platform to measure and cut a smidge smaller. Easy to cut with scissors. Good luck!

Love the machine but the thick embossing folders do not go through.

Where can I purchase the steel rule dies. On the ad it shows a flower set and then a heart set but I cannot seem to find any place to purchase them.
There are many online platforms that sell steel rule dies including Amazon, Etsy, Ebay and the major craft stores.

We do not recommend any particular vendor and do the same internet searches as our customers to research the best solution for custom work.
