I have a 2005 H2 with 130,000 miles on it at the moment. I daily drive it and bought it with 99,000 miles. When I first bought I I was worried if I made a mistake. Now after owning it for only a year and a half I do not regret it. I’m also a GM tech and maintain the vehicle myself. To see a properly maintained H2 last 600k plus on original engine just blew my mind !!
@@julianmartinez6825 I’m owner of service Hummer H1 Garage, that work with H1 only;) And I’m work and travel on my Alpha… For off-road I have HMMWV M1038. My wife use H2…
I got 380k out of mine with the original engine and trans I was the original owner and sold it running 3 years ago and I still see it putting around. I was a tech for GM back in the day it was my first ever big dumb purchase and I got a huge discount on it. I really want another one.
@@PredatorInc I didn’t drive the hell out of it either I used to pull a small trailer for my motorcycles all the time I was good to it. The thing that surprises me the most is the paint and interior still looked brand new on it when I sold it. I’m currently looking for another one in black.

"Duramax couch" well that does describe it pretty well. Don't mind me, I drive a Hummer H3 lawn chair with a 3.5 "I hate my life" 5 cyl. I wish they put both a turbo and brass bearings in that damn engine. I really do.
dude, gas wasn't $4 a gallon twenty years ago...It was less than half that...and the lowest I ever averaged was 10.8 mpg. It would get 15 mpg cruising at 45-50mph
Had mine for 16 yrs and have 297,000 on 2005 H2 6.0.Same here went full synthetic on every change and full serviced religiously.Had overdrive go out in Tranny at 190k and had fixed and didn’t need rebuilt just repaired😂I pull a 14ft tandem trailer with a 2021 Can Am X3 Max still when I go riding SxS❤
love the vlogs and love seeing builds like this but I wish everyone would actually explain what they're doing and why they're doing it instead of awkwardly getting a camera stuck in their faces lol
Lol. We make every effort to get them to speak tech as much as possible. However, on nights like this, they are attempting to concentrate more on the marathon run of the build. There are numerous tech vlogs on the channel that cover the same types of builds.
I hope “the weak link” in my hummer gives me 500K…hilarious comment. I have 178K, still running strong…done some pretty stupid things with it. Happy Trails everyone!
@@PredatorInc still amazing. How long does the full conversion take? How long would you need to keep my truck? What's the most HP and torque have you guys been able to get out of Duramax on an H2?
2003 H2 , 105k All stock except for replacement LED running lights and headlights. SO we never even heard the thing run???? Kinda crazy let down, No test drive, no nothing . At least we heard the original engine run
At 196k I changed the transmission for the first time it's my dream car I hope to hit 999,999 with it no matter how many engines or transmissions I need 😂😂

Can't say without seeing it however I would doubt it. If it's going to break or fold then it's going to happen with your 6.0L engine. We have done extensive rust repair before so repair is possible.

"Nothing." Hahaha

Does the conversion end up California Smog Legal? 2006 H2 needs 06 Duramax emissions?
Yes it must go through our CARB Smog process to be California smog legal.
