I just got my Meatstick 4 and couldn't understand what made it 4 in the app? Thanks for shedding light on this. Going to return this if they don't bring back the 4 temp display as that's the highlight feature.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think the 4 sensors will return in a later firmware update. The fact that the GUI was there, means a lot of time and money was invested in developing it so I think it will make a return after launch
About your beercan chicken..perhaps the probe's position on the top put it too close to the grill cover..and it might have been hotter than if you put it lower down on the bird. away from the metal cover....???
Its maybe the first with 4 sensors, but only because the Predictive Thermometer from Combustion Inc has actually 8 sensors :D And it started shipping to customers end of last year..
You spend a lot of time on "distinguishing design". Why? We're halfway through the review and you finally get to the features. I came to your review to understand the features, not how good it looks. That's pretty easy for me to judge from a website. I gotta tell you, when I cook outside, I'm not spending a lot of time admiring the design of the holder.
This review is intended for someone who has never seen this product before which is why I go into details. I have added chapters so viewers can skip to the parts they want to see
@@kolddk Yes and no. Yes, you can skip if you know that there is a particular place where actual content will be, but how do you figure that out? Confession: I didn't look at the description box where videos sometimes have a timeline for skipping. I don't know about you, but I have a list of subscriptions for channels that provide the balance of information, production values, and entertainment that works for me. I'm not going to stick with a channel that spends a lot of time trying to look cool and where the aesthetics of something like a wireless thermometer are dwelled on vs. usable information. I am certainly aware that "you can't please all the people all the time". But maybe my thoughts are shared by others and would be useful to this content creator. Or not. It's also easy to press the ellipsis and select "Don't recommend this channel" -- which I have done. BTW, as long as criticisms are stated logically and without meanness, I think they are as fair as comments like, "Oh this is so fantastic!" I think particularly for content creators with small-ish numbers of subscribers, negative viewer comments need to be taken into account without ego. There is a lot of competition for eyeballs and unless this guy is just doing videos for the fun of it, making adjustments to audience feedback makes sense if he wants to grow his channel.
How cool is the 4 sensor design? Let me know your thoughts below!🎉

Yeah, I hope they do an update soon to bring that feature back.
@@tomwadek I'm encouraged to hear they may bring back the 4 temp readout again. Very soon as I understand it.
Pretty good review. Getting rid of the 4 sensor readout makes this thermometer much less fun.

Any update on this?
What internal temp did you cook the steak to at 6:50
Hi, it was medium rare and after resting it reached 132F
@@tomwadek What temp did you pull it off at?

Thanks for the suggestion! Happy grilling

I would love the try out the one from combustion! I asked my team to reach out. It looks awesome and I love how compact it is.
@@tomwadek it’s excellent. I’ve had mine since the beginning of the year.
@@Kirko_bangz put a good word in for me! Lol
How does it compare to the Thermopro Temp Spike
I’m not sure I don’t own that model
@@tomwadek think 4x will come down. In price
thanks again!! :)
As always, thank you for watching! I think you’re always the first to watch and comment 😀
I wish they'd put more effort into their app, it looks extremely dated they should take a leaf out of meaters book.
I loved seeing the 4 sensor gui. It was a nice feature so it was sad to see it go.
@@tomwadek tbh you dont 3 intake sensors it's just a gimmick 1 is perfectly fine.

You know you can like skip to a certain part, right?

lol it's nerd stuff for food at this point :p
I pass on this, of course it's more accurate than my senses, but i don't think it's necessary
Honestly, it was really cool for my experiment. I really liked seeing the four sensor readout.
