    Cap, I'm sure you've heard the US just recently successfully launched an AGM-183A ARRW in the south China Sea. Will you make a war game to show how this could be used? Thanks

      The ARRW is not a anti ship missile ....more for like hidden surprise mainland strikes.....and yes the last all round test succeeded....uncle Sam has a big choice to make now that it works 15 to 18 million per missile...HACM is coming along but taking its time. 2025 are proposed flight tests.

      As long as the carriers are properly defended with several destroyers and cruisers like in real life, you can have air superiority anywhere at sea which is powerful, and the aircraft have quite a range of different weapon options too, america has like 73 destroyers and like 13 cruisers which is plenty to protect several carriers, but they are always going to be a huge target, especially for the advanced anti ship stuff the other nations are building.

    Holy hell that opening barrage was insane!! What a raw show of the power of modern combined naval forces!! This was excellent from start to finish. Well matched by both sides in pretty much all aspects. I agree with the end assessment, a tactical win for the Blues as the Reds would certainly have to retreat after using all ordinance and losing it's entire airwing. They would honestly be lucky to make it home in that state, especially the one 055 which was on fire. Tops in this one for me in each coalition goes to Dark for the Reds!! His social credit score just went up by 80% easy!! 🤣 For the American Blues I have to give hats off to Fire for coming in to bail out the allied anti shipping!! For the Filipino Blues, Poosh is now a decorated hero of the Philippine Air Force, and can expect a warm welcome at Clark AFB and Angeles City afterwards!! I Loved this one!! I spent a good amount of time in several parts of the Philippines in my time in the Marine Corps. They would absolutely pull another of moves that you guys simulated with the grounding of another ship if China pulled off some aggressive move like this and shots were fired. That would most certainly turn into a fortified atoll. Damn fine mission Super Cap, and damn fine flying as always Grim Reapers!!

    From what I understand, 2-4 of the FA-50s the Philippine Air Force has is already upgraded and integrated by Israel's Rafael to use Phyton 5 and I-Derby missiles, though they can only use Mavericks for surface attacks for now, but Rafael is also offering their sea breaker anti-ship missiles for the FA-50s and FA-50 can carry two of those missiles. Philippines is also in the process of acquiring multi-role fighters and it's highly possible that the Philippines will have F-16 with the assistance from the United States, while the Philippine government would acquire Jas-39 Gripens. The Philippines is also in the process of receiving their land-based Brahmos anti-ship missile system, 3 batteries of it. The two frigates the Philippine Navy has have C-star anti-ship missiles which is also from South Korea, and the 2 corvettes and 8 OPV that is already under construction in south Korea will also have the C-star anti-ship missile system. The 3 Hamilton class we recieved from United States is already upgraded with modern combat management systems and sensors that can now use harpoon anti-ship missiles though the Philippine government has not yet decided if those three Hamilton's will be up armed with missile systems.

    I heard recently that while the U.S. missiles have a smaller warhead they are programmed to hit the Command deck or the missile mags rather than simply aim center mass... Thus knocking a ship out of action sooner than a simple hit point reduction. Thoughts?

    • @MaxIsStrange1
      @MaxIsStrange1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      The sensors the US uses are incredible-for example, the Patriot missiles always aim for the warhead section of incoming enemy missiles or the canopy section of fighters (oof) and the system can even distinguish between decoy warheads and the real deal so I think it’s entirely possible that the SM-6 can distinguish and target particular features of a giant ship (comparatively speaking).

    • @collinwood6573
      @collinwood6573 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Yeah, that was my biggest problem with this simulation. The 055 was completely crippled and one of the 052Ds got smacked in the face with at least 3 SM-6s but both continued to operate as if they were completely undamaged. An SM-6 probably won’t sink a ship unless it hits a magazine, but it could absolutely mission kill one in a single hit.

    • @kingdedede1066
      @kingdedede1066 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely not. The sm-6 uses an active radar seeker which you are right would help you hit small targets but it would not be able to differentiate from areas of a ship.

      @MrCastodian 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@collinwood6573 No, the biggest problem is that US used non existing equipment.
      USA only have F-15EX and they have no Aim-110D3, an US destroyers only have 16 SM-6, 8 SM-3 and 30 SM-2 ER onboard, plus 16 ESSM.
      US navy don’t use SM-6 in anti ship mode, obviously they can, they can use SM-2 and ESSM to, all SAM can be used like this, in all nations, but they don’t because they have a small 64 kg proximity fragmentation warhead, it explode before impact, can’t sink a major surface ship.

    38:52 I would say a slight win for the US on the flottila-front, since they just can get back to the next port to rearm, whereas one enemy ship is in need of heavy reapairs (out for at least a couple of weeks, maybe months) and one is damaged (so probably at a week of repair added). So in the next encounter the US would have all it's ships vs 1 or even 2 ships less from the Chinese and that advantage would only rise with time

    • @collinwood6573
      @collinwood6573 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Keep in mind they cut out the aftermath. There are still the other US bases in the area within range plus the Philippines aircraft can land and rearm with anti ship missiles. The Chinese task force had nothing left to defend themselves so they would have all been sunk within the next two to three hours.
      The US forces are likewise out of missiles but are much closer to friendly territory with enemy reinforcements being much less certain and they therefore have a much higher chance of escape.

    I think the fleet that opens up first with anti ship missiles has an advantage because they begin firing just within their radar defection capabilities but the reacting fleet does not have/ have worse radar targeting information else they would have fired first. As such, the defending fleet would have to guide its anti ship missiles using real time satellites, indirect reconnaissance and weak radar signals, yielding lower missile reliability and an inherent disadvantage compared to the attacking fleet.

    Could the US not launch some Tomahawk missiles with cluster heads on them to aid the defence?

    The disputed area is only the Spratly Islands. Neither country would strike mainland China nor mainland Philippines unless they want to escalate this into clearly illegal territory. The most either country can justify is striking any operational launch sites on either mainland.

    Why would the US launch SM6 against real warships? Isn't that like throwing a 20 million dollar hand grenade on them?

      In real life an SM-6 hit would render the target useless but damage isnt' modelled that well in game.

      @@grimreapersIn real life a destroyer don’t have missiles to spend like this.
      And you do not cripple an destroyer with an SM-6 with proximity fragmentation warhead, if that was the case, USA and the entire world would start using this type of missiles as anti ship missiles, and they don’t.

      @@grimreapersYup, but as soon as they are detected heading where they arent supposed to be we would have navel assets tasked to intercept and "observe" for any offensive posturing. So more aircraft would be in the AO.
