- One of the purchases you just keep putting off and wondering if they are cool or not or stupid or something. Well, I finally took the plunge. here it is. my first impressions of using colored graphite and righting the wrong of that so called 'pastel' mechanical pencil.

To be perfectly honest when I was younger I always had a notebook when watching waffles

YO SAME I DON'T EVEN LIKE PURPLE THAT MUCH BUT IT FELT SO WEIRD THAT SHE SAID SHE WON'T USE THE PURPLE AS MUCH. Character break!
Watching this gave me a funny image of someone sticking their mechanical pencil in an electric pencil sharpener. That would be an odd day... The only color lead I’ve ever had is blue, and there’s been many days I’ve found myself thinking, “why can’t I see my sketch?!?”. Let’s just say putting blue lead in a green mechanical pencil that matches all my other green mechanical pencils was not my smartest move.
I have actually done that in elementary school. My first time using a mechanical pencil. It was not good for the pencil or the sharpener....teacher wasn't happy
after I saw the words "waffles" "mechanical pencils" and colored "pencils" I clicked so fast 🤍 I love colored mechanical pencils and of course waffles 💖✨😊

I love using the Pilot Color Eno mechanical pencils, so this was interesting to watch someone else explore colored mechanical pencils for the first time! I love my set, really the only bad color is yellow because it's too bright to really sketch with. Sketching in color for some reason makes the process so much more fun, and I've started actually filling sketchbooks because of it. Definitely would recommend mechanical colored pencils if anyone feels bored drawing with just normal graphite!
Any luck with the yellow ontop or is it not opaque enough? I was wondering if yellow would work on colored or toned paper then I saw this comment!
I was planning on getting some Pilot Color Eno! Do you still enjoy them, and was it really worth it in the long run? (Also, I like mlp too)
@@hunterartlab323 I know this is old hECK- I'm not sure if the yellow would work on toned or colored paper. I don't see any reason it wouldn't, it is just as pigmented as the rest of them.
@@lolziesart4599 Eyyyyy fellow pony fan! Yeah, I still use them and love them. I've had them for a couple of years at this point, and I rarely use graphite pencils in my sketchbooks now. I've stocked up on refills for the color leads and also the erasers. JetPens has the leads if you want to find them. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to spice up their drawing process.

I love how she just lets her hands just draw whatever come to mind, I have a hard time doing that because I always want my drawings to be perfect, but she taught me that you don’t really have to worry about that too much.

The dark blue is so beautiful when used with the orange cuz the orange is kind of pink-ish, the leads themselves are just the absolute best

Ooh, this is the exact colored lead brand that I use! They're really good quality and erase surprisingly well!

The Pilot brand makes a set of color lead and pencil bodies that go with them. It’s the Pilot Color Eno. Also they are erasable as well. And the Mr. Boxxy eraser works well with both the UNI and the Pilot color pencil lead.
Which are less breakable? I have a very heavy hand unfortunately.
@@hunterartlab323 I have only used the Pilot Color Eno. I haven't had any issue with breaking. They also come with a mechanical pencil for each color and there are 8 colors. Red, Pink, light Blue, Dark Blue, Violet, Yellow, Orange, Green

My absolute favorite mechanical pencil has always been Papermate's Clearpoint 0.7mm. I've tried to use Col-Erase pencils for my construction lines but they erase so poorly that they leave the paper dyed. A few months back I saw a 6 pack of colored lead clearpoints with matching colored mechanical pencils and I was so jazzed! I've always drawn parts of my art with different colors (skeleton is red, body is green, background is blue, etc.) to make coloring and line art easier. I'm a huge perfectionist so I like to see the construction lines of my characters, that way I can correct my anatomy. So glad you invested in colored lead, I love seeing fellow artists playing with new supplies!

Oh man it’s been a while since I last used colored lead, they just kind of stopped selling them where I live for some odd reason :( . I used them a lot for sketching in layers and nice details. I haven’t really bought some in a long time and have just given up and used a light blue colored pencil for sketching
I like this video. I love when Rin just starts doodling and having fun with her art. It really gets me inspired to draw when I see her having fun making art. In a weird way I prefer her doodly sketching videos because she feels like she's having more fun. Mind you its nice to see her push herself to make completed peices too. OMG!!! I have wanted colored leads since i was 13! I'm so happy I've finally see you using them, I definitely would use the purple and the blue one, I love the sketchiness it gives, yet the clean results you can get
Using coloured leads in my mechanical pencils definitely made me enjoy traditional drawing more! So glad you're giving it a try :)

I honestly don’t understand why anyone uses regular pencils, mechanical pencils are 1000% superior in my opinion like seriously😂😂

Omg I've always been in love with Mono Graph Pencils and since colored pencils like Col-erase isn't that common in Vietnam, we used the Uni colored leads so much! Certainly helped my art omg, glad you got themmm!!
