It got a decent distance out there, basically what it’s stated to do, you have the same strong winds I get here in Perth every time I fly! Good range test Dan 👍
Definitely do one without the wind I’m assuming it will get further . I have same issues in Florida I’m on the water and it always has a coastal breeze of at least 15-20 mph
Yeah the wind was definitely not ideal, hard to get away from it here on the West coast this time of year. I may repeat this range test and see if it will go out further
I like it was a little bit windy on this one and yap I checked it out thanks for the link too it’ll probably be mid summer before I pull the trigger on a drone I have a couple of drones looking forward too the calm winds on the next one 👍
I’m flying this same drone and it is working well for me. You have to do all of the calibrations before flying it and if between battery changes. If you have a crash or a hard landing you have to recalibrate everything, otherwise you would run the risk of it flying away. I would agree the DJI brand is a way better drone if you can afford it but if you’re just starting out the HS175D is a good option. I can’t wait to see if the prices of the DJI drones will drop this December. I would like to get one but I need to stick with what I have for now to get some flight experience.
Yeah the distance is close, also would’ve been nice if the camera was able to be adjusted up further so I could see what’s ahead of me while I was flying.
I got mine today I love that optical flow sensor, it definitely helps over the hs-440 model that doesn’t have one. The perfect beginner drone. Price point wise too.🎃
Hello. Beginner drone pilot here (just got a Holy Stone HS175D). When you fly the drone, do you literally watch the drone (line of sight), or do you fly it through the app on your phone, as if you're actually on the drone? I was wondering how people keep track of it when it's far away, or not visible / around corners, etc. Thanks.
I typically will watch it line of site for the first 100 feet then it’s all through the app. Being a beginner I suggest keeping it close and practice using the app as it takes a bit to get use to
I'm having an issue with the live feed. I'm only getting out about 50 to 80 feet and it starts to lock up. I've checked all the setting and turned on airplane mode so shouldn't be getting any interference? I don't get it.
Have you tried it at another location? Often a populated area will have a large amount of wifi interference. If a location change doesn’t correct the issue I’d suggest reaching out to customer service
I don’t have much experience with drones, anyone know what I should expect? I’ve never flown one outside and barely even use drones, the only question I have is this: is it hard for beginners and will I crash in in the first 2 minutes?
I’ve had my HS175D for a week and each time I go for distance and or height I loose control and the drone manages to find the tallest tree to get stuck in I’ve been lucky to get it back but I know my luck is running out as long as I keep the distance short and the height reasonable things are fine but I bought the drone so that I can see things higher and further away, but nope!
I had one time it nearly flew away on my actually it was in my flight review video. Other than that I found it to be a solid drone and had no issues with range
My mind is blown by this new technology. Thanks for sharing, even if it makes me feel hopelessly old school. LOL.
Yeah its crazy how advanced some of these little machines are and the amount of technology packed in them

Thanks Dave, the winds this time of year are constant. I’m happy with the distance it achieved being basically what was advertised 👍💯💥
Nice flight Van City i need to get a little bird like this 👏🏾👍🏾
Thanks appreciate it. These are definitely fun and very capable 👍💯

Great video! Very informative
Thanks appreciate it 👍💯

Thanks for stopping by. I was hoping the wind was going to die down a bit unfortunately that was not the case 🤣

100% agree with your advice and that the HS175D is good option if you’re starting out. 👍
Man that camera would get on my nerves a little . Very cool distance on that little guy cool video ✌️😎

Awesome, enjoy 👍💯
Nice little unit
Yeah it’s not a bad beginner GPS Drone
I still like mine
@@darrylgalbiati5646 yeah me too 👍💯
Cool
Thanks 👍💯
I just got mine a couple weeks ago!
Awesome, how you liking it so far?
I ordered one. But now I'm kinda wishing i would have got the one with the gimbal. But this is ok for first time.
It’s great for a first drone. I’m sure once you get the hang of it you’ll be looking for something with stabilized video
It seems to run well
Yeah it’s not bad especially when you have little to no wifi interference.

Doesn't FAA regulations state that you have to keep the drone within your line of site

Take it slow and get familiar with the drone and it’s controls
I have the same drone and I can only do 350m what app do you use and do you know why mine is different ?
It would be the same app you’re using. When there’s wifi interference the range is greatly reduced. Not much interference where I flew in this video
Does the drones camera have audio or is it just video?
It’s just video
Excelente

How fast does it go
Not sure the exact speed but I’d say it’s comparable to a Mavic Mini for speed
been thinking about buying this for my daughter...
It’s not a bad starter gps drone. Easy to fly

👍💯
meanwhile DJI drones can go 6-12 miles depending on the model
Yep they can 👍💯
Mine went out 154metres lost connection and never returned home 😢not a holy stone fan. I would save money and get the DJI.
Yikes I’m sorry to hear that. I do agree DJI drones are definitely better quality 👍
