Valhalla is the longest dark ride in the world! And costs a cool 114k a month to keep running... Think it cost 13 million to build and had an upgrade in 2011... It reaches a cool 43 mph with out being strapped in... Cool huh. 😉
I bloody love this ride. if anyone is heading to Blackpool, make sure you go to get on this ride. The atmosphere, the sounds, lighting ect... are on point. The ride is inside and apart from that one instance, it's impossible to know how high you are. This is good for those with a massive fear of heights (me included haha) Again. It is amazing.

Leah ! A nightmare for me to get in and out, in fact they stop it or slow it down for me as due to my visual impairment and the station being dark I have to feel for the boat. Once I’ve found the boat it doesn’t take me long to get in. This time on saturday though I’m wearing sandles.
Leah ! You haven’t offended me. Valhalla is a visually impaired persons nightmare but if I get a good operator they either slow the boat down or stop it so I can get on and off the ride. I love the ride though just the getting on and off bit. I feel for the boat, this time I felt the head on the front then the guy said that is the head love then I found the bar/grab rail so put one hand on that one on the seat then got in. Still fell onto the seat but at least it was the seat this time lol, once I fell getting on and landed on the floor of the boat so said eh no fair valhalla I slipped.
me and my friend went on it 15 times it was so fun we always had to sit at the back on a cart with some random people and we met an old man and we talked through the ride it was so fun defo the best ride ever but when it goes to the backwards drop its so scary because I had never went on the Valhalla before and when it dropped backwards I died and I wasn't aloud my glasses on the ride so I was blind and not being able to see anything it was blurry but that's good coz then they are unexpected 😀
I've visited Bpb 3 times and never gone on valhalla. Twice it's been closed and the 1st time my ex didn't want to go on it. I'm visiting again in June so I'm determined that I'm going on it this time!! My only goals are icon, Valhalla and finally making myself go on steeplechase.
You won’t be disappointed with steeplechase just make sure when you see that you’re about to turn a corner move your body with the horse, that way you don’t feel the jerking sensation as much🙂
one time my family and i were in a boat when they had to stop the ride for a bit. (un)fortunately for us we got stopped in the middle of the fire room, so we got pretty toasty. still dryer than everyone else coming off the ride, though
I went on this last week and it was AMAZING despite getting absolutely soaked right through. In the future I would recommend bringing tons of waterproof stuff.
I went on this ride this time last year and I'm going back this week it's an awesome ride I like it when you go backwards and the special effects are mind blowing! the fire made me jump though haha😂only downside is that the line is MASSIVE so we had to get fast passes

Okay so i went on this ride after I went on icon which was my first time on a rollercoaster (I passed out🤣) I had to wait in line for Valhalla for 20mins when you get on the boat it does not stop so you have to be quick and it doesn't strap you in you have to sit a certain way so you don't fall out. It has big drops backwards and forwards. But all in all it was great
for the people who are scared about going on it DONT BE. I went on it for the first time today and i was freaking out and at the end when i came off it, it was officially my favorite ride in blackpool! the only thing to be scared of is it breaking down like most roller coasters in Blackpool do. After i went on it i liked it so much and i went on it again but right before the third drop it stopped and i was stuck in there for 20 minuets but it wasnt bad because they come and help u out and even give you a free vallhala pass for when u next go on it. But my friend dropped it off the top of the airoplanes
I went on this years ago and managed to headbutt the cushion on the back of the chair in front on like the first drop... I think I moved my head forward just as it got to the bottom which pushed me really far forward, spent the rest of the ride feeling a bit dazed with a very sore nose!
my friend lost his phone in there. it was an samsung galaxy s6 he got it when it was new. so it was about £600 to be fair he had an open pocket. it was water proof for 30mins. now he has a bad microsoft which he has already cracked when charging

I went on Valhalla for the first time this week. The last time I rode it was only yesterday and I'm already missing it! I love the fire effect at the bottom of the last drop, where you think you are about to drop into a pool of fire but it goes out last second. Shame that wasn't working in this POV.
I'm from Belfast and I remember going to black pool every year going to the pleasure beach with my sister. last time I went to black pool I was 19 and I just went to bars and drank beer. but I might be going next year and I'd like to go to pleasure beach again and if Valhalla's still open I'm be well going on this ride. brilliant! this ride is one of my all time favourites!!! i cant wait to go on this again and take friends on it. it was a total surprise when i went on. i figured itd be just like a regular boat tour with a drop. no chance!!! went on twice in one day. the end of the day was so cold afterwards. this was day after the illuminations 2015 in sept. ice room was on both times for me. on the last go the flames on the last drop were infront of the boat and didnt quite extinguish and i felt the flame right by my face. it was awesome!!! best bit is getting off the ride and seeing the faces of those queuing up yet to experience it! muhahah! love it
I went on it twice in one day last month, I absolutely loved it but ur right for saying u were a bit nippy at the end of the day. I was so nippy I ended up putting about 4 layers on when I got back home! Amazing ride tho I recommend it to everyone, everyone should try it out

I broke down on this ride they had to reverse us and then it wouldn’t go up the hill so they had to push it back further and it took 15 mins luckily we got an extra go because of it
Went yesterday and they stopped the boat for me to get on with my friend. Then when we got back to the station they stopped it again so I could get off.

The new ice room and current lightning scene (with the just the kwarking noises) are utterly dreadful but glad they made the explosions more intense near the end!
TheSchemer1 What's wrong with the new ice room? It's much better than the previous room. The lightning room is much better than it was in terms of scenery (it used to just be a strobe in a cage, years before that though it was tesla coil) but I think it would be much better with the thunder audio back instead of the crow sounds.
Yeah that's more what I meant - keep the new lighting room as is visually but bring back the thunder audio (classic sound). As for the Ice room it just feels a bit more sparse compared to the old one where you actually felt like you were in Lapland, Finland.
PonyKaty All of it xD You go down a small hill near the beginning, getting you prepared for getting cold and soaked. This bit gets you fairly wet. Then you go down a backwards hill getting you soaked. Near the end there is a massive drop that is near vertical and will soak you head to toe xD Ponchos dont work too well. Then in-between there are other mini downhills that will get you more wet and also fountains that go over your head that surprisingly gets you wet. Sit on the left if you want to get wet, sit on the right if you want to get, well, wet. On the right, it isnt as bad.

I think they started introducing the wristbands after they opened Valhalla because Valhalla costs a lot to run

What's scary about this ride is that it goes down big drops quite fast and you only have a handle bar and no straps in you

The new ice room and current lightning scene (with the just the kwarking noises) are utterly dreadful but glad they made the explosions more intense near the end!

TheSchemer1 What's wrong with the new ice room? It's much better than the previous room. The lightning room is much better than it was in terms of scenery (it used to just be a strobe in a cage, years before that though it was tesla coil) but I think it would be much better with the thunder audio back instead of the crow sounds.
Yeah that's more what I meant - keep the new lighting room as is visually but bring back the thunder audio (classic sound). As for the Ice room it just feels a bit more sparse compared to the old one where you actually felt like you were in Lapland, Finland.

PonyKaty All of it xD You go down a small hill near the beginning, getting you prepared for getting cold and soaked. This bit gets you fairly wet. Then you go down a backwards hill getting you soaked. Near the end there is a massive drop that is near vertical and will soak you head to toe xD Ponchos dont work too well. Then in-between there are other mini downhills that will get you more wet and also fountains that go over your head that surprisingly gets you wet. Sit on the left if you want to get wet, sit on the right if you want to get, well, wet. On the right, it isnt as bad.

Brilliant ride but every year they get slower at sending the boats round, they constantly stop the boats in the station now for minutes at a time.
