  • In this video, we sit down with storied owner and C.E.O. of Marble King Industries Inc. “The Marble Queen” Beri Fox!
    This interview was filmed at the 2023 National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, NJ. This is the 100th year of the organized event for children from 7 to 14 years old.
    Beri explains Marble King’s involvement as a prominent sponsor of the tournament, and shows us historical artifacts from the Wildwood National Marbles Tournament Museum.
    We discuss some of Beri’s favorite modern marble models produced during her tenure as owner, continuing since 1983.
    After racking up some marbles and shooting them down, we look at several vintage Marble King marbles from the Jason Greer and Stephen Bahr collections. Most of these were produced by Beri’s father Roger Howdyshell, who had overseen Marble King’s day to day operations starting in 1949, and later became full owner of the company.
    Special thanks to the National Marbles Tournament! Which is a non-for-profit organization, and the oldest tournament for children in the United States .
    Congratulations to this year’s Girl’s champion is Jessica Thompson from Middletown, Maryland.
    Congratulations to this year’s boy’s champion Isiah Garcia from Philadelphia, PA.
    Shout out to cameraman and marbles historian David Tamulevich, and collector Jason Greer for their involvement and support in this project.
    Thank you Beri Fox ! 🔴👑

    I had just started collecting, about 5-6 months ago. Love watching these videos, because they help me to identify what marbles I do have. I have bought around 5,000 so far and still going. Was wondering where to get help identifying the ones I am having trouble with.

      Right David , 75 years of making marbles and you’re going to cover all the bases. They even made swirls , but they were accidental/errors.

    • @stephenbahrmarbles
      @stephenbahrmarbles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes definitely! I have one or two I need to photograph. They have been producing for industrial applications, she said they take time to experiment with play marbles but I’m not sure how many they make.

      @@stephenbahrmarbles it would be quite awesome if they put surprises inside spray paint cans! I guess that might contribute to accidents however, since everyone would be busting open Krylon cans everywhere!
