Nah, I disagree with the comparison to Meryl Streep. If any actor will achieve anything close to that status, it will be the Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson. Just give it time and everybody will see how diverse his acting range really is. If you need proof, just take a look at how much he's grown as an actor since Scorpion King -> Tooth Fairy -> Skyscraper -> Moana. Can't wait to see more from this man in the next few decades.

Great version. I love how they slowed it down to make it spookier, but it also meant they could compress the range and make it work with Anyas vocals. I also love they resisted the urge to autotune the voice to shiney perfection and kept in some of the small breaks in her voice it suits a song from that era to sound like it's sung by a real person and not a machine.

Edgar Wright more than delivered with Last Night in Soho: the MUSIC, the cinematography, the wardrobe, the set design, and everything in between was nothing short of masterful. I rented the UHD Blu-Ray disc and spent as much time watching the bonus material as watching the film. Director Edgar Wright says in an interview he wondered if Anya Taylor-Joy could sing and asked her. I didn't know that either and was flabbergasted as much as Thomasin's character.
She has amazing vocal control. Smooth, sultry and sexy all rolled together into a classic 1940's of times past. Her subtle movements blend well with the song and keep your eyes locked onto her while she sings. Excellent job.

Great version. I love how they slowed it down to make it spookier, but it also meant they could compress the range and make it work with Anyas vocals. I also love they resisted the urge to autotune the voice to shiney perfection and kept in some of the small breaks in her voice it suits a song from that era to sound like it's sung by a real person and not a machine.
I prefer the downbeat version, it doesn't sound spooky to me at all, it's so captivating almost like a surreal lullaby.
I must admit i have seen the trailer for this movie now twice, and her singing actually intrigued me, and i’m not a fan of horror movies.

This song is hauntingly beautiful, and once you know the story of the movie, it just supports the incredibly tragic dream shattering life Anya portrays for her character.

I've seen this movie 3 times in the theater so far. I don't know exactly why, but this movie has touched me very much! I really relate to Ellie. And I love this song so much. Anya has such an amazing voice!
This song is already wonderful on its own, but it's even more so after you watch the movie. Edgar Wright more than delivered with Last Night in Soho: the MUSIC, the cinematography, the wardrobe, the set design, and everything in between was nothing short of masterful.
And that's to say nothing of the incredible cast and crew that brought this terrifying masterpiece to life: Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, just all of them!
Truly a phenomenal movie and just another reason why Edgar Wright is my absolute favorite director 🖤🖤🖤

I rented the UHD Blu-Ray disc and spent as much time watching the bonus material as watching the film. Director Edgar Wright says in an interview he wondered if Anya Taylor-Joy could sing and asked her. I didn't know that either and was flabbergasted as much as Thomasin's character.

She has amazing vocal control. Smooth, sultry and sexy all rolled together into a classic 1940's of times past. Her subtle movements blend well with the song and keep your eyes locked onto her while she sings. Excellent job.
