Shades of Rocky V. Lingering effects of survival. The only way this brilliant story is tarnished is by having Supergirl endure near death experiences multiple times per season.
God it hurts to see her like this but FINALLY. the show almost never acknowledges the things Kara has been through, this is like a painful breath of fresh air.
I think this is one of the few times where the show has actually showed Kara's trauma/ emotional state. Usually by the next episode she seems fine and dandy and that trauma isn't really brought up again
The thing is like Melissas acting is INCREDIBLE just as a person she’s been through so much in her life and now she’s happily married and has a baby boy. Kara is my comfort character I can’t really explain how but I just love her so much. In way idk if anyone else will agree but her playing supergirl has taught be to always be true to my self and know my worth and be kind to others and to love my self more. I’m not sure if that makes any sense but that’s how I look at it. I love the show so much and can’t wait to watch season 6 :) Have a good day everyone:)
Kara's my comfort character, too. This whole show feels like a hug during heartbreak. It hurts, and sometimes we laugh through the pain, and sometimes we just let it swell over us and pour from our eyes.
Great video! Melissa and Chyler are so great in emotional scenes! I believe that’s partly because these two have such a great friendship and bond in real life. I’m truly going to miss the Danvers sisters. They have the best sister relationship!
honestly of all the heroes in the arrowverse she might have the most trauma forced to see her planet die trapped in the phantom zone all while she was just a child maybe therapy would do her some good so she can put this all behind her and move on
That was the main issue of this show. The writers never focused on Kara- they were lucky that despite sidelining Kara a lot, Melissa’s performance constantly shone through that it was enough to keep the show ongoing. Had Melissa decided to continue they would’ve kept going but it still wouldn’t be about Kara, and that’s the sad part.
Exactly!!!!! Like there was about from Winn, Brainy, Dreamer, and Kara wasnt the Center a Lot. And I find more interesting Kara's or Alex's back story than the Martian ManHunter 😂, it seems to lack maturity BUT when powerful scenes like This AMAZING sister Bond with Chyler Leigh and Melissa Bennoist, or when we can see Kara/Supergirl real struggle, the show grows a lot on maturity, storyline, character development.
Isn't it funny how she was going yo raise superman as baby and her being 14 but now that the roles changed and she 14 and he is like around 25 he just leaves her day one with people she don't know after she lost everything she ever known🤨i mean........... why dose she still love him🤔, him being the her only family just to leave like that i would have probably have a panic attack especially because she just lost everything even her purpose on top of him just leaving
Oh dang... Good point. That's another reason for her to get therapy. I mean, she even asks James in the first episode of Season 1, "What is he like, in person?" Which means she doesn't see him much...
@@diamondly6250 Yeah, they brought in her anger in Season 1, but it was nothing compared to the comics, from what I hear. I never read the comics, so my first introduction to Supergirl was through the CW show, so I still love Kara (and Melissa Benoist; she shows a huge range of emotions really well), but I would love to see the comic version of Supergirl in a modern show.
It's a bit funny when Kara suffers from things like panic attacks and PTSD, and believes she shouldn't because she's not human. Physically speaking, yes she's not like most people on earth....but everything else about her is human..
Hey you! Though everyone will leave you and break your heart…The only Person that will not is Jesus Christ. He loves you so much and is always there for you. Just seek Him! Have a blessed day💖
Melissa was great but the fact they did this to the character is where the tv show lost any thread of the strong Kryptonian that is Kara Zor-El Supergirl should never have been made to look this pathetic. I stopped watching at this episode
Melissa’s acting has kept the show running for six seasons. Missy deserves an Emmy.
She's one talented actress alright.
FOR FREAKING REAL
Shows there are some things even a Kryptonian isn't immune to. One is PTSD.

“Alex..can I have another hug, please?” They are the best sibling duo! I’m gonna miss them very much😭
Same!
Girl needs all the oxytocin she can get.
God it hurts to see her like this but FINALLY. the show almost never acknowledges the things Kara has been through, this is like a painful breath of fresh air.
I've been thinking a lot about this, and you know, the saddest thing is, she was more afraid to being trapped in the phantom zone again than die.
She knocked it out of the park in this episode. She is such a talented actress, and she is multitalented.
This episode put Kara in the perfect place for her to finally go to therapy. It would make sense, wouldn't feel rushed...
100% agree
Why does Kara always have to feel the most pain 😑
@@alexplays_roblox1k373 because it’s entertaining lmao

"The only way out is through". Wise words I heard at my last therapy session 😭
"Can i have another hug please" the way she said that is so cute 0:35
"can I have another hug please"
aww my heart broke and soared at the same time. so sad but also so cute.
I heard that during this season the actors didn't hang out behind the scenes like normal so I don't think asking for another hug was improv.

Her as well as Sara lance i feel are up there trauma wise
Who could ever hope to possibly comprehend what this woman has been through in order to administer therapy to her?
PTSD + supergirl = someone give this girl therapy or vacation
2:05 - 2:30 John being a protective dad my heart ❤️😭
I felt so bad in the first scene 😭
that last scene broke me 😭😭😭 CAN WE PLEASE STOP HURTING KARA ITS HURTING ME 😭😭😭😭
I don't think I can handle a Scooby-Doo episode right now. 😂
Im gonna miss supergirl 😥

Similar to the original Star Trek, Soop will gain a cult following in re-runs and I predict a re-boot.
Me too!
@@barrystewart5946 theres already a dceu Supergirl movie in development.
Supergirl became my favorite dc superhero because of this show!!! So great!!
These are the moments which made supergirl so wonderful..these danvers sisters moments..
I wish the storylines would focus on Kara more... She is the main character after all, but it usually doesn't feel like it.
