So true! I have been mesmerized with her recently and I’m like what is it? It’s definitely the confidence, it almost makes her look more youthful after losing a 200 lbs dead weight she’s been carrying for 12 years. Also I’m digging her 90’s chic she’s been rocking lately.

Divorce is sad no matter who’s involved. But I agree if it’s not for the show, maybe she was bullied when she was younger, considering it was her idea for them to get involved to begin with through Scheana. If anyone’s vindicated it’s JAX for taking all the villain heat when he was on the show and Sandoval taking none.

A thought for your thesis… One of the reasons this is blown up to be so big is there is a group of us out there who have been married or dating someone like this and that person did the same thing that Tom and Raquel did Ariana.
So for people like me and others it’s validating or should I say, eye-opening to watch this from a third-party’s perspective, how spouses and friends can lie to your face, but saying something completely different behind your back.
There’s a shame when you are cheated on because society labels you as it’s your fault because if someone’s happy in a relationship, they don’t cheat. Clearly, there are others who cheat because they are broken people who need to be validated by others.
And I feel like now people can see there are some that behave this way, and we literally see the deception play out on the show and Sandoval’s perception of how things went down during his interview with Howie Mandel.
Those are just my two cents.

I was cheated on and watching this unfold triggered some feelings one which I have recently identified is shame. I felt shame because I felt like the village idiot. His whole family knew about the other woman and would smile lovingly to my face.

I love that you are bringing Tom's horrible ways to light. Schwartz never supported Katie she must have felt small in that relationship. 10 seasons of Schwartz abuse, and no one said anything. I saw it, I commend Katie for finally finding the balls to get out.

If we had no idea about SCANDAVOL, we would be saying Raquel got bullied this season. Katie was sooooo mean girl to her. Her friendship with Lala is LAUGHABLE. have you watched this series? I'm finally, after 10 seasons, starting to warm up to Katie and really understand her more. The show really put her in a negative light, I feel. I hate that they rarely ever showed us (as in me lol), what an actual great person she was! In all honesty, I fkn hated her probs bc I'm a Scheana fan. Never thought I'd see the day, but here we are! Starting to love on you Katie!
Love this!! Katie has matured and changed. Let's not forget she and Stassi were encouraged to be "mean" to the others and Scheana played the under dog really well. Scheana hasn't grown much but FINALLY showed up against Tom. I'm hoping Scheana continues to grow up and understand not everyone is her "BFF" and that's OK.
She's also evolved a lot over the years (while others haven't)
I think the draw to this is that the best thing about Sandoval was Ariana and the only thing about Ariana that everyone didn't love was Sandoval. Unlike her and Raquel the audience wasn't ever enamored by him. Katie is a great representation of someone who has good morals and does love herself. I'm very proud of how far she has come. Both these women have unburdened themselves of dead weight and everyone is wanting them to soar at the new Shop. As much as Katie put thought into naming the place and it will be successful is the alter of Schwartz and Sandys. Hey we all hated the name and now we can't stand them. They are doomed and they did it to themselves. All laughing and kidding aside. Who's laughing now boys?😅
I think the draw is how seedy and gross it is to be sneaking around like they were and smiling in everyone's faces. It's so obvious part of this was that Tom got off on all that and having the two women together cheering for him. It's so disgusting.

Katie is finally being recognized for being SO awesome. I love it and I'm happy to see HER happy. There is someone out there that will treat her like she deserves but she's also thriving on her own.
This thing has blown up for 2 big reasons: It's not just cheating, it's how bad the narcissism and diabolically sociopathic it all is and how badly Sandoval gaslights everyone and deflects, and how he's actually been doing this for the WHOLE SHOW and we're all now just seeing it. This is triggering for so many people who have people like Sandoval in our lives, people suffering with people like him in our lives.
Jax likes to say he was labeled the villan on the show, but low key editing made Katie the villan and it was utter crap. We all see how he is and was to you, and it's good to see you happy.

Katie handled it the way Sandoval should have once she realized her relationship wasn't making her happy anymore.
Everyone who doesn't understand the agreement Katie had with Schwartz is acting like they are not in a very precarious situation where they both have to still work with eachother after the divorce. On a show. Most people get to go their separate ways after a breakup they didn't have that luxury. The show is their bread and butter. It makes total sense setting some ground rules.
Whether they're married or not it's really sad Schwartz can defend and support Sandoval and his toxic decisions but never did that for Katie. Crazy.
I think Raquel left James for Tom but Tom wasn't ready to leave Ariana yet and that's why she kept breaking down. She cried during the date with Peter. She had a panic attack in the car with the girls...I definitely think Raquel was using Schwartz at first to make Sandoval jealous and that's what ultimately worked. At that point I guess it was worth the risk for him but i dont think he actually wanted something long term with her either tbh. Just thinking with his dick. Of course now he says otherwise and has to pretend for Raquel that hes "in love". Who else does he have? Them not being able to kiss on camera was really awkward and telling. They liked the raunchy secretive trysts better than theyll like being bf and gf or playing house. Especially now. Fun's over

I've never been a Tom and Tom fan. I couldn't stand to see Sandoval go after Katie and Schwartz never stand up for her. He always took Sandoval's side no matter how wrong he was. Katie is fabulous. Always loved her. Can't wait to see who she is without Tom dragging her down.

My favourite part of this heartbreaking situation is seeing all the single VPR women thriving in interviews.
You get so much more of a vibe as to how intelligent and classy they are compared to the edits on the show that are more drama focused.

I actually understand why Schwartz didn’t go to Ariana, it’s not his place. It’s really bad situation, and I don’t think the messenger always survives. That said, not only should have kept telling Sandoval to break up with Ariana, he could have told him I’m not going to go on a double date with you and Rachel. We are not gonna spend time with Rachel together. I’m not going to spend time with Rachel until you break up with Ariana. Because he went on trips with Rachel and his girlfriend, Jo knowing that Ariana was still Tom’s girlfriend, and I don’t care about the Excuse, “he told me they weren’t having sex” or “he wasn’t happy”, you knew that you had to keep your mouth shut because she was still his girlfriend. He was complicit, and worse yet an active participant in affair.
Quite frankly, I always want to like Schwartz, but it is this kind of behavior & then him and the other Tom are the biggest Gaslighter’s I’ve ever seen. They can never just say they were wrong, and Schwartz’s WWHL interview instead of taking any accountability for the way he treated his wife he blamed how she was earlier in the relationship, saying that he had to treat her this way now, because she was so much of a “monster” back then. Tom didn't validate her... That was clear. He also didn't have her back 99% of the times they were shown on the show. She will find true love... probably without even looking for it. I'm glad she found her strength to step out on her own. She's a beautiful soul. I do hope she and Scheana are able to become closer friends as Scheana can be a ride or die friend.
I really wish we could have more of a conversation highlighting Schwartz's mistreatment of Katie in the season and at the reunion. I think it is really important to hear it broken down.
I just re watched the episodes and I think Katie, that the affair goes back to when the restaurant was under construction. I truly believe Tom attacked you relentlessly to not come work at the restaurant. I think he didnt want you there to see what he was up too. In episode 9 season 9 Sandy walks into a party and Rachel calls him Daddy. And then laughs it off. Who calls someone else's man Daddy if your not sleeping with him.
I noticed that in season 10 too! She called Brock Daddy at the dinner where she had to say that she couldn’t say no to James proposal because it made her wet, because of a bet she made with Lala.
Was this episode tape before the finale, because Arianna made it clear to Schwartz how she felt about him and he was no longer her friend, also Ariana answered a lot of the questions being asked on the show on watch what happens live with Andy Cohen .
I’m still loving the episode, though, because Katie looks radiant and I am a big Katie Maloney fan . 🌷
Watching VPR for all these years, I think KAtie and Schwartz could have lived happily ever after if it weren't for SLIME-DAVOL always whispering in Schwartz ear about Katie. I love to see Katie's growth. If it weren't for all this Sandoval mess, there'd be more conversation about how katie was treated this season. Lala was such a solid friend to Katie. In Mexico and during the Sandwich celebration/Lisa's birthday party thing when Katie was at her lowest point having to deal with Raquel coming up to talk to her in front of her Mom. Lala went after Katie and made sure she does not talk to Schwartz/Raquel more. Love Lala and Katie's friendship.
Katie looks fantastic! She’s beaming with confidence and has come a million miles since season 1. I’m so happy for her and her growth and complete transformation as a person. I really enjoyed her journey from standing up to stassi, then taking complete control of her life and doing what’s best for her. ❤

Katie can be difficult and she is smart and overflowing with sense too, not that common.
Easy for Katie to set that particular boundary. There’s not a guy in the group she’s attracted to, or would ever entertain hooking up with. Can’t say I can blame her for that one.
That being said, I have a business tip for her & A to pass along.
Get a refrigerated vending machine for outside the sandwich shop. Fill it with fresh sandwiches, & juice drinks, etc, prior to closing at night. When the bar crowd lets out, they can pop over for a “midnight snack”, & they don’t have to have an employee present to sell stuff. Making $ while home sleeping!

I think the drastic personality changes seen in both Toms and in Rachel may have been due to excessive drug use, whether it be alcohol, mushrooms, Adderall, or something else. Not that I'm judging, but they all seemed to be out of it on a certain level.

Katie went to Mexico probably because she was getting paid per scene/event. When she didn't invite Schena to the girl's trip who is also probably getting paid per scene/event, is when Shena disinvited her to the trip. Listen to what Katie was said, she said Schena said just come to Mexico you don't have to attend the wedding. Katie didn't invite Schena to Las Vegas which affected her pay rate. When Katie did that, that's when Schena didn't want her to show up to Mexico at all. Katie insisted and went anyway. Schena got Rachel to tell Katies don't show up anywhere around where they were filming... ie so she doesn't get paid.
Lala supported Katie because she didn't want to be around Rachel and Sandoval. Katie needs to own the fact that she can be a bitch and deserves what went down in Mexico. She definitely regretted going to Mexico. If it wasn't for Scandoval taking place everyone would have remembered how ridiculous she looked.

Tom has so much growing up to do and to be his own person. Katie can be super hard on him, but he needs to make a decision and stick to something, not be all over the place to avoid confrontation.
Katie, you have always been my girl you have always been the one that try to think through the situation’s and your words through the conflict with the group and I think it’s so nice to see you open up and be vulnerable. Continue to do that and allow the group of viewers that have grown with you guys that are all aged in together with y’all marriage kids now all of that allow those emotions to make you better and allow them to be a bonding experience for us the viewer because even here in this interview when you’re talking about the closing of the house, I see you pushing it down and not allowing it to release and you deserve the release. Does anyone recall Katie being the original mean girl? She used to be awful to certain people and really miserable. I hope she’s feeling better about herself now.
When I first heard that Tom and Katie were getting a divorce it broke my heart because I loved them together. But having your husband always stand up for his friend and his friend's point of view would make a marriage impossible. Swartz needs to grow up. Im sorry he never supported you Katie.
Same but going back and watching all the seasons, even in the beginning when Katie was kind of unbearable, it all stemmed from Schwartz… the only thing I didn’t agree with for Katie is when they were in Cabo and she got mad at him for giving scheana a shot to make her feel included, which lead to him pouring the drink on Katie, which was terrible! But the reason for the fight was because Katie was mad he bought scheana a shot, that was just petty, it really wasn’t that big of a deal it wasn’t a flirty thing, he just wanted her to feel included .. but that being said what he did pouring that drink on her was terrible, and I think a lot of her anger and insecurity and meanness stemmed from him!!!!!

That giving details about Tom & Ariana is so wrong (and also didn’t even know verbatim that’s what katie said likes to give her own little spin). Of course scheana can do it and it’s okay. Its funny me and Katie are both Capricorns and her take on things are they exactly I've been seeing them this whole time, also I came up with a theory I think Sandoval didn't like Katie that much because he didn't know how much she knew about him through Schwartz being that was her husband, 2 he couldn't tell Schwartz everything he wanted to about his dirt because he was scared for shwratz to tell Katie

Yeah he knew he couldn’t manipulate Katie the way he manipulated Schwartz. Schwartz gives in to Sando instantly, and Katie will stand her ground.
Sando can’t take any scrutiny, so he lashes out and attacks her to deflect.
Yep I also just watch the first season where Katie got drunk and Spilled the rumor about Jax and Kristen, then they said Katie didn't even feel bad she texted Tom in the morning saying "and I know about you and Ariana too" this is back at the first season so he's been had a secret fear and heat for her and everything she knows
Also the toms were making jokes about the affair blatantly in Ariana face

The Rachel and Schwartz thing, I always thought it was to upset Sandoval. And I’m also conflicted about Schwartz. I don’t know what I’d do if I was in his position. Katie is right about why it’s such a big deal, too. It’s all the lies and conniving of these two sickos that’s just so mind blowing. And more keeps coming out. They’re actually mental. And definitely makes sense now why Jax didn’t take any of the “nice” things Sandoval did for him at his wedding didn’t register. I was confused by it at the time but I see now that he just knew nothing Sandoval did was genuine or for others.
