    Hey everyone, if you're looking for the files on FNIRSI website and can't download a thing, FNIRSI passed this google drive link ( drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pZpihFrJUjU4yLVAIxwlofwE2l2trW39 ) where you can download everything you need. Enjoy!

    Fun fact for you. You can actually update FNB58 without a USB micro cable. Just hold the OK button and plug it straight into a PC. Moreover, you can update with a Type-C cable too! I think bootloader mode works on all input ports!

      Thank you for posting your helpful comment. For some reason, I cannot get the USBmeter.exe application to recognize my FNB58 USB tester. I tried connecting to it two different ways, and neither worked. The first attempt was via a micro USB cable plugged into the PC port on the device. The second method was plugging the device in directly to one of my laptop's USB ports.
      Then, after reading your comment, I put my FNB58 into bootloader mode by holding the "ok" button and plugging it in via the micro USB cable, again, plugged into the PC in port on the FNB58. The USBmeter.exe software still didn't detect it.
      However, thanks to you, I was successful on my final attempt. I held down the "OK" button on the FNB58 and plugged it into my laptop directly via its USB-A connector. Almost instantly, the USBmeter.exe application recognized the device. At that point, I was able to follow the instructions in this video and get my firmware updated.
      Thanks again!

      @@kmilgram I had exact the same issue but after connecting directly to USB socket (PC) when holding OK button an app was recognized and went straight to a bootloader mode - after that I could open the Fnb58V0.68 file (doesn't have to be in the same folder as the UsbMeter application) and flash new firmware. Cheers!

    How about another more advanced video giving more in-depth explanations like what each protocol acronyms are, how and why one would use triggers, the PD listener the PD converter or the USB-C E-Marker? Perhaps, you could make a tutorial on how you would use the FNB58 to diagnose a real world problem?

      Hi, I have the review video here th-cam.com/video/pfUdO-m_6s4/w-d-xo.html , doesn't show real world examples yet, but you have a much more detailed explanation on the device. Hi, sorry the late reply, but it's not easy to keep up with the comments, you don't need much, just put the device between the power supply and the charging device (example: a mobile phone) and it will display the voltage, current and watts being consumed. The cables are the normal cables, connect the mobile to the FNB58 and usb cable to the power supply. I have a video where I review and explain how to work with it ( th-cam.com/video/pfUdO-m_6s4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2cVWt3fgfyNCld1e ). Thanks for watching.

    To all who bricked his FNB device. Just try another laptop or PC. the same happens to my one. I tried around 50 times on my laptop on different ports and cables and every time I received random freezes without any chance of success update. As I understand there are no dependents on a Windows version, it looks like the device is very sensitive to the USB voltage of PC, so I just tried another device and flashed it instantly from the first attempt.

    Hi TechCorner, I recently purchased the FNB-58 USB tester. There are a few glitches, but in general I like the product.
    Wanted to see if others are facing the same problems I am:
    1. with the FNB58 connected to the PC, and the recording software ("USB Tester Tool") running, I find that the recording software abruptly stops communicating with the device. This happens after about 20-30 mins of recording. Everything just freezes on the software side. The device itself still works fine. I am running v0.0.6 of the software (I think the 'About' tab erroneously says v0.0.5), and v0.67 firmware on the FNB-58
    2. The bigger issue is that after about 1 week of use, the FNB-58 screen suddenly went blank. I see nothing on the screen, and the navigation buttons don't produce any beep. The device connects fine to a computer, and I can see all measurements, but nothing on the FNB-58 screen. I know the screen is working, because I can boot the device into bootloader mode, and see the update instructions there. I tried re-updating my device - the re-flash completed, but still, nothing on the screen when I try to boot in "App Mode"

      @TechCornerTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, power-z didn't want to send one and to be honest, it's not possible for me to buy every gadget, if the manufacturers don't also help to produce the reviews. Hi have here for review the ACHzY to test, but arrived with a broken screen, they sent one for replacement but didn't have the time to do it yet. I have a pile of devices to review and even just to reply to the viewers, I'm answering comment today for more than 2.5 hours, I like to give some time also to everyone that takes the time to leave a comment, is the least in terms of respect I can do, until the moment it will be really not possible, I will do it.
      So, power-Z no can do, AVHzY can do, just need to fix it :) regarding the FNIRSI devices, I have two or three of those meters, but if I have enough requests I can request to send me the others.

    Hi, I tried to upgrade the firmware (v0.67) following the exact same steps, but I am never able to complete. It fails at various percentages, sometimes in the erasing part and sometimes in the upgrading part, but it never went beyond 35% of the upgrading part. I also noticed something peculiar: as soon as it fails, one character from the display disappears (for example, "1. Erasing sector: 14%" becomes "1. Erasi g sector: 14%" (in this case, the "n" disappears). So now, unless I managed to find a way to overcome this odd upgrade problem, I am stuck with a "bricked" FNB58. Do you know if I can chat with one of their support engineers?

    • @philippebruno8039
      @philippebruno8039 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, just to let others facing the same problem know, the support people at Fnirsi suggested I use the USB A directly into my PC instead of the micro USB connector. It went further, but it did not solved the issue. Their second recommendation was to use another computer,(which should have been obvious, except I did not have access to another Windows 10 (or better) computer until now. I tried that and sure enough, all went well. So if someone is planning to perform a firmware upgrade with a Microsoft Surface Pro 6, beware that the USB ports on both the Surface or the hub do not seem to reliably work with the FNB58 firmware upgrade.

    tks for this--i finally got 0.67 to load but it was very frustrating. the manual mentions nothing about bootloader mode and you had to enter it at exactly the right time or it kicks you back out.
    mine shuts off randomly and at first i thought it was the power bank shutting off. i put a load on it and it still shut down. then i used a power supply and it kept shutting down. the /standby/ time in settings seems to do nothing at all. i did a factory reset and still it shuts down. if i do any of the pd detect tests it shuts down and when i unplug and plug it back in again then it completes the test. it's driving me bugfuck.
    mine came with v0.63 and it did not include pd3.1 protocol. v0.67 does. your video seems to show pd3.1 on v0.63 which i don't understand--was it an edit cut or something? tks, /guy

Just upgraded and it was working as expected with PD 3.1. I notice, that while using some cables connected to the Huawei power supply (in the review video) that it will not work/detect correctly, but if I connect it directly to the power supply using the USB-A, it will work ok. Thanks for watching!

      @@TechCornerTV i'm an idiot. i had no idea that for some test you need a separate source of power. i didn't learn this until i got frustrated and bought a much more expensive tester. it just seemed counterintuitive to me that you'd need two power sources plugged in. /guy

      Nice, you figure it out... but you don't need two power supplies, just one is enough, just check if you're connecting the power suply to the IN port.

    Does it compare to the Shizuku based testers?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this products seem to be a rebrand of the ChargerLab. I did talk with the ChargerLab already and they showed some hopeness to send a unit to review, but they only send to USA address, I'm in Europe so it didn't work out. From the specs is pretty similiar, the Shizuku design is pretty similiar to the FNIRSI FNB48 and in terms of features are almost the same. Since I didn't get one for test, I can't tell really the differences.Thanks for watching!

    is it possible to update mac computers?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I didn't tested, but I do think that is possible to copy the firmware to flash drive that appears on the computer and update without the software, not sure of this. Reach out FNIRSI on theirs whatsapp group to be sure. But, you probably can run the application on the windows emulator on mac, but that will a bit hassle! Thanks for watching!

      I don't have any emulators, I don't want to bother with that...Okay, thanks. In a word, if I have a mac, then it will not work to update
