May I make a remarque? :) 1. In the second part Johnny is taking the A minor instead of your A major. Than he's playing E minor - C major on the words "lift up the reciever i'll make you a believer" but i like more your version here. 2. On the words "reach out and touch faith" Johnny's playing F sharp major with opened first two strings (E and B) and F with the same opened first two strings (E and B). Thank you for the video it helped a lot.
For the "reach out, touch faith" part I have two different chords. I don't have names for them, but it's basically an F# power chord with the top three strings open, an F power chord with the top three strings open, and then back to the main riff. I thought it sounded cooler. Really helpful overall though!
You say there are 3 different parts to the main riff 0:30 but looks to me you show 4 parts. took me about an hour to figure why mine lacked the pazaaaz of your riff (im slow) Looks to me like you: strum EAD, Alternate between a Hammer on E, and than a Pulloff on E pluck D. but this is by far the best lesson on youtube......thanks got it now!!
Well-done video; nice camera work, great explanation and demonstration. This should be a lot of fun to try, as I’m only slightly past playing chords, exclusively. Thanks, from Boston.
always believed that good music need not be difficult. Thanks you for a good lesson is clear.P.S. i am from Ukraine and i use google translator,I hope translation will be accurate
haha, you're obviously playing grate, but it's so cute and funny at the same time how shy you are :)) however, thanks for the lesson, short and easy, very useful!
To that guy wondering that his guitar sounds different: Firstly, I never encountered two guitars sounding at least similar. Unlike flute, theres lot's of resonating stuff in guitar. But in particular, I just guess that nylon/iron strings make a lot of difference.
Well, ok for the method... But these are definitly not the chords !!! On "Lift up the receiver" the A is minor and on "Reach out and touch faith" chords are F#m -> F and not G-> F# ...
The video that got me into guitar playing 10 years ago. Your playing sounded so good. Thanks, man! :D
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
WOOOW....you're an amazing teacher. in 4 and 1/2 mins you managed to teach a really great song with ease. THANK YOU.

@undertheshadowoftree You play the D maj and you also put your thumb on F# and mute the A string, it sounds great. I hope this helped.
Awesome lesson! It would be great if you could provide strumming pattern as well.
I love to learn this version...pretty hard for a newbie. Great piece of music!
