hmmm. i'd fry it instead of bake it, then put the cheese and sauce on and subsequently broil/bake for a short time.

40 minutes in the oven for thin chicken cutlets? Hope you like them dry as sand. After they’re cooked and you add the cheese and sauce, just put the oven on broil for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.

I was thinking that was a long time too for chicken breasts in general, let alone how thinly they were cut.
