I just have to say Bill has to be one of the most legit, hard working real guys I've come across on TH-cam. I emailed him at 9:00 at night and promptly got a very courteous, detailed response that really helped. Wish I could give more thumbs up.
I bought the black letters with the amber LEDs. Can't wait to install them this weekend! I think I'm gonna wire mine to a fuse that comes on when you turn the ignition on, tho... I don't want to have to remember to flip on one of my aux switches.
I think they are a bit too bright. I wonder if reducing the voltage would dim them. Maybe a 10K potentiometer to adjust. Violet to the pin 1, black (ground) to pin 3,and the wiper to the red wire.
LEDs will simply turn off below thier threshold voltages. Dimming would be minimal. If Oracle installed some active circuits in each letter they could be made to dim or even color change. But then the would be $90 per letter instead of $38.
Bill, do you know which fuse if the Third Brake Light. I tried to hook up the Oracle Third brake light and it shorted out something. Can’t find the fuse. Ugh !!!
Double check the on-board owners manual, it's shows different Amprage for the aux switches than your printout. It shows 30A, 15A, 10A, 10A, 10A, 10A. Not sure of it was just wrong documentation or they made the earlier batches different.
Thanks, I will double check, that print out is pretty old and may not be the most accurate. Good to know it is showing less though so we were not accidentally overloading circuits.
Looks awesome. I am curious what is he planning on doing with the old letters. The bronco I order has the black lettering I was going to paint them like your tutorial you did before.
Looks awesome, I am getting my outer banks soon and am planning on doing this with the matte black letters. Seems like a pretty easy install? How long did it actually take to complete?
Thanks again to Ryan for bringing his Badlands Bronco by the garage to install these awesome looking lights if you are on Facebook be sure to check out his Bronco related group at facebook.com/groups/702092033856987/
I love the idea of these, but in every video or picture I have seen of these lights I feel it is incredibly hard to read the letters. I know that it says bronco, but the B and the R are eligible to me.
They look better in person, pictures ( and video ) tend to make the light flare around the letters more than they do in person, but could be a little bit dimmer to make it a little easier to distinguish the letters
@ $38.75 per letter, or $232 per set of 6,. Oracle is another company gouging the new Bronco market because they can. Wait forsome competition and watch all these prices normalize. I have seen nearly identical bumpers for Jeep selling for 1/3 of the Bronco counterpart. The Bronco hype is way up
It is expensive, they had a special pre order launch price which was discounted but still on the expensive side. It's not so much price gouging though , its covering expenses for R&D, being first to market means they have to do everything from scratch and do so not knowing for sure if it will sell or not. So that R&D cost also figures in future R&D as well, not every new product will be a success so they try to mitigate the costs for flops as well. All competitors have to do it see what products are selling well, and reverse engineer them, if they are smart will look to see if there are any complaints about the original product and try to address them. This makes it much cheaper to create, as well as they can better judge the success of a product before ever spending a dime. So they can come to market for cheaper.
@@EvilleTruck Agreed, but after dishing out 60 large for a truck, I'll have to pull those purse strings pretty tight. Assuming the damn thing ever gets built.
@@Deadfeat completely understandable , lol and yeah the price will come down for sure in the future. Hope you get some good news about yours getting built soon.
Could you show the tapping into the headlights method ? For broncos w/o Aux switches.

Thanks Ken, glad I was able to help out.
Great job on this video! The new lettering looks incredible on Ryan's Bronco, and we are so glad you both like the new look too!
Thanks, you guys did an awesome job on these, waiting impatiently for your flush mount tail lights ;)

One of my favorite mods so far. I’m going to paint mine black. They’ll looks so rad with the backlighting
$38.75 a letter wow! after 10% discount thats $200 + ship for light up letters... may wait on this one
Doing this mod soon as well. Thanks for sharing!
I'm curious as to how long the adhesive will last especially being at the front of the brute force of travel.
7 months , and @ 20,000 miles later and still holding strong
Just in time for the amber version I ordered - nice work guys! Now I don't have to figure anything out myself haha!
haha nice, hope its helpful when you go to put yours on.
Definitely doing this whenever I get mine
Do they have black letters with red LEDs?
They have black or white letters , with either white or amber lighting.
That looks awesome!
This is awesome. Looks great. Simple install. Would be cool if you could have the lights move back and forth like knight rider. Ha ha.
That would be awesome, I'm sure someone with enough electrical know how could wire them up to do so.
Thanks for the help!

Might actually be how the camera picks it up. I really like the idea.
They aren’t crazy bright in person. The camera kinda washes the light..

I don't I will take a look and see if I can figure it out and let you know .
Looks great 👍.Will do that on my badlands

@@EvilleTruck no worries, I just hope they just didn't change halfway through the year. Yikes!

Ryan may or may not have a super awesome plan for them that I may or may not have had to edit out of the video until he is ready to reveal that plan 😉
Would have been nice if it came with back lit lettering.
are they paintable?
Yes they could be painted but would have to tape off the rear portion where the light comes through,
Looks awesome, I am getting my outer banks soon and am planning on doing this with the matte black letters. Seems like a pretty easy install? How long did it actually take to complete?
Took probably about 2 hours most of the time being just splicing wires and glueing them up.
@@EvilleTruck awesome not bad at all thank you
We can now imagine what electric bronco would look like haha! That looks neat tho!
Yeah even if it was just a flat bar straight across like the lightening has along the top of grill I think it would still look pretty good.
@@EvilleTruck Yeah for sure! It would still look good!
