Horizon software 'trouble' before it was rolled out to Post Offices

  • A former editor of the publication which first brought the Horizon Post Office scandal to light says the software "was trouble even before the system was rolled out to 18,000 post offices."
The government has introduced new legislation to overturn the convictions of victims of the Post Office scandal.
Computer Weekly first published the story in 2009. Its former editor Tony Collins told Sky News there is secrecy around IT issues in government which meant it remained covered up.
He went on to say that Fujitsu software is still used in many government departments and the government "can't afford to fall out with Fujitsu."

No one is giving Private Eye their reserved kudos for breaking this story.

That require them admitting that private eye got it right, while they dropped the ball on reporting this issue.
And they will never do that😂

This is quite clearly why the royal mail was sold (which should never have happened under any terms) they knew fully well what was coming and the sale of the royal mail was to compensate/partly compensate for the INSANELY huge compensation packages that will be forthcoming...And here's the thing so why were the convictions not quashed back then??...Obviously they hoped the issue would go away and they would not have to pay anything or very little!

Royal Mail was sold, the Post Office wasn't and is owned by the Gov

If Fujitsu seems to have appeared from nowhere, they bought ICL (International Computers Ltd) which was the British hardware equivalent of IBM that failed to modernise away from mainframes.

If the bug caused a problem, why wasn't the entire post office affected? All the post masters could be blamed.

Where oh where is this Post Office scandal going to end? Westminster are up to their ears whatever political colour they follow.
Lawyers involved have also been discovered as not possibly following the law. Where does the ordinary person on the street go to receive Justice?
