Yep, you need to have an incredible memory bank or photographic memory to get on board in this arc. I myself taking some notes lol for the names. I think if Togashi manage to pull off his writing skills til the end, this arc might be the best arc in the series.

One of the things I love most about HxH is how even the smallest side characters feel like they have their own motivations. Too many shows and games have characters leave their families, jobs, entire kingdoms they're in charge of... to follow the main character around like a pet 😅. Togashi does a good job of not giving the main characters contrived reasons to be joined at the hip.

At about 1:07:00 that really sparked a thought in my head. I always loved Kurapika’s development to not let his hatred for the spiders outweigh his mission to gather his fallen brethren’s remains. The fact that he focused most of his nen ability around him really put him at a disadvantage. Then the realization that all of the spiders and Tserri are on this one ship. Man, you gotta love Togashi. From the start, this arc looked to be Kurapika focused but now I’m convinced his journey might come to a conclusion with this one.
Using my shart math skills kurapika lost around 5 years. Here's the "math" since there are 720minutes in 12 hours and every minute 60 hours are lost I multiplied the 720min(slept) by 60hrs(lost) and got 43,200 hours, divided by 24(a day) which came out to 1,800 days and finally divided the days by 365 and got 4.9 years lost. So I if I'm correct then yeah 😬 he lost them final years to say goodbye to the fam

I really like this manga, unfortunately our boy Togashi has a terrible back issue, I am not even excited about the succession ark. I am mostly anxious, about the Dark continent ark. It would be awesome to see the expedition crew meet each of the 5 calamities and meet new calamities. What is there more to find in such a mysterious piece of land. Unfortunately, I Think it will take a couple more years just for them to arrive,given how Togashi slowly writes and has his back pain issues.

In my opinion the succession war arc has the potential to be better than yorknew city and one thing that I’ve noticed from re-reading is that Togashi likes to mirror or model his later arcs like some of his previous ones, for example greed island reminds me of the hunter exams, the succession contest reminds me of yorknew city, and I’m almost certain the dark continent arc will be modeled like the chimera ant arc.

For real though. HxH is potentially my favorite series. I read this in the manga however as it was released in between hiatus’. And lemme tell you I had no idea what was going on. On top of the theories about Kurapika's possible death, I've had a personal theory that he might end up teaming up with Chrollo (& possibly other members of the troupe) specifically for the sake of defeating their respective threats in TerrorSandwich & Hisoka respectively. I dunno, just the fact that they are both in desperate situations with powerful targets who have massive advantages to their disadvantages in an overall delicate situation on the Black Whale makes the idea of a temporary truce possible to me. Beyond that though, as much as I'm looking forward to the rest of this arc, I'm also insanely intrigued by Togashi's plans for the actual Dark Continent & the actual reintroduction of not just Pariston/Ging's Beyond Crew but the DC's threats. I love the Succession War but if I'm being honest with myself, I'm constantly chomping at the bit for the revelations on the DC.

I was reading the manga and read some of the succession war but the deeper I got in the less clear things became and my ability to follow this maze of a story got a lot more difficult. It will definitely be easier for me if I can see it animated at some point because I just can’t keep up with the new characters, powers, alliances etc
You got it wrong. Hisoka isn't interested in "wounding" Chrollo. He's interested in *actually* fighting him. He kills the Troupe members to reduce Chrollo's pool of abilities and force Chrollo to hunt Hisoka. What Hisoka loves best is *hunting*... He really is a hunter and not an honest fighter. He cultivates his game - like Gon - and then hunts them when they're strong enough.
Not gonna lie I can see Benjamin being an amazing HxH hero or villain depending if he Is super motivated to win by his fallen bros and all the sacrifices they’ve made for him or if he ends up killing more and more of them for further power.
The succession arc is definitely my favorite. I love it. Kurapika is really in a no win situation. Kurapika is trying to create a power stalemate, because they need it to survive, and he plans to flee the ship with Wobble, but he doesn't know that they can't. As soon as a contestant get off the ship they die, like what happened to Ka-chin. The succession needs to finish first. So sooner or later they will have to break the stalemate and fight to the death.

The Chrollo vs Hisoka's an awesome fight.. don't get me wrong.. Chrollo's the only who can pull that much of a strategy in a fight. and just goes to show the full potential of the skill bandit on the hands of a capable nen user.That being said.. Chrollo avoided Hisoka so much, probably because he knew that he might die.. probably with the help of Neon's hatsu.. as well as picking the place to his advantage ... So I understand that a nen battle is all about wits and strategy.. but Chrollo took it too another level that the fight was basically rigged in his favor

I was reading the manga and read some of the succession war but the deeper I got in the less clear things became and my ability to follow this maze of a story got a lot more difficult. It will definitely be easier for me if I can see it animated at some point because I just can’t keep up with the new characters, powers, alliances etc
You got it wrong. Hisoka isn't interested in "wounding" Chrollo. He's interested in *actually* fighting him. He kills the Troupe members to reduce Chrollo's pool of abilities and force Chrollo to hunt Hisoka. What Hisoka loves best is *hunting*... He really is a hunter and not an honest fighter. He cultivates his game - like Gon - and then hunts them when they're strong enough.

The succession arc is definitely my favorite. I love it. Kurapika is really in a no win situation.
Kurapika is trying to create a power stalemate, because they need it to survive, and he plans to flee the ship with Wobble, but he doesn't know that they can't. As soon as a contestant get off the ship they die, like what happened to Ka-chin. The succession needs to finish first.
So sooner or later they will have to break the stalemate and fight to the death.

You got Hisoka’s motive all wrong. He’s not out to hurt Chrollo. He wants to beat him. Their fight isn’t over. He is killing the Troupe members to limit Chrollo’s power, not for some pouty sore-loser reason.

The Chrollo vs Hisoka's an awesome fight.. don't get me wrong.. Chrollo's the only who can pull that much of a strategy in a fight. and just goes to show the full potential of the skill bandit on the hands of a capable nen user.That being said.. Chrollo avoided Hisoka so much, probably because he knew that he might die.. probably with the help of Neon's hatsu.. as well as picking the place to his advantage ... So I understand that a nen battle is all about wits and strategy.. but Chrollo took it too another level that the fight was basically rigged in his favor
